in the light of fatal accidents and perhaps sometimes unexplained reasons, my friend related to me an incident last weekend he had while driving at upper pierce (former race track) at around 9pm. It was a series of bends and he was driving his 1 month old vios with his wife. It was the shortest route for him thats why he used that road. As he was approaching the final bend leading to the exit, his brakes failed. He stepped the brake pedal vigorously but nothing happened. He couldnt use engine brake as its auto. He continued stepping and thankfully, just before he was about to hit a boulder, the ABS kicked in and the car came to a halt. this incident certainly felt spooky to me. i've driven there a few times but it was daytime. But my friend said he once saw someone walking alone at night and his friend who was driving, missed the sighting. i've since heard quite abit about the place. i'm not superstitious but i guess those who drive there can take extra precaution and drive slowly. i guess my friend luckily drove rather slow that night and the electronics didnt fail. in any case, im just glad he escaped any injury.

Road was a bit slippery after the rain, join CTE from AMK 3, filter from Lane 3 to Lane 2, then Lane 2 to Lane 1. Traffic was ok but just near to AMK 1 exit, all cars come to a claw and stop, I manage to stop in time, then it happen, 1 loud bang and about 2 sec later another bang stop the car and step out to take a look, the Black Ford Laser behind me didn't stop in time and seconds later the taxi behind it also didn't stop in time here are some pics taken of the Black Lancer behind me but forgetten to take pics of the taxi behind it. Got some video of the taxi on my Nokia handphone, will try to upload to youtube later. pics taken with my N95 8GB but flash not powerful enough, so have to enhance the contrast & brightness

LTA has announced that Raffles Ave, Esplanade Drive and Temasek Ave would be closed (during different timeslots) on 31 Dec... as i need to go to Conrad Hotel on 31 Dec, would the closure affect the availability of gng Conrad by driving? thanks

HI, Today lunch time around 12.05pm -12.10pm when i was in the carpark lot i saw a new white camry hit a red Nissan latio front bumber when she was doing a 3point turn... Ops! it should be 8 to 9 point turn for her... And after she hit the red latio she just don't bother and drove off... Hopefully the red latio owner can see this post and PM me... I'm more than willing to be the eye witness for you... In fact i did wrote a note of that hit & run camry and put it on your windscreen, you should be able to see the note unless the note have been remove by someone... I was following a WRX STi along lane 1 of ECP towards airport. Just before Marine Parade, the STi slammed his brakes and I immediately followed suit. Managed to stop in time (Thanks to 15" front and 14" rear disc brakes!). Filtered into lane 2 and I counted more than 6 cars "kissing" each other. Most outstanding is a new white Stream sandwiched badly between 2 cars.. Anyone saw the accident? Couldn't stop to take pictures..

Bros & Sis, I was travelling on lane 1 near the above location keeping a safe distance behind the car infront. All of a sudden, a silver or white Honda Odyssey overtook me on lane two and abruptly swerved into my lane (lane one) when he was barely half a car length in front. I jammed brake and took evasive action but this fella hit my left front tyre body area. I horned him but he sped off swerving in and out of traffic. If any forumers witnessed the incident, pls help me. My car is a silver Focus. Any advice what to do? Thanks, bros & sis. -

I notice that a lot of these complaint of lorry, LGV, Bus (pvt) travelling at high speed/slow speed at the centre or worse 1st lane of the expressway. Have anyone notice that we dun see any of these trailers being booked? If some of you travel by AYE everyday, will notice that almost two of the three lanes are occupied by trailers(travelling at all kinds of speed). Some even changed lane along the upslope of the flyover, sometime the tailend will sway into the 1st lane. So what our world class police force are doing? Must they waited for a very major accident (e.g. a trailer fly off the flyover and land on a SBS double decker with full load of passengers) to happen then they will take action?

Hi, Anyone encountered this before? My ride is just 3 weeks old. Only realised it recently when i was not playing the audio. It usually happened especially during travelling on uneven surfaces. Suspect it is the cables or pipes that are layed somewhere around underneath the dashboard. Think the sound is rather irritating given the fact that it is a new car. Please share your experience.

Today saw another one of those light lorries with added shelter height more than twice the height of its width. From the looks of it, its CG is well out of place and I suspect when turning corners, its more likely to tilt over. Very dangerous looking Doesn't TP or LTA forbid modification to add height to existing roof/shelter of lorries/pickup anymore? or is there a change of rules? just like allowing bangla to sit behind speeding lorries? Have also seen a number of tipper truck that fills its rear with some furnitures or waste metals beyond its rim and top, especially around Tuas area. Even saw one last week with furnitures stacked such that the height of rubbish is twice its normal height. Reminds me of streets of india where everything goes. It feels very intimidating to follow behind them, in case one of the metals falls. Cannot imagine what will happen if this happens. Has LTA or TP took note of these "new" vehicles on the road lately? Are these modification now allow -
My office most-likely will be moving to Alexandra Technopark or Comtech. Anyone know the season parking charge there? Is there better (best is cheaper) place around that area? Gillman-village? Thanks a million.
