Hi, Anyone know where I can find a FM Aerial Amplifier locally? Something like this? http://www.quasarelectronics.com/1038.htm Basically, I've got 2 cars, both with lousy rear windscreen FM Antennas. Both designs have lousy reception. I know a option is to change to a outdoor antenna, but then, I'll need to drill holes on the car which I don't know if I should go that way..... I was hoping to get a FM Aerial Amp so that I can fit into these 2 cars and it should improve the reception..... Any ideas where in singapore can I find them? Thanks

How do you match amplifier and subwoofer power ratings? I'm talking about RMS power values here, since peak power ratings of 1200W or 1000W are useless numbers. I have a spare 50Wx2 (into 4 ohms) amplifier which I can bridge into a mono 200W into 2 ohms for a subwoofer. Does this mean I should match it with a sub that requires a 200W RMS power to work? Some subs specify a nominal input power instead of RMS values. Are they the same? Any advice here would be appreciated.

anyone have lobang to trade-in or upgrade car amplifier? Can be used or new amplifiers either type. Heard of 2 -channel PPI(precision power) amplifier from US? Thinking of trading in to upgrade to second hand PPI amplifier 150RMS any advise, friends? cheers

Guys, need to ask some amauteur question 1. what does the amp watts mean to us??? Bigger means better??? I see alot in the market, some can claim 2000 watts, and yet when i saw those SUPER DUPER brand one, 600W already cost you a big BOMB liao 2. What does the amp channel means??? Got 4/2/1 and somemore i saw 5 channel today??? if need so many amp to run our ICE, might as well get one 8 channel one...(machiam the BOSE System 12) add on can already...no need to put in so many amp...waste of space Please help me clear my doubts

My opinion: IT IS IMPT TO MATCH your SPEAKERS AND THE AMPLIFIER. Here is my experience / story to telll many years back when I was still playing with hi fi. I have heard a lot a lot abt the Mission speakers many years back with all the solid reviews from all magazines. They wrote the review like macham u r a goon not to buy a pair! I was bent to get a AUDIOLAB amp which IMHO is one of the best amp ever for that kind of price. I tried it many times at the shop selling it - ATLAS and is very satisfied. So I bot one Audiolab from Atlas HiFi and carried it over to Pertama who is selling teh Mission Tower speakers as I was also bent to get that Mission spkrs since its supposed to be damn good. I asked the uncle to hook it up for me with my brand new amp. When the salesman started playing the CD I brought there, I was given a shock! Its sounded like so horrible & is nothing like the sort I hear when I tried the Audiolab at Atlas Hifi. It then dawned on me that the problem is neither the well acclaimed Mission spkrs, and neither is it that the AudioLab amp was spoilt or I was shortchanged. IT IS THE COMBINATION!

Anyone can share their experience with Class A amps... and which brand is a good make for Class A amp? Went to Autobacs last Saturday hoping to get a chance to see if there are any Class A amps on offer - was disappointed. I am hooked to Class A amp at home with both amplifiers on Class A.

Hi guys, I need some advice on amplifier and tweeters. I have a spare amplifier which is lying around after I savaged it from my previous car. I'm intending on install it on my current new car which doesn't have one. My question is: What is the actual difference with the amplifier? Does it simply just amplifies the sound volume so that I do not have to turn the volume dial too much to hear the increase in volume? If it's just simply amplifiying the volume only, wouldn't it be quite useless? But I think it should do more than that coz if not, why would so many ppl install amps? Basically, I would like to justify the reasons for having the amp before I go ahead to install it. Another question I have is: If I were to install a new pair of tweeters, where should I install it to? Front? or Front and rear? And what is the price for a pair of reasonable quality tweeters? regards kianbeng

Anyone can recommend a good amplifier for the ICE? I want to upgrade my ICE but the first step I want to make is the amp.... budget reasonable lah... no more than $400.
