I have previously played Angry Birds (AB) but have since been addicted to SH It was fun hurling rocks, gunpowder, fire jars, oil barrels and even grappling hooks to destroy the enemies and their fortresses! Have completed all levels except Fortress Age Level 61 which I have tried for 3 days but still could not bring it down to earn the golden crown to unlock the bonus level Any bros have done it and can give a pointer or two? In the mean time still trying...

  6. What to do what to do? To avoid the bird without any accident is the best outcome but what if you cannot judge the road conditions clearly in the short period of time? I once horn at birds. Some fly, some don't. I try to slow down. But have to look out for cars behind Swerving to the side is very dangerous to me Really hope the bird is fine (I heard a small "kok" sound somewhere near the front bumper. :(
  7. I was under the impression that if you bring in small amount of cooked poultry, for own consumption from Msia, its ok. I was wrong . My roasted bird was confiscated by custom officers and was ordered to dispose them myself in the near by dust bin. Sorry bird, that you wont be ending up in my family's tummy. But instead the dust bin.
  8. please suggest a way as to how to ask a colleage of more than 10 yrs to leave for good. Reason for being: 1. lack of work commitment, eg. dozing off during work, late for appointment made with customers and often they have to wait for her in excess of 30mins. 2. not mending the shop and often wanders off to other places to do things not relevant to work. 3. uncountable complaints from customers Is not easy to sack someone u have known for so long. But its clear that she is no longer require and is actually a liability to the company. Please suggest a way or method
  9. SYDNEY: A Qantas Boeing 747 had to turn back to Johannesburg after one of its engines suffered a bird strike, the airline said Wednesday, the latest in a string of incidents to beset the Australian carrier. Qantas said the plane's number two engine lost power after sucking in a bird shortly after takeoff late Tuesday, with damaged turbines forcing an unplanned landing. There were 171 passengers on board. "The aircraft is being worked on by engineers," a Qantas spokesman told AFP. "It's just a bit of damage to some of the turbine blades, it's not a huge thing." One of Qantas' smaller Boeing 717s was hit by lightning on a regional flight between the Australian destinations of Alice Springs and Darwin hours earlier, causing "minor damage" to the exterior. The incidents follow the return to Sydney of a Qantas Boeing 747 bound for Buenos Aires on Monday after it suffered an electrical fault which caused smoke to pour into the cockpit. Qantas has been plagued with mechanical issues since grounding its fleet of Airbus A380s after an engine exploded on one of the superjumbos on November 4, forcing an emergency landing in Singapore. A Boeing 747 had to turn back to Singapore with a sparking engine the following day, and a Melbourne-bound Boeing 767 returned to the west coast city of Perth with engine vibration a week later. Qantas said Wednesday it hoped to have the A380 back in service "as soon as possible" but declined to give a timeframe for it. "We are working with Rolls-Royce to identify which engines need replacement components, or to be replaced altogether, as part of our inspection process," the spokesman said, referring to the engine manufacturer. Qantas experienced bird strikes two or three times a year and it was a "pretty rare occurrence", he added. A US Airways Airbus A320 ditched in New York's Hudson River last January after a bird strike on both of its engines, in an incident widely known as the "Miracle on the Hudson" because there was no loss of life. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1093986/1/.html

  12. Hi Bros and Sis, On the 6 Nov 09 at around 0815 hrs, I was driving my car along Mandai Flyover. I turned into the slip road from Mandai to BKE. At that moment I was driving slowly as there was a moderately high gradient leading into the expressway. A Jurong Bird Park tour bus (PA 5280 E) started to tailgate my vehicle and upon exiting the slip road into the BKE expressway, the bus driver suddenly acclerated, overtook and swerved 2 lanes to the left into my lane causing both his and my vehicle to enter the emergency lane road shoulder. That was a deliberate action of the bus driver in an attempt to get me off the road and make me crash my car into the side divider. I had to perform an emergency brake manoeuvre and almost got into a serious accident. I had my father on board, and there were tourists on board the bus as well. The vehicles lined up behind me also swerved toward the road shoulder to avoid an accident. Following that, the driver came down the bus to challenged me to a fight. He shouted loudly in hokkien "How you drive, you want to fight is it?" and banged on my car windscreen. I panicked but refused to come out of my vehicle for fear of my safety. There was a Honda Odyssey bro behind me almost bang by rear. If you were a witness, your pte message is greatly appreciated. I took 2 picts but due to my nervousness, didnt capture the driver. Also need bros and sis help, I have made a police report at NPP, police told me to concurrently email to TP on facts of case as well as picts. Is this normal procedure? I am very angry at the driver because it almost cost my life!! Anyone knows what might be the outcome? Thanks bros n sis!

    Bird story

came across this interesting article: These amazing photographs show the moment a mother bird saved her chicks from being washed away by using her own body as a dam. The mistle thrush had unwittingly built her nest on top of a downpipe, blocking the water's passage and causing the gutter to flood. Desperate to protect her young, the clever bird puffed herself up to twice her normal size and sat in the drainpipe to stop the tide of rain water swamping the nest. Amateur wildlife photographer Dennis Bright, who captured the scene at a house in Fareham, Hampshire, said he had never seen a bird do this before. 'The nest was tucked away from the weather in the shade of the roof but it was so close to the downpipe the gutter flooded when it rained,' he said. 'It was only a matter of seconds before the pipe flooded, and water cascaded over the sides'. Mr Bright said he was astonished by the bird's ingenuity. He said: 'She had to come up with a solution so she puffed herself up until she was twice the size of her mate and used her body as a cork to stop the water - it was absolutely amazing. 'She was very dedicated, sitting there even when the rain was hammering down. 'Then every half an hour she would get out, dry herself off and come back.' Her mate was left to feed their young and the mother herself, Mr Bright noticed. RSPB expert Hester Phillips said the society had heard of birds nesting in sites as bizarre as the top of traffic lights but she had never seen one in a situation like this. But she added: 'Birds can be amazingly hardy creatures, their endurance is incredible - especially when protecting their young. 'Mistle thrushes prefer natural nesting like tall trees or shrubs. If they can't find this natural habitat, they'll look for something which closely resembles it, and this small, secluded spot appears to do the job.' Despite their precarious beginning in life the four chicks were perfectly healthy and all flew the nest successfully. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...-drainpipe.html

  18. Hi fellow MCF pals, today was a unlucky day for me. The bird droppings hit my bonnet leaving tiny small marks and it's almost the same as melted plastic. When I run my nails on it, I could feel it and it's visible during day time. I'm aware that bird droppings are very acidic especially black crows. Greatly appreciate if anyone could provide some advices or remedies to it. Hopefully I don't need to have the entire bonnet resprayed. Many thanks.

  22. Hi all, The story goes like this... Last week i found a small mynah bird standing on the steps of a staircase so i approach the bird see see if its injured. Instead the bird open its mouth thinking i have food or something, and it doesnt fly. So i figured its still a very very young bird that fell off from the nest... Afraid that the bird will become cat's food so i brought the bird home. And then ive been feeding it ever since. So everyday the bird just go whereever i go and it stands on my hands and shoulders but i cant leave it walking around the house because it shits everywhere! And i have a dog so i cant risk my dog eating the birdshit, So i bought a cage for the bird.. Then everyday the bird kpkb kpkb and makes alot of noise until i let it out of the cage to feed it. So i was thinking maybe i set it free! So i brought the bird to the field and the bird flew and flew for a few rounds and then landed infront of me! Then crows started to circle around us and from far can see cats looking at us. And so... the bird stand on my shoulder and we went home yet again. i already have a dog and a hamster and i dont really have time to attend to the bird, everyday have to rush home thiking the bird will get hungry, wa really quite tiring. Anyone here is a bird lover and willing to take in the bird? Or any advices? If i just leave it in the wild will it die? Normally birds will fly away even before u get near them but this one wont!
  23. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/viewPost5527.aspx Looks like the bird poop problem in this place quite bad. The place where I park also got this problem... though not as many droppings.. the droppings are HUGE (i really mean HUGE) and disgusting with grey/brown/green matter in it. Seems like from some huge bird. Every morning when I go towards my car I'll be praying hard that my car was not bombarded. What to do... why birds like to lau sai??
  24. maybe its only i myself experience before but there are some really "powerful" ones i find it extremely tough to clean it off after it hardened, and when i kena them, i noticed that it is always the crows that are circling in the vicinity...
