  2. korean say korean car sux SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 30-year-old Korean man, who lost his temper and beat up a taxi driver until he was unconscious, yesterday morning. The man, who was upset by a broken door handle, had also yelled at the driver for driving a "lousy car". The 48-year-old driver was taken to the hospital after his encounter with the irrate customer outside a hotel in Pasir Panjang. In an interview with Shin Min Daily News, the injured driver said that he had picked up the passenger after receiving a telephone booking. He said that the passenger, who spoke fluent English, shouted at him to drive to the airport, and threw his luggages into the car boot. Although the driver tried to coax him, the angry passenger refused to calm down, even breaking a door handle by forcefully pulling open the door. When this happened, the driver decided to call the police as the man's behaviour seemed unstable. When the man saw the driver step out of the taxi, he demanded to know why he was not taking him to the airport. Just then, the fired-up man also discovered the taxi driver trying to snap a photograph of him. It was then that the angered man charged at the taxi driver, knocked off his spectacles and punched him repeatedly on his head and back. According to Shin Min Daily News, the taxi driver blacked out but soon regained consciousness. When the passenger saw the taxi driver standing up, he ran up towards him and started to attack him again until he begged for the man to stop. The police arrived just as the man was trying to retrieve his bags from the car boot. Comfort Delgro spokesperson told Shin Min Daily News that the taxi driver did not provoke the passenger. The company would help the driver with medical bills and work with the police for investigations. http://www.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/Story...607-351182.html

  4. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...wife_in_jb.html Driver and GF hit pregnant woman, break window cover in quarrel over overtaking STOMPer Ah Boy said his pregnant wife and him were attacked by a fellow Singaporean driver and his female companion in Johor Bahru, just because of an overtaking incident. The STOMPer wrote: "I went to Johor Bahru to pump petrol on Sunday (Oct 2) when a fellow Singaporean driver came out to quarrel with me after I overtook him. "He ended up hitting me but I took it as I had wanted to let the problem just go by. "His girlfriend actually hit my pregnant wife. "As if beating me up is not enough, he broke my window cover and went to complain to the Malaysian authorities. "I felt so ashamed when the mechanics at the Malaysian workshop I went to for repairs laughed my story off because they claimed that Malaysians, no matter how bad, don't beat up their own people." i think maybe is never queue up and knock into people car. thats why people angry

  6. Honda Beat Successor in the Works... Roadster Coming in Late 2013 Quote AutoWeek We've heard rumors about a new Honda roadster for a while now. Auto Express is now reporting that Honda is definitely planning a new roadster that will combine the best of Honda's car and motorcycle technologies. The new roadster will be a successor to the Beat roadster from the Nineties. The front-wheel-drive, two seater roadster will be based on the same platform as the CR-Z hybrid, but will have a smaller body. It's expected to take styling cues from the OSM concept car. What will power the new roadster? It's rumored that it will be powered by one of Honda's next-generation 1.3L or 1.5L VTEC engines, but a hybrid version is not planned. The engine is expected to be mated to Honda's first ever dual clutch transmission. The Honda Beat will be released in late 2013 and will be targeted at the Mazda MX-5. Unlike the original Honda Beat, the new one will be sold worldwide. Unquote
  7. Ken..... do you own this shop?
  8. I think this must be a newbie driver with a new car (SKA plate) Very colly drove through a red light - caught all the other traffic by surprise, luckily the rest were alert or there could have been a serious accident.
  9. Why only casino losers get publicized? How about the winners who won average $10k a night? Why not give them fame??? Headlines like God of Gambler who started with $200 and brought home $10000 Stupid local news... only like to shame people.
  10. hi i captured on my car video on a truck pulling a trailer that speeds up & beat a redlight in sengkang on a 2 lane neighbourhood small road. How i know it speed up.. Well i was travelling ahead of the truck beside it at maybe 50 or 60km/hr n the truck was in full view on my rear mirror so i guess that like 20m ahead, then when i approached the redlight i came to a complete stop & after maybe 1 second the truck zoom past my car on full speed beating the redlight that was already red for maybe 2 seconds or so. Confirmed if there is any vehicle that travels pass sure die even if also a big truck. Asfter the light turn green, i drove off n the same truck was at the next redlight n my car recoder managed to take him in full view. Now the question is whether i shld submit this video to the authority? My wife feels that what if i submit & the person loses his licence hence his job? What do u guys think?

  12. Read this zaobao article online about a guy who got caught of getting scapegoats for his traffic offences. Since the article is in Mandarin, I will try my best to translate it so that our non-Chinese speaking bros can understand: A 50-year old executive was charged in court for paying scapegoats to cover up his 2 traffic offences. However he did not know that the "electronic eyes" high-speed cameras are capable of capturing even the driver's face features in addition to the license plate numbers exposed his deeds. These cameras are capable of 360 degrees orientation and can zoom in up to 21 times. And the reviewers can focus on what the driver is doing e.g. eating, talking over a moblie or digging his/her nose through the footages. And the whole island has 5000 of these gadgets. (End of rough translation) Not sure if these cameras are the same ones we see at all traffic light junctions. Also they did not mention those mobile ones TP is using. My purpose of bringing this up is as follows: (i) Never beat the red light; (ii) If unfortunately you do, NEVER GET A SCAPEGOAT! Cheers and have a nice weekend! http://realtime.zaobao.com.sg/2010/09/100918_35.shtml
  13. Chio a 335i for a short sprint today and managed to beat him by quite a margin (something like 10m) when I hit 100KM/H. As I push to 150-160, the 335i couldn\'t keep up at all. It really feels good man. Read about all that 335i power here in MCF but its nothing much leh. MY car is a modded S13....SR20DET power!....hehe.....

  16. Hi all, On a 3 lanes roads, I was driving on the centre lane behind a motorcycle. Infront traffic, about to change from amber to red, seeing that the motorcycle infront has been consistently fast, I thought it would cycle past the amber light. But to my horror, it jammed brake at that split second, I have no choice but to quickly filter to the right (happened to be empty) to avoid collison and quickly dashed through the red light at 100km/h. At dashing, the red light was probably on for 1~2 secs and there was a camera pole there. Though I didn't see any flash, I suspect I might have kena already. Sian lah, almost CNY liao, this kind of thing happened to me. Moody now . Anyone has such experience before? Regards,

  18. Three other teams were in the running to secure the sponsorship backing of the state-owned Malaysian oil company Petronas in 2010. Vice president of corporate services Ahmad Nizam Salleh revealed that, as well as considering staying with Sauber, Petronas looked into supporting Williams or Lotus. Ultimately, Petronas signed a long term deal to become title sponsor at Mercedes GP, although Salleh told the Bernama news agency that the sponsorship will be reviewed "from year to year for the next five years". "Four teams were short-listed -- Williams, Sauber, Mercedes and Lotus," he is quoted as saying by The Star newspaper at Mercedes' livery launch in Stuttgart earlier this week. "But Mercedes offered the best package and what they asked for was quite attractive," Sallah added. He said the decision to sign with Mercedes was made before Michael Schumacher agreed to return to F1 this year with the German marque. "Schumacher's return makes for bigger visibility and it is an unexpected mileage for us," said Salleh. "We heard rumours that he was thinking of coming back to F1 when we started the negotiations, but he was still attached to another team (Ferrari) and we had no inkling at that point that he was signing up," he added.
  19. This morning I was around bishan area. Saw a taxi beat red light just to pick up passenger. Cuz he saw a taxi from another direction signalling to turn right where the passenger was trying to flag down a taxi. So when he saw the road clear only he just floored the accelerator and picked up the passenger.

  22. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_450343.html SINGAPORE put in a commanding performance to beat Indonesia 3-1 in an international football friendly at the National Stadium on Wednesday. With both teams equally matched in terms of technique, strength and fitness, it was the Lions' set-pieces that made the difference. Shaiful Esah earned the plaudits by setting up all three goals from dead balls in front of 6,017 fans at Kallang. The left-back's free kicks in the 10th and 21st minutes were headed home by strikers Aleksandar Duric and Noh Alam Shah. Shaiful created the third with a 52nd-minute corner that was met by Duric, who made no mistake with his header. Indonesia pulled one back through midfielder Eka Ramdani in the 13th minute. The win is a morale booster for the Lions, who face Thailand next week in the Asian Cup qualifiers. Noh Alam Shah is really good...sometimes i wonder what is he doing playing in the Indonesian league...he should be playing in EPL or some Euro League
  23. As taken from here. Such people really are road hazards. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...t_junction.html
  24. At only 658 cc, but developing 54 BHP - that's 82 BHP/litre! Few 'normal' NA engines come close to 82 BHP/litre ... unless we crossover to the >100 BHP/L Type-R VTEC territory. A comparison of some current NA engines: Suzuki Swift Sport (1.6L): 77.5 BHP/L Honda Fit 1.5 RS: 80.2 BHP/L Honda Civic 2.0 Si: 77.5 BHP/L Mini Cooper (1.6L): 75 BHP/L Suzuki's Lapin engine is pretty close to BMW's engine design capability, with Double VANOS + Valvetronic: 325i: 87 BHP/L Caveat: Its only 3 cylinders / 12v DOHC But then, if FC and road tax are paramount (e.g. in these times of inflation and imminent recession), this may be it for non-turbo engine afficionados!
