  1. Hi brothers, I was just wondering, if it is possible to have a baby chair in a 2 door or a 2 door convertible. Thinking of switching to a another car, but need to find out first. Is it possible in the first place, and if not, is it terribly inconvenient? Can you share your experience? Thanks in advance!
  2. My kid is almost 2 and she loves "Monkey preschool lunchbox", what other apps u can recommend?
  3. Wow lau! Now taxpayer money is giving to foreign babies! Reminds me of andy lau's bandit movie "take $, take land and take the women!"
  4. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...y_passerby.html A two-year-old toddler survived a fall from the tenth floor of a building after being caught by a passer-by in Hangzhou, China. Two-year-old Niu had been left alone at home after her grandmother went out to run some errands. The toddler woke up from her nap and climbed onto the windowsill in an attempt to find her grandmother. A neighbour on the ninth floor had noticed Niu dangling from the window and tried to reach her using a ladder but was unsuccessful. Wu Juping, a passer-by, rushed across the street to catch the toddler just as Niu lost grip on the windowsill and fell ten stories down. STOMPer guardianangel says: "The fact someone would sacrifice so much just to save a complete stranger is so heartwarming. "She broke her arm in the process because she absorbed the impact of Niu's fall. "Wu Juping has a seven-month-old baby and said that at that very moment, all she could think of was how her own child had fell from a chair and bled a lot and how much worse the consequences would be if Niu fell from the tenth storey." This is really 用手劳动节
  5. Got your attention, did I? Seriously, today I saw the most retarded and irresponsible thing I've *ever* seen on the road. A maid blithely pushing a pram (complete with baby) across the major Kim Seng Road. Not even close to a crossing. Cars were screeching to a halt to let them through, and she was playing "frogger" through traffic moving at 60+km/hr. I gave her a good long blast of my horn just to let her know how much of a c*nt I thought she was. Foreign Trash putting themselves in harm's way I can sort of tolerate. That's their own business. But putting an innocent little baby at risk is where I draw the line. Makes me furious just thinking about it.

  8. ...I think by end week, 50 would have Singapore: The Workers' Party (WP) isn't just guilty of creating an "emotional dilemma" for the voters of Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC), it is also "playing with the lives of over 200,000 Singaporeans" who live there, said Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo. In an address laden at times with emotion at the Serangoon Stadium on Saturday night, Mr Yeo, who helms the People's Action Party's (PAP) five-member team in Aljunied, questioned the motives of the WP team and hit out at its election manifesto. "Not a single mention about what they are going to do for the people of Aljunied," he noted. Mr Yeo added: "I think they have deeper ambitions which is to use Aljunied GRC as a platform for greater things, for greater ambitions." The WP has urged residents to vote its team led by party leaders Low Thia Khiang and Sylvia Lim for a First World Parliament. Mr Yeo criticised the WP for saying it would unveil its plan for the constituency only after it was voted into Parliament - he likened it to "asking for a blank cheque". He doubted that the WP team's first concern would be their residents should it win. Politics, Mr Yeo said, should be about individuals and "improving human lives". At this point, his eyes reddened and he choked a little as he talked about how his team in Aljunied had been addressing residents' "daily worries", be it by building covered linkways and fitness corners for old people, or fighting the scourge of "ah longs" (loan sharks). The PAP team has drawn up detailed plans for the various groups of people living in Aljunied, he noted. If all politicians did was make speeches and "create unhappiness and disagreement", could this be good for Singaporeans? Mr Yeo wondered. "I'm not saying we should not discuss or debate issues. These issues are very important, whether it is about housing, costs of living, transportation, healthcare costs, education," he said. And he acknowledged that the government was not perfect. "We have shortcomings. There are areas where we must improve and put right," he said. "We must never be arrogant, we must always listen carefully, listen not only to words but understand what is inside the heart of people. Only then when we formulate policies, they will be well accepted." His team of PAP MPs have paid "a lot of attention" to constituents' needs, he said. As for the WP, Ms Lim was the only member who remained from the team that had contested Aljunied in 2006, he noted, wondering: How much did the Opposition party understand about the constituency? Mr Yeo also said he has received feedback from residents who said they would spoil their votes, torn as they were over the "emotional dilemma" the WP has presented them with by fielding its strongest candidates in Aljunied. He advised the residents against this, urging them to reflect carefully on the alternatives. "This is not an election about George Yeo versus Low Thia Khiang," said Mr Yeo. "We are not the important ones. You are most important, because it is you who gives us the authority to represent you in Parliament. And you must be our first responsibility."
  9. ESPN Latest : Nani misses out on PFA shortlist Manchester United winger Nani is reportedly the surprise omission from the list of six PFA Player of the Year nominees, although team-mate Nemanja Vidic is in contention. Vidic is up against Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, Arsenal's Samir Nasri, Gareth Bale of Tottenham, and two players from clubs that have struggled this season, West Ham midfielder Scott Parker and Blackpool talisman Charlie Adam, according to the Daily Mail. For the past four seasons, Manchester United players have taken the prize voted for by their peers, with Cristiano Ronaldo (2007, 2008), followed by Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney. Vidic will be hoping to maintain that streak but it is surprising that Nani, whose huge haul of goals and assists this season has been key to United's position atop the Premier League table, has failed to make the shortlist. There are no Chelsea players on the list despite the fact they are potentially third on the table, should their win the game in hand they hold over City. Cry baby how to be 'Player of the Year' ............ Should had award him 'Best Actor of the Field' .............
  10. I need some ideas which suitable books to buy and read for my baby girl. Thanks
  11. A light hearted remark with very serious undertones: The recent 9 quarters of property prices run have made a lot of paper millionaires. Similarly there are many who committed buying those properties at peak prices. Those prices can only move down from now on. With recent govt announced measures to cool the market, it seems that it may just work. But inside this govt toolbox there are plenty of other measures they are waiting to use to engineer a slow drop in property prices. It is in thier best interest that properties do not appreciate thogh they may say otherwise. Singapore's polpulatio increase is mainly at the base of the pyramid, mostly low salaried workers. Even though the rich do come and snap up pricier ones, their numbers pale to the widening base. Therefore the means would still hover around the same prices....no change. In the past I have posted that many WILL get their burnt. Many are. They are now stuck with properties they cannot dispose of. And like the share market, there will be some stubborn ones who die-die will hold on in the hope of a rebound. They just lack the balls to cut loss and move on. Otherwise they are in the rut for a long long time. Cannot move ...cannot do anything...life stops. But in the end they will selll at a huge loss because they have not discipline in making the right decisions early. I have advised those that I know of to make those quick decisions. It is better to have a smaller place that is fully paid up than a bigger one which continnues to incur mortgage which becoming depreciating assets. It is also better to cut and run and be able to take further participation when the market moves again as compared to being held ransom to the knowing threat of dropping prices. In a years time, lets see who is left holding the baby. Will it be you?

  13. What a tragedy, hope this will not happen in SG...... http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNew...007-240998.html Macaque abducts, bites and drops baby from roof Baby dies after monkey attack By Chitra S. Nathan and Lester Kong SEREMBAN, Malaysia - In mere minutes, a young woman turned from a happy mother to a grieving one when she lost her four-day-old baby to a wild monkey that was shot dead several hours later. At 1.15pm yesterday, the macaque stole into the living room; snatched the child and fled up the roof of the house. The baby fell to the ground and died. The mother, V. Revathy, 26, had left her first-born child in the living room of the single-storey house near Taman Happy Garden to use the toilet. The baby's body was discovered later outside the house with her face and neck badly bitten. She was rushed to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital here where she was pronounced dead. Revathi's father-in-law A. Valayutham, 70, was in the living room with the newborn but had gone to get a glass of water when the tragedy occurred. "We frantically searched all over the house and saw her body covered in blood lying outside the house," he said. Valayutham added that he had noticed a few monkeys outside the house compound at that time. The area where the family stayed was sandwiched between two residential areas with a foliage of trees nearby where there were monkeys. Negri Sembilan Wildlife and National Parks director Ishak Muhamad said the macaque was shot dead at 4pm. "We suspect the macaque was rummaging for food inside the house. It could have taken the baby to the roof thinking the newborn was food. "The baby died when it fell to the ground. The monkey had apparently released the newborn, probably because it was alarmed by the parents' shouts," Ishak said yesterday. He added that the parents had called the Fire and Rescue Department at 2.15pm, which immediately contacted the Wildlife and National Parks Department. "We reached the house at about 3pm and set off with the baby's father to look for the macaque," he said. Ishak said department officers saw the macaque in some bushes several metres from the house at about 4pm. The macaque was shot when it began to act aggressively. Ishak added that it was the first such case in the state, and believed the male monkey was attracted by a female kept in captivity as a pet by the family. "This is very unusual. Normally, these monkeys simply steal food or pluck fruit from the yard," he said. The baby's father, lorry driver V. Neru, 29, who was not at home when the incident occurred, said he could not believe that such a thing could have happened. "I rushed to the hospital only to be told that she was gone. "She was our bundle of joy and we were looking forward to spending many happy years with her ... I just cannot believe she's gone," he said. R. Shanty, 35, who lives nearby said it was common to see monkeys in groups of three or four in the area. "A while back, my pet dog was attacked by these monkeys. Its badly-bitten body was thrown from a tree. "I really hope the authorities take action and not wait until another life is lost," she said. Rahang assemblyman M.K. Arumugam, who visited the family yesterday evening, expressed regret over the incident. "I have brought this matter up before but sadly no action was taken. I am very disappointed that something like this had to happen before the authorities took notice," he said.
  14. What do you normally do when you see car in front display the 'baby in car' sign? i observe 2 extremes a) keep more distance from the car, no horning, give way..... b) overtake, horn.. since got baby inside, he dun dare to speed, play, horn.

  17. Thu, Jun 24, 2010 The Star/Asia News Network GEORGE TOWN: The authorities are investigating a vernacular newspaper report that a Year Three schoolgirl gave birth to a baby boy after she allegedly had an affair with her 14-year-old neighbour. State Health, Welfare and Caring Society Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said he was shocked to read the news in a Chinese daily yesterday. "I have since alerted all departments concerned under my portfolio to investigate the matter. This is a very serious matter. Having sexual intercourse with a minor is considered statutory rape," he said. Phee added that they only had sketchy reports with not much information, adding that his office had referred the matter to the police. "Any medical practitioner who delivered the baby boy must alert the state Health Department as the mother is said to be a nine-year-old. Those hiding information or abetting the crime will be charged. I appeal to those with information to come forward," he said. Penang deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said police had not received any report on the case. State Education Department director Ibrahim Mohamad said he had checked with all the school principals and they claimed there was no such case in their schools. "But I have been informed by my officer that there is a schoolgirl who had taken numerous MCs (medical certificates) before dropping out of school recently. I cannot ascertain whether the case is related. We will, however, investigate the matter," he said. According to the Chinese daily, the girl, who comes from a broken home, gave birth at a private hospital some time last month. The girl, the paper claimed, seemed mature for her age as she was big compared with other girls of her age. The report claimed that the boy's affair with the girl started when she was eight. The baby is said to be taken care of by the girl's grandmother, who disclosed the case to a non-governmental organisation that alerted the paper about it. -The Star/Asia News Network
  18. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...nts_at_mum.html STOMPer Irene came across this video in which a clinic staff was shouting at a woman carrying a baby. The woman had apparently barged into the treatment room while another patient was being attended to. The woman seemed to have misunderstood instructions from the counter personnel and thought that the clinic was refusing her treatment. In the video, the woman said in Mandarin that she thought the clinic staff was being very uncompassionate. She went on to admit her mistake. The STOMPer commented: "I'm totally disgusted by how the clinic staff member behaved. "It's unprofessional and unethical. "He should have been a little more compassionate in the handling of this situation. "It's none of her business that he hasn't had his dinner yet. "I won't ever to go that clinic again if I were the one who witnessed this incident." The STOMPer also highlighted this video to the authorities, but was disappointed that she received a bureaucratic reply asking her to do make a Statutory Declaration before the authorities would take any action: "It's sad that the authorities manage feedback channels in this manner. "It is not of my interest if action is taken against this clinic staff member. "Bureaucracy and red tape are the last things I wish to be involved in." 21. OK the other thread has some talk on pianos and how they compare to cars when it comes to mindset and mentality. Here in this video, the presenter tries to sell the Hailun baby grand piano. Notice how he doesn't talk down on Yamaha or Kawai. He recognizes these as very good brands, he compares the features of the equivalent models from each. What he is informing us is that there is a baby grand that is bang for buck for the sound it produces. Not many people know of Hailun and this is one piano brand and piano I will consider if my daughters level up.
