  3. Five people were injured in an accident on Sunday morning. The accident, which involved a taxi and a cargo van, happened at Airport Boulevard, near the Budget Terminal. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call about the accident just after 4am. Three of the injured were passengers in the taxi. Two were from the cargo van. SCDF said a 55-year-old man is suspected to have a spinal injury. The injured have been sent to Changi General Hospital. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1224915/1/.html
  4. Sianz.... Just went to fetch my daughter from church camp and kena red light traffic camera along Lornie Road toward BKE ramp. It's pitch dark at that area and I underestimated the distance from the stop line when it turned amber. Did some check and I suppose 200 bucks with 12 demerit point can't escape liao. One question is, will be charged at court or not har?
  5. About a quarter past one today. Caused a jam. The bike is lying to the left of the silver Toyota with a P-plate. I hope noone's hurt too badly. (Video can be viewed in 1080p if your hardware is up to it).
  6. SINGAPORE: Three people were injured in an accident involving a truck and two cars on Sunday evening at Farrer Road near Blk 64. Traffic was almost brought to a standstill for about two hours on Farrer Road toward Holland Road. This after an overturned mover's truck blocked three out of the four lanes. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call about the accident at 5pm. The SCDF despatched a fire engine, one red rhino, two ambulances and two other support vehicles. Three men were injured including the truck driver - a male Chinese national in his 30s, his passenger who is a Singaporean man in his 20s and a pedestrian in his 40s. It is believed that the pedestrian was hit by a car while trying to help the other two men. SCDF said the trio suffered abrasions and cuts on their limbs. They were sent to Alexandra Hospital in a conscious state. Credits go to CNA For more photos please visit Facebook CNA http://www.facebook.com/ChannelNewsAsia/photos
  7. A security officer was jailed for four months and banned from driving for five years on Friday for causing death by dangerous driving. Johnny Sim Swee Leng, 46, had pleaded guilty to causing the death of motorcyclist Owyong Tak Sung, 54, along the Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) on Dec 9, 2009. Court documents said he made multiple lane changes at 85 to 90kmh without signalling while travelling on the slip road from the Tampines Expressway into the KPE that morning. After filtering straight into the right most lane of the KPE, he overtook Owyong's motorcycle and the front left of his car side-swiped the machine causing the rider to wobble. He then accelerated further causing the left wing mirror of his car to hit Owyong. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_811271.html
  8. where are these white ants? i thought they are not supposed to be hiding?
  9. Maybe you are in the rush of time, came behind me fast n furious on lane 1 and then cut out to lane 3 and back into lane 1 in front of me with only 1 car spacing near steven road exit. u tailgate the taxi so close like u are really rushing somewhere, then u did the same stunt again, cutting out to lane 3 and back into lane 1 with minimal space. perhaps i should forgive u if u are rushing for time. finally near eng neo exit, i saw u cutting out to lane 3 again, this time, u were trying to side swipe a lorry in lane 3 as the lorry refuse to give way to u. i drive pass u and from my rear mirror, i saw that u overtook the lorry and play jambrake stunt.... if u rushing for time, i dun think u will be toying with the lorry. then again, if u wish to toy with a lorry, you must be an idiot anyway... if u wish to get yourself killed, pls dun drag others down with u
  10. This gas station service staff are simply crap. I was there and wanna alight to get something from the convenient store but was trap behind a queue of car waiting to do wash. I didn't see them cos there was a van blocking so LL stuck there. I see they had cones in between the pumps and gesture to the pump attendant to help shift it so I can drive thru and get out and not be trap behind the queue. The attendant signal cannot so I wind down window to ask nicely and he snapped at me. I was like WTF. Move a cone doesn't kill u so why the fock u snap at me. So I alighted and go ask the foking pump manager why can't they help so he said ok. I ask that foker attendant why he needed to shout at me saying cannot then in front of the manager he diam diam. WTF. I wanna spend money in their store and kena a scolding for a small matter that they can help. If cannot shift then just tell me nicely la. I din know what kind of service training Caltex provides but pls look into this. One experience enough to leave an impression that all service staff from Caltex are the same. I drove away to the next pump and bought my stuff and was greet nicely by that station staff. Kudos to that pump just down from that Caltex.
  11. This morn at 8.15, I saw a Sentosa Ranger in grey uniform holding a hand-held cam standing on the left side near the far end of the gateway. This is the 1st time I come across the speed trap. Fyi, the speed limit there is 50km / hr.
  12. Abandoned crashed car along CTE.....no one was near the car....so I dialled 999 to report it......
  13. Early morning TP along TPE.....wonder why he stop the biker.....
  14. Have seen innumerable Sillyporeans road hogging the lane 1 along NS at 110-150km/h when there's a long 'Dragon' following behind. It is damn dangerous when others needs to weave in & out of traffic or overtake using road shoulder. Then there's this 'Kia Se' typo who keeps such a huge distance from the front vehicle that doubt any reigning soccer superstar could do a free kick fm where slow poke is & hit the car in front of it. Lastly, sillyporean (70%) can't seem to know how to drive in the rain, why? At the slight hint of a drizzle, they'll slow down to 70-80km/h on lane 1! All of the above causes huge congestion & inadvertently causes dangerous situations when there'll be overtaking from all sides.
  15. Dear all, Just to share with all of you to prevent another victim $ been suck away. This morning my ride was parked at block 186 along woodland Industrial Park E6. While waiting for my wife (Driving lesson) and having breakfast from 10.30am to 12.30pm, my ride was clamped by the premises management. I went to ask them for a reason and the man told me I have exceeded the grace period of 1 hr. I was puzzled and asked him where was the sign board. His reply was that there is a warning notice when I drive into the CP. I was like "WTF". I went to see the sign board which indicated only "Unauthorized, Indiscriminate or Illegally parked vehicles will be wheel clamped" BUT it doesnt indicate the grace period. I have no time to argue but to pay $100 for them to release the wheel clamp. Sway!
  16. When driving /riding along the expressway, pls look out for drunk jay walkers trying to cross the road. ========= Drunk jaywalker jailed for causing fatal 5-vehicle crash 06 Sep 2011; SOURCE: The Straits Times A DRUNK jaywalker who caused a fatal five-vehicle collision on an expressway was jailed for four weeks yesterday. Jeffrey Ching Fook Soon, 30, pleaded guilty to the negligent act of crossing a section of the Pan-Island Expressway without keeping a proper lookout on the evening of March 15, 2009. Ching, who was an operations support manager then, walked away from the accident with bruises and abrasions. But his reckless act resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, who was thrown off his vehicle and run over by a lorry. The traffic accident involved two cars, a taxi, a lorry and a motorcycle. A traffic court heard that aircraft service engineer Tan Ching Beng, 47, was driving his car behind one driven by Associate Professor Arthur Tay Ee Beng, 41, along the centre of the three-lane expressway when they saw a blue taxi either slowing down or stopping along the left lane. They then noticed Ching walking unsteadily across the left lane in front of the taxi. Suddenly, he turned and walked back towards the left. Prof Tay, who thought the man had decided not to cross the road, proceeded to drive ahead at a reduced speed. But Ching suddenly turned back again. Prof Tay immediately applied his brakes but his car hit Ching, who rolled up the bonnet, hit the front windscreen before rolling down and landing on the expressway. Mr Tan also braked and swerved left, causing security officer Rajoo Subramaniam Naidu
  17. Happened about 15 minutes ago, front part of car badly smashed. This stretch of road had seen quite a number of accidents and yet nothing is done to curb speeding along this straight road all the way from Sengkang East Road. The previous accident happened a few months back where a taxi was rear ended and the boot almost flatten.
  18. Any update? It look like the car totally wreck coz it very early accident can't see much....
  19. Background: The whole incident happens on 190311 @ around 13:30. I was driving a white honda civic ek hatch while the other party was a big truck ( those ferrying sands kind ). Three lanes road next to Marine Parade Community Centre along Still Road S heading towards ECP flyover. I was in the middle lane and this truck on the right most lane. I was only traveling straight keeping in my own lane. Note that there is road works on the right most lane. Now the unlucky thing happened, the truck wanted to change lane and BANG! it hit into my driver side, rear quarter panel!! Took down particulars and as my gf was running late for her exam quickly took some photos and i went off without pressing the truck driver to write a statement that he is at fault! Did some repairs and paint + surveyor fee adding up to just nice $1k. Just received a call from my workshop telling me the other party insurance only willing to pay 50%. Very angry as it is no fault of mine. Now the big question: 1. Do you guys think i should pay more(for blood sucking laywers) to fight for that smaller sum of $$? 2. If i accept that 50%, does it means that i admit that i'm partially at fault? will my ncd be affected? will it my car harder to get insured next time? As you guys should know that my car being a honda and also a coe car, insurance is always a problem. Insurance cost is already quite high now. And bigger problem is getting insured, many insurance companies are already not insuring this car. Lastly, hope that there is someone here on the forum who witness the whole incident can come forward though my chances are quite slim. better still if got video recording of it. Thanks for reading, i'm just need somewhere to vent my frustration!!!!! and seek some help.
  20. Will be driving to cameron highlands in June. Want to pick up some supplies (milk powder, groceries) before heading up. Any Hypermarts ( Giant, Tesco etc...) near NSH exits around Negri Sembilan, KL that I can drop by? Directions will be helpful also...
  21. Anyone saw the accident? alot of smoke, fire engine and ambulance.
  22. I was driving down Mandai rd along the crematorium at 11.30pm with my girl when at the last bend towards Thomson road I came face to face with a man, most probably a PRC riding a bicycle towards me. It was a sharp bend and I was only 10m away from hitting him. I swerve to my right, across the other direction road, smashed straight into the kerb and whole car flew down to the grass patch below, missing a tree and 2 fences by mere half a metre only. My both front wheels was banged inwards and the undercarriage in a mess. I quickly jumped out and look for that cyclist but he's gone. A few cyclists came over and ask if I'm alright, as I had my roof opened and luckily didn't fly out! Total damage close to $2K. Funny thing is.... My girl said she didn't see any cyclist or person when I suddenly jammed brake and swerve my car. Hmm.. So please be careful guys nowadays too many cyclists on the road and expect someone to be there at a sharp bend if not you'll get into an accident! Peace!

  25. Dear all, An accident happened along Hougang Ave 2 just outside the SPC Kiosk on the 6th Jan 2011. The victim, a sole bread winner, just passed away today leaving behind his wife and 2 young children who are still schooling. I do not have much info on this accident as the victim was not related to me. I was told that the victim was riding on his motorcycle with his wife as a pillion and was on the left most lane when a car swerved into his lane to turn into SPC kiosk. Anyone whom witness the accident please provide your statement to the police. Thank you and god bless his soul.
