  1. Hi all As those who drive along Lornie Road knows, it is jammed from 730-930am daily despite the addition of another lane, these few days, my IU has been beeping at the same spot along Lornie Road (cashcard less than $5. The beeping is similar as when you pass through an ERP gantry and indicates low value cashcard.. Thus, I'm suspecting LTA is installing an ERP along Lornie Road soon, please insert a low value cashcard and try driving pass Lornie Road, it is always the same spot where my IU will beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp.. Osiris EDIT. Add Suspected to the title. You are not announcing a confirm new gantry. It's speculation on your part
  2. saw 2 taxis and 1 minivan involved in an accident this morning...anyone saw it? 1st taxi at longkang on the left (near mrt track), 2nd taxi at right longkang. minvan hit the kerb n back tyre pi-chak!
  3. Shortly after the discovery of dimsum at Blk 108, St 11. I found out another shop that took over the famous bak kut teh shop. Now it is called Bai Jia Yuan Cai Guan (Blk 108, AMK Ave 4, #01-84) I decided to give this shop a try yesterday night. I ordered the following items:- 1) Fried french beans with dried shrimps 2) Sweet & sour pork-small 3) Foo Yong Tan-small 4) Salted Veg Soup-small 5) Diced chicken-small 6) Salted fish fried rice-medium The damage plus 3 canned drinks came up to $35.64 (4 pax) after 10% disc. This shop is run by a China couple. Not sure whether it was a gimmick or truth when they said they have run out of white rice thereby we have to opt for fried rice. Overall the dishes not too salty. Lady Boss came and asked for feedback. Truthfully speaking, for that price, cannot complain. If you just want to fill your stomach, this is do-able but if you want tasty food at slightly higher price, can go to Hao Xiang Seafood (豪乡海鲜小厨) at Blk 158, Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. This morning, I went to check out Alif Corner Restaurant 24Hrs besides the 7-11 convenience store. They are located directly opposite Blk 172, AMK Ave 4. I tried 2 kosong prata, 1 puttu mayam & 1 teh tarik kurung manis which came up to $3.00. The prata is a little overdone, not cripsy but browned yet still soft & hot once you sink your teeth into it. The mutton curry that accompanied it was spicy but a little too watery. For the puttu mayam, it is not that fresh and they run out of coconut so I had to make do with just the orange sugar. For those who had tried freshly made hot pipping puttu mayam before, this one taste more like 1 day old puttu mayam. The teh tarik is more like susu tarik with colouring and I think sugar is very cheap nowadays despite asking for kurang manis. This shop is for those who want their prata fix yet don't want to travel to Jln Kayu which is abt 20mins drive +/-. If you hv a certain expectations of how you like yr prata, then this is definitely not the place for you. As for service, haiz, be prepared to remind the blokes abt yr order otherwise they will gather at one corner & start to chatter away.
  4. Hi Bros / Sis, For the past 2 days while driving to work along PIE towards Tuas near exit 35, I saw a young dog wandering along in the grass patch at the expressway divider. Today, I saw it wander a bit out on the edge. Please keep a look out and drive with care along that stretch. I've already contacted the Action For Dogs and they have already received calls regarding the same dog. But when they went there, they couldn't locate the animal. Please do not call SPCA, they will put it to sleep. The animal looks real skinny and distressed. Anyone who travels along that stretch and wish to call the Action For Dogs people if you happen to see it, please PM me and I'll give you the mobile to call. Thanks!

  13. Fatal accident along Upper Thomson Road kills one woman SINGAPORE: A 76-year-old lady was knocked down and killed by a suspected drunk-driver Sunday morning at 6.50am. Mrs Helen Wee and her husband were on their way to church on Upper Thomson Road when they were hit by a car. Paramedics pronounced Mrs Wee dead at the scene. Her husband, 76-year-old Peter Wee, sustained head injuries and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The driver, a 33-year-old Chinese man, was arrested for drink-driving and is now out on bail. The couple's son said they were walking along the road instead of the pavement as the walkway was occupied by cars. "There's no pavement at all. The pavement is all being parked by cars," said Mr Wee. "So, there's no way anybody can walk on the pavements even though it's there. That's why (my parents) probably walked along the side of the road, by the pavement beside the cars, and that's where my mom got hit." Police are appealing for witnesses. I don't want to jump to conclusion but I reckon the pavement occupied by church-goer cars who are too lazy and inconsiderate to park at proper lots. That is what irritates me, cars illegally parked along side road going for their service at mosque, church or temple. Seems to me that religon takes precedent over everything!!! It is a matter of time before accidents happen, and look what happened.
  14. PRC acquitted of trying to rob a cabby along Sims Avenue A CHINESE national charged a week ago with trying to rob a cabby was cleared on Wednesday after the charge was dropped. 15. Hi All, I am starting this thread to express my sincere apology to all involved parties for nearly causing an accident along the PIE exit towards Braddel Road. I was driving a white peugeot and was exiting from PIE towards Braddel Road and there was this traffic light, before the main road's traffic light, which i did not notice at all, which was RED at that time, and nearly caused an accident with vehicles traveling from right to left (from my view). If you have friends/relatives that was involved in this near accident, please kindly assist by letting them know that I am sorry. And honking people in this situation was not my way of driving, as I was 100% in the wrong. Kind Regards, James

  20. Guys, beware of TP on overhead bridge with camera along Telok Blangah Road going towards Pasir Panjang Road. Location is the first overhead bridge after Henderson Rd junction. TP hiding behind a corner board on the bridge and aiming the camera at the back of cars instead. I had been caught speeding earlier last year but that time the TP was aiming in the on-coming direction. Now they have opted to hide behind the board and shoot u from behind instead. Usually in the morning around 9am and used to see a police van parked before the bridge however today the van was not there but TP was up on the bridge with camera aiming. Have been very careful every morning travelling there after my ticket. So watch your back and slow down before and after the overhead bridge. You have been warned!!!!

Anyone with information should call 1800-547-1818. another young guy bit the dust...
  22. I just came back from KL & Port Dickson trip with my family. Its was around 1730 and we were stopped at a road block. The bugger told me I was speeding and exceeded the speed limit by 6km/h just before a toll. I recalled...I was speeding...but was at 140km/h. I've heard about MY TPs catching speeding cars and pple give them coffee $$ but never heard of road blocks at HIGHWAY. I was still composing myself when he asked: TP: " Pay at JB is RM 300. Here..how much you want?" ME: "Huh? What you mean here how much I want?" TP: "How much you want la?" ME: "I dun understand what you mean." TP: "Settle here..." (I start to realize his intention) ME: "You mean I can choose ar. You are the police you ask me to choose. If I choose I drive off now. How much you want?" TP: "RM100." Me: "Huh...RM100 ar. Hmmm...I think I pay at JB." He was like stun when I say I go pay at JB. Look at me for awhile and turn to his colleague and keep asking me if I really wan to pay at JB. I say yes and give me the ticket I'll pay when I'm free. They were doing it in broad day light!! All the cars been stopped were SG cars!! ALL!!! A Nissan Sunny was stopped b4 me and I believe he choose to pay at JB coz I saw one of the TP passed him a ticket as well. Then there were a WRX, a Lexus, so many... Any bros had the same experience? Is the ticket they gave me even real?? What will happen if I dun pay the RM300? I had a fair share of corrupted police in MY experience when I was still a NS driving in MY to get cheaper petrol and cigarette. Its ridiculous...
