Hi all out there, I just got my colt plus for a month and find the sound v flat. Thought of getting a active sub. I am not a big timer for ice, just wanted more base. A check on my 2 din Kenwood system and I am all lost . Im currently using a budget JL Audio 12w3v2 sub, 300W RMS with a 300W RMS rodek amp. I admit i did blast my system but not until very very loud or inaudible..just slightly above..and sub right below the front dome paper look like a mosquito coil broken off liao..i don't is it i put my gain too high? or something else?

Tried it on my in car DVD player, can't play, tried on my Xbox, also cannot play, tried on my DVD-player at home also cannot, tried on my notebook also cannot.. Is there a special way to play DVD-Audio discs?

not much has been discussed about the higher end of (car) audio here. Probably because the budget and mid-range people comprise most of the population. but for those of you in the know, wonder if u'd like to comment on some aspects of the high end. some say the higher you go, the more diminishing returns u get per dollar. wonder if you could mention some components of high-end stuff that (a) qualify as high-end value-for-money (such that any further gain is slight and involves a large jump in expenditure), and (b) as really high-end money-not-withstanding. Perhaps we might also begin simply with the HU. many sport the Clarion D2. fewer in this group seem to have the pioneer high end (that's the P9 + processor combo right) though I've seen it with some other singapore forum members. any comments about high end HU, like does pioneer still have that "pioneer sound" colouration? i've read some foreign comments that sing praises for pioneer P9. if possible, do give ballpark figures of prices as well.

I have already searched a few ICE forum but can't find any one talking about those shops along bukit merah opposite old safra building. I already got a set of component, subwoofer, amp and pre-amp....just need to find someone to install and tune for me at affordable price. Due to my busy schedule, will be good if the shop is near my workplace, around redhill and depot area. Any recommendation?

In JDM Accord or most JDM cars, the built-in audio HU FM receiver is suited for the japanese radio spectrum. I think Japanese band is from 70MHz to 89MHz. While Singapore is 88MHz to 106MHz. When you get a JDM car from PI, they will provide a converter for the FM receiver to set down Singapore band to the Japanese band. The set down is about 17 MHz. This means when you want to hear Class 95, you tune the HU to 95-17 =78MHz. The problem is that the bloody display will shows 78MHz when you are listening to class95. Any solutions? Can't change the HU as it is a built-in.

Hi all, I'd extracted my amp, mixer, a set of component speakers, circuit breaker, cables etc from my old car, and planning to install them into my new ride. any recommendation for an installer? i've got quotes for S$150 including new thick cables and adding softboards. the amp and mixer will be installed below the front passenger seats. is this a good price? or is there a much cheaper price around? BTW, does anybody has experience with pasted-on-screen antenna? my ride's factory fitted antenna is etched on the side window...and reception is bad. the installer does not recommend installing an external one, as it would involve drilling a hole on the roof. he's recommending a pasted-on-screen antenna which i suspect to be the same as my current one.

Hi Guys, Went to express motion at Upper Thomson today to check on ICE. The lady boss intro me this BLITZ audio for budget. 2 X component. 4 channel n 2 channel amplifer. 12" sub. All the above for less than 1200 with installation. Went to the web and check, was surprised by the spec of the component n amp are quite GOOD. Anyone got blitz audio system in their ride? comments? Thinking of changing my stock HU for my Audi A3 Sportsback. The change would require some fascia plate adaptor as the slot is slanted at the edge. Any recommendations? I was also recommended to just at a audio sound processor would that help?

Now is to find which audio shop that charge reasonably for installing these things in my car for me. you guys have any recommendation? Preferbly around Alexandra...cus that's where i work if not, any other places... I heard there an audio shop at Zion Road...is it good?

My friend driving a 1998 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini had a old Pioneer DEH 1080 SDP installed. Recently the player stop responding, no power at all. He went to an audio shop for diagnosis, the shop say his old HU is spoilt and asked him to purchase a new HU. He paid $20 for the diagnosis. But nothing was done, my friend not sure whether his price is ex, so never buy. So he bought a new HU, Pioneer DEH 7750 but not from that shop but from my friend's shop reccomended by me at $400 including 1 year warranty. He asked me to help him install. I opened up his dash and take a look at the wirings. His black cable(HU) from the old pioneer wiring harness is broken. This is the ground wire for the player. I look around and saw a green wire with white lines (only car's wire not connected), I connect this to the black ground wire of the HU, thinking green/white(car) is the ground wire, it works, the old SDP can work. Its not spoilt, only the ground dropped. Then I pluck out the old HU's wire harness and use the new wire harness. The reason I never use the same harness is becos the socket is different physically, the shape of the plastic clip, the wires is in the same position though. I connect the new Pioneer HU's Power cable(yellow), Ignition Cable(red), Ground Cable(black) (to the green/white as above) and the speaker's cables exactly the same as what is connected to the old wiring harness in the pioneer HU (same color code between new and old model). The only different is the old HU's wiring harness do not have an orange/white cable which is ILLUM. Old HU dont have this don't have this function whereby you can switch on headlight and the HU's display illumination dim. So I left the orange/white cable unconnected and blacked taped. Another unconnected cable is the blue/white cable which is the Remote Turn On, this is unused becos my friend's system do not have amps or preamps. Then just now my friend sms me say his HU is as normal but his car's speedometer and rpm meter and instrument meter light doesnt turn on. But Headlight and fog light and brake light perform as usual. Only internal dash board light is not on. Now I suspect the green/white cable (car) is the ILLUM wire which I should connect to the orange/white(HU). I am not sure, so I post here. I do not have a test pen to test the voltages. I read from other forums and internet search says Mitsubishi car's audio wires do not include Ground wire, normally people tap to some screw or car's body, is it true? Can the mitsubishi owners here clarify? My friend super blur one, he doesnt even know where is the fuse box inside his car. I wanted him to check the fuse box to see whether the instrument display fuse has fused or whether is really the connection that is wrong. He will be coming to my house later to let me troubleshoot. I hope I can get some confirmation before i connect the green/white(car) to orange/white(HU) and black ground(HU) to screws that I can find inside the dash.

Hi, my HU, 2 days, can't play anything, out of sudden.... dunno why.... the whole unit just not working at all, radio also cannot play. even got no display lit up when start car engine. like there is no power connection to the unit. at first, the sound/music is breaking when i play radio or CD. i notice that if the car is at free gear, the sound/music is ok, normal. But when i engaged 1st gear and start to move car, the sound/music will keep breaking away..... I'm using a short shifter. Then i keep trying to continue to use the HU. then suddenly, the whole unit got no display and nothing works already. no radio, no CD, no display lit up. 1st time, i encounter this problem. any reliable and "no nonsense" audio shop, can recommend? i using rockford fosgate brand unit. no CD changer and woofer. just a single CD player. at the same time, my air con compressor is "dying" already. making alot of noise already. Does it got anything to do with the HU problem?
