  3. Is it generally true that when we upgrade we tend to buy the next car with bigger cc? Does this make sense? When we upgrade it means we are moving towards a better option? Big cc cars mean worse oil consumption do you really need a 2L car in Singapore the only difficult hill to climb is Mount Faber how many of us drive to Mount faber most of us are already past the pat tor stage already
  4. Hi Bros, Do you need to find tune the ECU if you use a bigger set of wheels? A friend of mine realised that after using 17" wheels for a while, his mileage count increase relatively rapidly. Once he has switched back to 15" wheels, he found that the milegae meter increase at a slow rate. Is there any truth in this? Regards,
  5. really happy to see that SOG (wonder have the name been changed?) have come leaps and bounds from the old days. this might be boring to so, but I just have to give it to Pete and Lightspeed for giving SOG a 'fresh coat of paint' and see so much more events and activities. Most heartening to see is that we have members who got married recently and have a Skoda convoy! In the past, meet up is mainly just as it is, members who come and have coffee and chit chat, and that's it. no opening up of bonnet to see who got a bigger turbo, upgrades, and such. and meet up is just a few cars and members each time only. And when members start to start to post a new topic, most likely then not it is for some problem they encounter with their skoda. Now not only chit chat and drinks, you guys have some naughty events as well, (i am still waiting to download the video) also like BBQ and wedding convoy. although i have change my ride twice since my 1st and only skoda, this place still have fond memories for me. and i believe it will grow stronger and better! Cheers to all past, current and future skoda owners!!!
  6. maybe an old topic here but i cant quite find it. anyway, although bigger wheels have more rubber contact, but then the weight also increases and we all know extra weight hurts handling too. apart from the getting lighter rims alternative, do bigger wheels really improve handling? from my own experience, bigger wheels def improves road feel...but turn in is slower and i really cant feel the car handling is better, may be due to the add on weight. any opinions?
  7. Hi Bros, 1. Which in your opinion is a better mod in term of braking power and lesser risk to affect the ABS? 2. By the way, is it expensive to switch from drum to disc brake? Thanks. Regards,
  8. Toyota makes RAV4 bigger, more premium Larger SUV is aimed at a growing segment of upscale vehicles Automotive News / February 6, 2006 - 6:00 am LISBON, Portugal
  9. The Brera's convertible version, the Spider really does the beautiful front end justice. The Brera looks quite a bit like a hatch to me, but the Spider really brings the beauty out. The 159 Wagon's rear is pretty much similar to the current one but the slight tweak in design is just enough to give it a fresher look. First up, the new pants-wetting Alfa Spider. I think i just wet myself. Personally am no convertible person. I canNOT visualise myself driving around town with the top down and having everyone look at me. But the Spider is sooo drippingly chio. I can't wait to lay hands on one... Argh. I wanna see it in the flesh. "Available in two versions, the client can choose his or her Alfa Spider to be fitted with the sparkling 185 bhp 2.2 JTS engine or the powerful 260 bhp 3.2 JTS." Now the beautiful-but-failed-to-wet-my-pants Alfa 159 Sportwagon
  10. issit true tat using a bigger rim de fuel comsumption is high???
  11. My exhaust pipe exit below my bumper looks tiny... Is it legal to cut off the whole piece and weld a nicer cosmetic pipe straight to the muffler box? Or can I cut till leaving a short pipe, then bolt the bigger pipe to it for legalities sake?
  12. I would like to upgrade my brake system in my new Civic when i get it mid of feb... Thing i would like to do is to change the brake line into steel braided one n change to larger rotor with red colour four pot caliper... Will it affect my car warranty?? any suggestion or feedback on the workshop which does this n recommended brake system?
  13. Anyone of you installed a bigger alternator in your car before. Saw one guy who did it and I must say I'm impressed. His headlights are so damn bright and they are not H4 bulbs. When he turns off the lights, the lights just don't go off. They dim slowly. Powerful!
  14. I've a full size 65Ah battery that I am seeking to swap with a smaller size battery, coz need the extra space for new project It's changed on Sept'2003, and seeking a similar age battery.
  15. Fact or Myth? A bigger car battery is better for the car than your normal car battery? I read about it somewhere before but forgot about it. Of course your engine compartment need to have space for the bigger battery
