  1. Looked up and down but didn't find anyone starting this regular topic although COE is closing tomorrow. Everybody lost interest already? So anyway I shall do the honours :)
  2. A section of the Tampines Expressway (TPE) will be temporarily closed this Thursday, April 25 from 12.01am to 5am. The stretch of expressway between Jalan Kayu and Sengkang East Road will be affected. The temporary road closure will facilitate the erection of a new overhead gantry sign along the TPE for the widening of the roadway, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) said in a statement today. Motorists travelling on the TPE in the direction of Tampines are advised to use alternative routes along Jalan Kayu, Sengkang West Way and Sengkang East Road. 3. Hi all, Not sure if some kind souls can help with starting a new thread under "General" as i have not reach 25 posts yet. I had a accident on the 4th April around 1040 pm, Along Punggol Road slip road towards Jalan Kayu/ SLE/CTE. I was on the extreme left filter lane (there were 2 lanes), and after checking clear i proceeded. Suddenly a cyclist (Foreign worker , dark skinned either indian or bangadeshi, wearing a black tshirt with dark colored bottoms ) cycled acrossed the pedestrian crossing without checking. He was going at a fast speed, cycling across and i could not react in time. Jammed brakes but still hit the rear wheel of the bicycle. He fell and i believe sustained some injuries towards his wrist and foot. I dialed for police and ambulance , statements were given and the case is still pending. Would anyone happen to see the accident? I have been prowling the net to search for other such incidents, however, all pointed to the fault of the driver. Would really appreciate any advice from the seniors here. http://injury.findlaw.com/car-accidents/bi...-accidents.html http://srsc.org.sg/advisories/cyclists-bic...fety-accidents/ There are some articles which states that the cyclist should dismount before proceeding , however, i believe the TP would be aware of these rules and regulations as well.

  8. Know many MCF bros are now either on Vista or Windows 7 but yours truly is still faithfully using the old warhorse XP. Like wearing an old pair of sneakers or faded sweater, they might not be fanciful but the warm and comfortable feeling is there... Now that they wana kill off this excellent version in 2 years' time, guess it's time to move on. From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/tec...1194379/1/.html Microsoft counting down to the end of Windows XP Posted: 11 April 2012 0717 hrs SAN FRANCISCO: Microsoft is counting down the days until it is through with the Windows XP operating system for personal computers. The US software titan used a blog post to remind the world that in two years it will no longer support the generations-old operating system that people have clung to despite the releases of successors Vista and Windows 7. "We want to acknowledge the two-year countdown to the end of Windows XP and Office 2003 support," said Microsoft marketing director Stella Chernyak. "Windows XP and Office 2003 were great software releases for their time, but the technology environment has shifted." She advised computer users, particularly businesses, to begin "migrating" machines to the latest versions of the programs well before Microsoft puts XP to rest on April 8, 2014. - AFP/fa
