  1. There are 12 tires attached to four vehicles in the following video. All twelve tires are up to the task of delivering a serious amount of enjoyable action. The video is from Icon Motorsports, and it pits two motorcycle riders against a cop whose patrol car is a bit unorthodox. There's also a remote control truck that gets in on some of the action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te0V71sGoxA The car is a 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra that comes complete with serious drifting angles and a delicious supercharger whine. Like the car though, the bikes see fit to get just as sideways. Almost as wonderful as the driving action, however, is the road that it all unfolds upon. Apparently Oregon is hiding a motoring slice of heaven that needs to be explored in more detail. It's a twisty stretch of tarmac that has us drooling, and it's a perfect way to kick off a work week. It's also a hell of a way to advertise your products... well done, Icon.
  2. Ever since firing its CEO Dany Bahar in June 2012 and reporting a near $200 million loss, Lotus has sought to find solid footing. One way the British marque planned to achieve this was by entering the motorcycle business, promising to deliver a Lotus "hyper bike," built by German race team Kodewa and the Holzer Group, by the turn of the year. The storied sports car maker has become more of a branding company than the automotive innovator it once was, enlisting others to do the heavy lifting while licensing the Lotus name for the sheet metal. This was evident in the 2010 IndyCar season, slapping Lotus logos on the carbon body that covered the Honda powerplant (they did enter an engine in 2012, although I'm not sure Lotus wants to be reminded of that). In Formula One, the Lotus F1 team is powered by Renault, and according to Lotus' most recent press release, the C-01 bike "is not designed, engineered or produced by Group Lotus" at all. It remains another licensing deal where Lotus plays consultant, with Kodewa producing the bike and Holzer handling development. The glorious retro exterior was designed by Daniel Simon, the man behind the awesome glow-in-the-dark blue "Tron: Legacy" bike. It features carbon-fiber and integrated titanium, along with aerospace-quality steel. Powered by a 2-cylinder, four-stroke V-twin motor delivering 200 hp, weighing a tick under 400 lbs., the C-01 promises to be as racy as the Lotus name depicts. Only 100 bikes will be produced, and Lotus is yet to reveal pricing. (Translation: Outrageous.) A range of colors will be available, from the John Player Special black and gold from Senna's early years to the legendary British racing green from Jim Clark's latter. The Martini livery looks more Lancia than Lotus (Lotus had a darker background on its Martini F1 car), but it's nonetheless sensational. No word on whether luminous Tron blue will be an option. Does it matter that it's not technically a Lotus? Well, that depends on your view. What we know for sure is it's about as stunning a motorbike as one could imagine, which isn't surprising given its designer. It may not have the strongest business, but Lotus still knows how to get attention.
  3. Every driver and rider's worst nightmare. Be sure to watch all the way till the ending of Part II, where karma finally caught up with him. Please turn on the volume. 6. http://dai.ly/x15csdh Flash floods, seemingly, are increasingly common on our land stripped island. From the views of many pictures, and videos in some cases, we can safely say that we will never want to be in that situation. Imagine the muddy water that climbs to the height of your wheel arches and penetrates your cabin. Then, it kills your engine, and leaves you (and your car) in the middle of the road (which should look more like a lake by then) like a sitting duck. Then again, there are the more adventurous sort among us, as proven by the video. This man in Colorado met with a flash flood. However, he didn't quite believe what he saw and decided to take on the treacherous waters. Jump to the video to see who emerge winner in the end.

    What a close shave!

The above video best describes the phrase "escaping by the skin of your teeth". The incident took place in China on 22 Jan 2013 in the city of Linhai, Zhejiang Province. A biker was waiting at a cross junction when a container truck took a hard left turn and overturned. The biker, sensing the imminent disaster, moved his bike slightly backwards. Fortunately, the container missed him slightly and he escaped unharmed. Looking at the impact, the poor man might have a ringing tone in his ears for the next few hours but that is better than becoming a piece of human pancake. While waiting at the traffic junction, the bike was actually stationed beyond the white line, which I believe he is not supposed to do so although I am not very familiar with the Chinese traffic rules. After this encounter, I guess he would be more prudent.

  23. Jurong MP Desmond Lee falls, fractures arm at bike event AsiaOne Wednesday, Jul 18, 2012 SINGAPORE - Desmond Lee, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Jurong GRC Group Representation Constituency (GRC), has fractured his left arm after falling off a bicycle during the Bond & Bike overnight cycling event held on July 14 and 15. In a Shin Min Daily report published on July 17, Mr Lee was said to have been taking part in the awareness event organised by the People's Association Youth Movement and the Singapore Association for the Deaf. According to the paper, MP Desmond Lee had already begun cycling from East Coast Park and was in the vicinity of Kallang when the incident occurred. He told the paper that he had stopped to check his phone and was trailing about 20 metres behind the group of 150 cyclists. Mr Lee fell when he was making a turn and could not lift his bicycle when he got back up on his feet. The roller chain on his bicycle also broke in the fall. As he could no longer continue cycling, he decided to take a taxi back to East Coast, where his car was parked. There, he called his wife for help. Despite his wounds, Mr Lee did not think his injuries were serious, he told the Chinese daily. It was only when the pain did not subside the next morning that he realised something was amiss. A doctor told him that his left arm had been fractured, Shin Min reported. The MP also suffered from injuries and abrasions to his knee and arm.
  24. Apparently some people still cannot forget the $2.2k bike and went to CSI all the way. A long article here http://therealsingapore.com/content/breaki...owners-revealed Whether real or not, you decide. There was only 1 tender for the bikes over the chinese new year period... long story for those who has time.
  25. then He even managed to fix up the licence plate somemore.... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg..._motorbike.html Posted on 04 Jun 2012 Car broke down? No problem: This guy turns it into functioning motorbike When Emile Leray drove across the Sahara desert in his Citroen 2CV, it broke down halfway. Not wanting to be left stranded, he turned it into a motorcycle. Wrote STOMPer Fannypack: "This Frenchman is very ingenious! However, as they say, in times of need we really learn how to improvise. "This happened in 1993 and halfway across the Sahara desert his car broke down. "He had left the city of Tan Tan in Morocco and sort of flees the military there. The bumpy terrain and a rock makes his car break down. "The good news was, he had a toolbox and a hacksaw. "So he turned the car into a functioning motorcycle, and used the car body to shield himself from the harsh desert sandstorms and the elements. "The Citroen's swing arm and wheel axle were broken, so he salvaged the parts to make the motorbike. "Luckily he also had food and water to last him 10 days as the project took him 12 days and he only had half a litre of water left. "He also had to drive it in reverse and he had no drills, no blowtorches or welding equipment. "He screwed the parts together and bent pieces of metal 90 degrees, weakened the thinner areas using a hacksaw or a round file and punctured them with the hammer and punch to make the holes. "And by the way, it's called the Desert Camel. Emile made it out alive of course." Check out photos of Emile and his Dessert Camel in pics 1 to 8, while pics 9 onwards show how some Japanese guys turned an old Acura into a Ferrari.
