  5. May 27, 2008 Motorists advised to avoid Shangri-La Hotel areas from Fri to Sun Slow traffic is expected with road blocks and security checks in place when security conference goes into full-swing Motorists are advised to avoid Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road from Friday to Sunday as road blocks and security checks will be set up to ensure the safety of those attending an international security conference at the Shangri-La Hotel. Delegates from 27 countries, including ministers, chiefs of army and heads of organisations from the Asia Pacific region, will be attending the three-day 7th IISS Asia Security Conference to discuss defence and security issues from May 30 to June 1. During this period, police said traffic flow along Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road is expected to increase, especially during peak hours. Although these roads are still open to the general public, motorists should avoid them and plan their journey early as slow traffic is expected. Motorists proceeding to Stevens Road from Tanglin Road are advised to use the alternative route via Scotts Road, while those going to Orchard Road from Stevens Road and Balmoral Road should use alternative roads via Scotts Road. EMAS Traffic Information Boards will be used to inform motorists of the expected heavy traffic flow. As parking facilities at Shangri-La Hotel will be limited, visitors to the hotel are advised to car pool or take public transport during this period. Strict enforcement action against vehicle owners for illegal parking will be taken along the affected roads, including towing, police warned. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...33.html?vgnmr=1 -------- how come they cannot hold thier meeting inside changi prison or pedra braca? must kacheow pple.. so how, so inconvenient, at least compensate us like those cornwell familee.

  7. Hi all, I would like to ask a few questions. Hope can help. BTW, my genre of song is either audiophile or Chinese slow pop song like those from Jolin Tsai, Cai Chun Jia, Jay Chou and etc. My current setup is only 10' Twister sub which I transfer to my new car and the accoustic doesn't seem to fit in that well as compare to my previos Lancer. I did a few tuning and seem ok. Just like to upgrade to 12' DVC sub with good midbass easily blended in. 1. How come some say sub running at 4ohm sound better than 2ohm? 2. Since my current 2 ch Twister amp is running at 300W RMS bridge at 2ohm, I dun think my amp can drive RF P3 sub, unless I get RF P2. Is that so? 3. I'm considering a few sub. RF P312D2 or RF P312D4, Soundstream XPro-12 or JBL (need to do research). IDMax and SW300 seem like too ex for me. Any other good choice that affordable? 4. Any good and not so expensive mono block that I can change so that I can have more choice of sub? Currently thinking of Soundstream LW 1.800. Any other better choice? 5. To choose a proper sub, wat config I need to take note? Efficiency frequency? My config 1. Pioneer PR80. 2. Audison LRX 4.1 3. Front Focal 165KF 4. Rear Helix Dark Blue 6.2 5. Twister TW 275 Pro (2x300W 600W Max, 2 ohm 2 x 150W) 6. Twister 10' DVC sub.

  12. hullo all, I'm driving a Getz 1.6M. I'm getting a very high pitch screeching sound coming from the engine block. Can be heard very clearly with windows wound down and when passing another vehicle or a wall, the sound just rebounce back to the cabin. When accelerating or or engine braking, the sound will come on. Just now went to open the bonnet and push the throttle cable...can hear the screeching sound very clearly. When on a standstill at idle is fine, free gear rolling with brakes on also no sound - cannot be brake pads worn right? only 10k on the odo. Any idea what cud this be due to? Did servicing with new ngk copper plugs, Schaeffer 5W30 at 9800km now 10300km...

  16. My mechanic noticed that my rear left and right tyre inner tread block closest to the car body is wearing off unevenly - higher, lower, higher, lower...... This first mech told me is due to the rear suspension problem and need to be change. The second mech told me my Conti Contact EP tyre is not meant for Singapore weather and thus the uneven wear off. My rear passenger did told me he feel bumpy sitting behind. So, this problem is firstly due to the suspension or the tyre itself. Or is of other reasons. Please advise me. Thank you.
  17. After much much delay .... I've finally made it here :-P To those that I know: HELLO To those that I dunno: HELLO TOO Anyway, I am driving a '99 Nissan Sunny VIP Recently, I observe some rhythmic, consistent mechanical sound coming from the engine block, left hand side. Initially, I suspect it's the pulley and belt, but on closer observations, it doesn't seems like it ... it seems to come from inside the engine block. It can even be heard at idle ! BTW, Engine mount looks ok .... Any expert can shed some light here ?
