Just installed the Alpine 9887 with the Full Speed connector KCE-422i and bought the current iPod classic last week. Notice that while connected, the Full Speed cable is not charging the Classic (other than that, the Full Speed cable is sweet - control of the Classic from the 9887 is instantaneous). I have a third party wall charger for iPod Nano. That charger cannot charge the Classic as well. Seems that Apple has made changes to the Classic dock connector such that it's incompatible with chargers for previous generations iPod. Anyone experience the same? This is just WRONG. I put off upgrading my stock ICE for almost 2 years waiting for an aftermarket HU with decent sound and iPod connectivity quality. The Alpine 9887 fitted that bill, and now the Full Speed connector CANNOT charge the iPod . -

Hi guys, Are there any significant differences between the 2 units? I'm also looking at the pioneer 6850DVD, but more inclined towards alpine.. I hope the W202 being newer, will be GPS expandable I think the pioneer one does not have GPS capability, nor does it have a good tuning system. -

I am thinking of upgrading my HU. Can anyone advise on the following: 1. Upgrade from Alpine 9815 to 9887, can hear improvement? or 2. add H701 to existing HU (can 9815 connect?) 3. Upgrade to Eclipse 7100 (but expensive)

Hi, i read the manual still dun quite get it. config the dist from the speaker to your ear right example L-F- 60cm , R-F 30cm, the vocal sound is more space apart. if i reverse the config example L-F - 30 cm, R-F-60cm the vocal sound is at concentrate at the central dashboard. so which is the correct setting? or both are wrongly config?

Am looking for Alpine Bluetooth Adapter: KCE-300... Seems like the whole market is monopolised by one supplier.. ask everywhere including SLS, SLT - the same reply (stock no come in yet, expected mid-jul) after they call. Alpine so powerful har.. no export/ parallel one meh..

hi folks, my radio cannot receive any sound or noise after i have installed a amp. not even the sizzling noise when tuning for stations can be heard. tried to go back to the installer but he could not do anything. checked that the antenna wiring is connected behind the HU. will need to go back to the agent at jalan kilang barat. any bros/sis here can give me some suggestions to solve this before i go the agent ? btw, no problems on listening to CDs. only problem with the radio. thanks a million.

Hi Bros, Anyone got reccommendations as to where i can purchase a ipod connector to connect my ipod to my HU? Beside audioshops are there any where i can buy it off the shelve? Cos i have went to a few audioshops to get a quote but was quoted $60 bucks. The only other choice i have is to buy it online for $37 and install it myself. But if got any shops selling cheap plus installation i don't mind paying them a visit.

Hi, Am at a lost. Did a search on the history posting but just bits and pieces. Still don't get it. Anybody can assist me on how to set my crossover setting for my Alpine 9815? I'm on passive set-up. Ice set up as follows: HU : Alpine 9815 / 60W x 4 AMP: Genesis Profile 2 / 75W x 2 SPK : Infinity 6000CS (Component Spk) / Impedance 4OHMS / Frequency response 53Hz-21kHz / Sensitivity (2.83V, 1m)= 92db / Crossover Freq = 3.5kHz Appreciate any feedback. Totally confused!! Cheers...

Decide to keep the 9855 to run 3 way active. I have got 2 x 4 Channel amps (1000W Lanzar Vibe421 and 800W Boss C600) and I have Rainbow SLX265 component set, a RF 12" sub and a pair of 4" mid (havent upgrade, still using stock speakers) Since 9855 does not have a subwoofer out in 3 way mode, I only left with H, M, L output to play with, this is what i intend to do: The L signal goes to CH 3 & 4 of the Lanzar amp, that has a remote control subwoofer gain, and then to the RF sub. The M signal goes to the CH 1 & 2 of the Boss amp, and then to the Rainbow woofer which is at the door. My Lanzar amp has RCA output, so I make use of this to share the H signal with the tweeter and mid. The H singal goes to CH 1 & 2 of the lanzar, then to the Rainbow tweeter. The RCA output from the lanzar will go to CH 3 & 4 of the Boss amp, and then to the passive crossover from rainbow (that cut off the high frequency at around 4.2KHz), and finally to the 4" mid. Crossover frequency for mid and low will be set on the HU, they are for the woofer and sub respectively. For the tweeter, I will need to set the crossover on the amp because the high crossover frequency on the HU is meant for the 4" mid. Now, I am able to control the individual gain. My tweet and mid are very close to each other, so the TA will not be a problem. I should be able to get better staging too as my 4" mid is in front at the dash board. Any problem with this setup? Any advise from those running 3 way active with 9855? Thanks in advance.

hi guys , going for my 40k servicing soon , any1 have done his at alpine or ubi ? or own ws is better? wats the cost like ....? i have change my ATF at 30k , brake fluid flush and renew , and front brake disk pad replace last mth at ubi costing me $120 . have already bought the offer CL 10w 40w , so wat else need to buy ? Read from manuel need to flush and change coolent ? can get ownself to ws ? Can any1 highlight wats else to be done , is alpine cheaper ? very much thanks i am driving a optra

Hi all Thinking of changing my current Pioneer P6450 HU to a new one (either Pioneer again or Alpine) for my new ride. Current setup is MB Quartz tweeter + component speaker; normal rear door 6x9 speaker and a low-end Farenheit amp. Will retain the rest of the equipment except change HU. But which one?? Will appreciate any advice given...my budget for the new HU is about $350... Thks.
