  1. Hi brothers and sisters here, pls be warn of this idiotic taxi driver from Smart taxi company. The is what happen. There is a three lane road from Marine Parade to Amber road.If those who frequent that road knows that there is a round-about at the end of the road. This taxi driver, driving on lane 1,which the far right lane, and i was on second lane, the middle lane. This taxi was behind me all along and just infront of him, roughly less than 1m away in front of him, there is a van,i think is a suzuki 1.3L van, turning at around 50km/h.The climax is here, the taxi driver swerve left without checking blindspot and exited to amber road.I emergency brake and nearly crash into him.He didnt even bother and drive away.Lucky the sliver cab behind me stop in time,if not the one who injured is not the arse taxi driver, and it's my passenger and the sliver cab behind.Any one can tell me how can i go about removing this driver from the road?I intend to lodge a complain to traffic police.

  4. Saturday, 3rd March 2007, 12:00pm+ Yew Tee Close. Outside Yew Tee MRT. I dropped my wife off to do some errands near Yew Tee MRT. I waiting in my car parked along the road, Yew Tee Close. Caught up with some ZZZzzz. Was awakened by a knock sound on my car, then saw somebody walk close beside my car. He looked kind of suspicious, so I kept my eye on him. He proceeded to the next car infront of me, and tried to open the front driver door. Then to the next car and so on. At least 6-cars he tried to open the door. When he noticed me staring, he walked away. Few minutes later he came back round this time directly to a car which had just parked behind me. He went straight for the drivers door. But when I stepped out of my car, to confront him he briskly walked away into the pasar malam. I managed to whip out my camera phone and caught a picture of him walking away (sorry not very clear though). In my opinion (no racial descrimination intended) he look like a malay youth, about 170cm and 50+kgs, dressed in white polo t-shirt and blue jeans, wearing a pair of sun glass over his eyes and another pair of sunglasses around the next facing behind. Carrying a sling bag. P.S. how to post photo here. Thanks.
  5. Hi dudes, need to get a few such decals to paste on the windows of my car as I have vandals lurking near my neighbourhood. Anyone can kindly tell me where to get it?
  6. Dear MCF Brothers & Sisters, Check your car after you have driven through/ over Object/ Thing on road. This is what happen, about 2 days ago when i was driving & noticed a Bird was in the middle of my lane, as usual i will just go straight. After that i'll glace through my rear view mirror make sure i did not hit it, there isn't anything so i have a quick glace my surrounding & NO sign of that Birdie. After that i've forgotten about it. This morning after i dropped my wife to work, parked my car & walk out. I was CHOKED by these awful smell & deep inside me didn't feel right. I open the bonnet: Wow MAN that SMELL, next i found this bird stuck on my radiator. So Sickening! Tried using water to flush it out but can't be done finally, use a plastic bag & took it with my hand.... Feel very very SICK cos it still quite soft...... So Remember
  7. Bright and early in the morning and these Traffic Police outsourced enforcement officers from CISCO are already hard at work. I saw a total of 7 cars being summonned. No point being penny wise and pound foolish. Try to save 50 cents but end up being S$30 poorer. * See the ticket on the Swift and the 2 CISCO oficers chatting in the bkground?
  8. as usual, caveat emptor. Dropped by SLT to pick up a simple fuse and sub grille. Inquired about the new Boston S60 series but shopkeeper refused to name the price and directed me to some Diamond Audio M3s! ok no problem. played it, sounded ok only. But he offered $140 for it so I thought, why not? Maybe my amp and cables can make those sing. Cheap also what :) Everything looked really genuine at 1st sight :) felt hefty and labels all ok. No warranty though and no manual. Was enticed to buy the rodek platinum 2.5 at $120 as well (i needed an amp to drive the rear speakers since i would be upgrading my coaxial to the rear and new diamond component to the front.) Paid total $260 for it and the shopkeeper threw in 6m of power cable. Went home and checked online. saw the thread on fake m361s. Realised that the box looked a little different from the originals online and saw that the crossover did not state m361 but was m36.1x instead. turned the speaker over and saw the serial number exactly the same as this site: http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2006-10DStd4013396.htm exact serial number! Got a friend to go to the shop to check out the rest of the diamond audio there. All the boxes same serial number! Refered to the instructions pdf on diamond audio website, original m361 shows 50 watts nominal and 100 watts max and not 60 watts nominal and 120 watt max. Also, the m361 on the original diamond audio website shows a dual coil m361 driver but the fake one offered was a single voice coil. Bo pian, went back to the shop and tried to avoid a confrontation intending to return both the amp and the diamond m361 Just claimed that my HU cannot support so many amps. Shopkeeper immediately refused to refund me or change items and offered me a FREE pre amp to connect to my HU with limited pre outs! so good meh? I claimed that doing so would mess out the soundstage etc. So I looked around and I said, why not i take a 1 farad cap that he quoted me $75 for earlier and then he refund the rest. Suddenly, the $75 1 farad cap increased in price to $190! And he said that if I took the cap, he would only refund me $50-$60! I almost lost my temper and my voice changed abit. I claimed that it was absurd and that this is not the way to do business. Didn't want to waste anymore time, I offered him $50! This means that I return him everything and that he will just return me $210! He will earn $50 for nothing! That joker pretend to act here and there and finally, went out of the shop and then came back and said his boss claimed that he will settle this case for $60 + 3%GST cos I paid by card. In the end, He returned me just $192 :) I returned him all his junk and left. So this is how SLT does business huh? And worse, i called my bank, **** to tell them that the shop I bought the items from were selling fake products and that they misrepresented their products with the intent to cheat. The bank should stop the payment immediately while I make a police report and lodge a similar report to the local diamond audio distributor to support my case. The silly bank insisted that I could do nothing except return to the shop and try to neg with the shopkeeper for a refund. My reply was that if that establishment intended to misrepresent or cheat, so to speak, would there even be any room for neg? things would only turn ugly. the silly bank again claimed that there was nothing they could do. Let the shop charge and then dispute it later. I said that now we know that an offence was being committed and that we are able to stop this from happening and that I would provide alol supporting docs from the police and diamond audio but that clown of a bank insisted that the would rather and could only allow the errant shop to charge and cheat and get away with it then dispute it later rather than nipping it in the bud. I asked about credit protection for buyers but the bank's personnel remained silent. Credit card these days seem to be nothing more than a hefty loan/cash advance with bonus points. Whatever happened to buyer's credit protection? nevertheless, i'm digressing. Bad incident but i will not name the shop here. I however urge all to practise common sense when shopping at SLT. If its too good to be true, it almost always is. some might argue that it does not matter if its fake, so long as it sounds good and if one is happy with the way it sounds then its ok. i disagree. Why would I pay $8000 for a faqke rolex imitation watch that could be had for a meagre $200 and be ok with that? after all, if I follow the aforementioned statement, the fake rolex would work and tell the time as well! but hey, when i pay $8000, i want a real rolex and not a fake. in this case, I would not even pay $3000 for a fake rolex. edited to cover the name of the silly bank since nowadays in singapore, banks got nothing better to do than to sue ppl over the lsightest matter. maybe to squeeze us dry.

  12. Everyone please take note if you are considering to fix HO. DON'T!! I had a bad experience w HO. Upon receiving my car (pre-fixed w HO thru BMotors) I noticed a couple of air bubbles & peeling at the edges. Just fix & peeling, imagine after 2 yrs the film would look like sxxt! Anyway inform Infra via BM when doing 1k servicing. They did not replace but cut off the peeling edge! The best part the tried to CON me saying that they replaced the film. They must think customers like me are BLIND & RETARDED ! Told off the supervisor & they immediately replaced it. Problem now is after 1.5 mths, I noticed another peeling at the edge. And I found out when browsing their warranty that altho' stated 10 yrs, but in the sticker fine print, it over rule the 10 yrs warranty by stating that they reserve the right to refuse replacement file after 30 days! Or they can charge a norminal fee for replacement. sxxt ! spending $900 for shitty workmanship & now getting screw by them with fake warranty! Arrghhh, should have stick w V-Kool or Cool Lite. Or even X brand as long as workmanship is good. So please do tempt fate just avoid Huper Optik unless u enjoy being SCREWED!! [bigcry]
  13. 14. Hi, for those who are driving the new Lancer CS02/03, if install CDT CL62 at the rear, be careful of the two metal rod at the boot above. It will sure hit the magnetic cone of the speaker as the speaker lower area is rather big. I have encounter metal dangling noise when driving on bumpy road. It took me two days to diagnose the problem. My installer had glue a sponge on the magnetic speaker area so that when the boot is close, the two metal rod will only hit the sponge. Dunno how long can it last. I can see the two sponge now dented it. The noise had been reduce alot and can hardly hear when listening to HU song.

This fraudster wanted to sell me a pair of speakers, claiming it is brand new but no box blah blah blah. Ask him why sell and why no box? Told me some kok and bull story. Quoted me close to $400 and guaruntee me brand new. Luckily I didnt buy his story as I found it fishy. Not long after, saw his post somewhere. Selling the same speakers as 2nd hand for only $200 plus! I guess nobody bought his "story" so lan lan sell his 2nd hand speakers cheaper. Very good talker but managed to see thru his LOBANG! 17. Well guys, this 92/93 model Suzuki Swift GTI 1.3L 3 DR Hatchback is a road bully on the road. Here the story goes... Was cruising along PIE towards Changi after bypassing BKE exit before the Camera, this car was at the extreme right lane cruising at 70KM/H on a 80KM/H road!!! So, I drive closely behind to educate him to either giveway or accelerates since it's useless to high beam on a board day light which he ignore it until we drove pass the Camera, he is still driving with this kind of speed. Therefore, I lane change to overtake him, to my surprise, he accelerates to block my way!!! Hoooo..., it's been a long time since I pump onto this attitude driving style, manage to overtakes him and block his way to overtake me all the way to AMK exit. Again to my surprise, he drive onto the ROAD SHOULDER in order to overtake me as we are on the lane to AMK exit which I believe it's where he is heading!!! Similar to those losers at the North South Highway. What a damn good excellent shame loser...!!!Anyway, I believe he had install a Turbo in the car as I can see there is a lag while he gear change and launch. Really very annoying in the morning with this kind of road bullies around on the road. Committed an offense (Road Hogging) and yet trying to be funny on the road. Damn man, this driver should be off the road permanently. Well guys, any comments if you guys happen to pump onto this road bullies?
  18. DRIVER'S FRUSTRATION She wants auto car but gets manual one instead # Her copy of sales contract is different from that of the dealer # She claims she paid for auto car but dealer says otherwise By Tan Mae Lynn [email protected] -- HEDY KHOO MRS L C Loke and her husband paid for a new car but for three weeks, they refused to collect it. Because they thought were buying an auto-transmission model but ended up with a manual one instead. Mrs Loke, who got her driver's licence in Canada, cannot drive a manual car. The 31-year-old said: 'I cannot drive a manual, why would I get manual car? 'From the start we intended to buy an auto. I've never driven in a manual car before, I got my driver's licence in Canada. My lessons and driving test were all in an auto car.' So how did she end up with a car she cannot drive? And why is her copy of the sales contract different from the car dealer's? The dealer who sold her the Kia Cerato Sedan for $56,499 could not explain the discrepancy to The New Paper. The newly-married medical executive and her engineer husband, had gone to the dealer, test-drove an auto-car and paid. So imagine their shock when they went to collect their car earlier this month and found that it had manual transmission. The Lokes at first refused to accept the car. Mrs Loke said: 'Why should I accept the car? I cannot drive it.' But she is stuck with it. Cycle and Carriage (C&C), which handles the sales of Kia cars here, told The New Paper that the $56,499 paid by the couple was the price of the manual-transmission model. A check on the Kia Motors Singapore website indicates the current price of a Kia Cerato Sedan 1.6 Auto as $56,499. But Mr Thomas Lim, sales manager at the C&C Fulco branch, pointed out that the Lokes bought the car in December and there were fluctuations in COE prices. He added that the advertised prices of cars do not include insurance and finance charges. 'We also indicate in the ads there are terms and conditions,' he said. 'If consumers do not want financing or the one year insurance, then we will sell at exactly the price advertised.' But he could not explain the difference in the contract. The Lokes signed the deal on Dec 5. They were given a photocopy of the sales contract. The couple's photocopied version of the handwritten contract simply states the car model as 'Kia Cerato Sedan 1.6', but Mr Lim said his copy has it as 'Kia Cerato Sedan 1.6 M'. The 'M' stands for manual transmission. Mrs Loke said: 'There is no letter next to the car model indicated on our copy of the contract.' Mr Lim acknowledged: 'Her photocopied contract was without an 'M', but the price that we sold as stated in the contract is actually a manual model. 'There may have been a misunderstanding between parties.' Mrs Loke complained: 'We paid that amount of money thinking we were going to get an auto car... When we saw the manual car, we were even willing to top up money to get an auto car but the dealer told us they couldn't do anything about it since the car had been registered.' Now she can only scrap the car or resell it if she doesn't want it. Mr Lim said everything is explained to customers before they buy a car. He added that the salesman who assisted the Lokes had duly explained the process. Mrs Loke agreed that the insurance charges and financing were explained to them, but insisted that the salesman never told them that the price that they were paying was for a manual car. LTA APPEAL Mrs Loke later asked the dealer to appeal to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to have the car registration cancelled. But their appeal was rejected. (See other report.) Mrs Loke admitted that she and her husband, being first-time buyers, only checked the car model but did not check for other details in the sales contract. On the mix-up, Mr Lim said: 'Yes, we accept partial responsibility. But as a buyer, you must also be aware of what you're buying.' For three weeks, the couple refused to accept the car. They finally relented and collected the car on Jan 25 because her husband felt it was a matter of 'cutting losses', since the car has been registered and instalment payments had to be made. COMPENSATION FROM C&C As a goodwill gesture, Mr Lim said they have given the couple some compensation to resolve the dispute amicably. The compensation package includes one-month instalment on the loan worth $550, car accessories worth $950, one full tank of petrol and $200 in cash. Mr Lim said: 'It's something that she and the sales representative have agreed on. We tried to be fair and she has accepted the package.' As for Mrs Loke, she said it was fortunate that her husband is able to drive a manual car. She said: 'The plan was for us to drive to work, he'd get off first since he works close to our home and then I'd drive to work. We are planning to start a family next year, and the car is meant for me to shuttle around for the family. Now I have a car that I cannot even drive. It's been a very expensive lesson.'
  19. Beware !!! Drivers using Shell card and escape points will know...... Shell recently sent us promotional leaflets and include a 10% discount voucher for petrol. The coupon indicated that "$2.00 redemption for $20.00 purchase" and a huge 10% printed on the voucher. Also printed "minimum purchase is $20.00"; all looks innocent enough for un-suspecting drivers. What Shell meant was even if you pump $40.00 into your car, you still get a $2.00 redemption. So drivers beware when you intend to use the coupon, you can get better deals with even a 6% or 8% discount.
