  6. Hi ppl, Do you know where is the cheapest place I can get body car stickers done up on my car somewhat like those taxis? Meaning, full body wrap. I think the industry call the technology vinyl stickers whereby it will leave no mark should I decide to remove it. Qn1: Where can I get it done on the cheap in Singapore? The designs are my own customized designs. How much is it roughly? Qn2: Are there any LTA guidelines on these car stickers/ or vinyl stickers or car wrap whatever you call it. Any rules like the window cannot be covered? (If you have no idea what I am talking about, think of those BMW art cars..) Thanks ppl, your answers to my queries will be much appreciated!

  14. bros and sis, heard so many times that such and such make is heavier so it is more stable at high speed. I thought about it for a moment, it is not the only thing that make a car stable. I just reason out with my limited physics knowledge. Please anyone chip in with your thoughts. A heavier object need higher force to get the moving and once it is in motion, it take larger force to slow it down. for example, at Mini Cooper needs less braking power comparing with a Mercedes limosine in order to stop from 100km/h to 0. why? I think the answer is inertia. Inertia can work in favour of the Merc in the scenario where by , eg. both car hit a brick the size of a fist. the mini has to fight very hard to stay on course. but the Merc could be not affected so much. by telling the uninformed about stable at high speed , it is only tiny bit of the whole picture. F1 car 600+kg only, they are stable and agile. The moral of the story is, there is a lot more that just weight to make a car stable at high speed. and weight is not neccesary a good thing. when the SE try to sell a heavy car, listen carefully. weight -> drink more petrol, only contribute to the inertia and momentum which can be good or bad. depends on what that car is for. :) stablility-> tyre grip, aerodynamics setup, suspension setup, centre of gravity.. just my thoughts.
  15. Hi there, 1. Anyone know of reputable workshop that does TB servicing? 2. My understanding is STAR is charging $98 to cleans injector, intake valves and combustion chamber. Should we incorporate TB servicing as part of our maintenance routine to restore lost power and acceleration? Regards,

  21. Just caught up with an old friend last night and he was telling me that he traded in his 2000 Corolla 1.6A 6 mths ago for only S$40K to Tan Chong Motors for a Latio. His Corolla was just before its 6th year and he enjoyed 120% PARF. Tan Chong Motors paid him only a pathetic S$1,000 for his Corolla's body, which I felt was on the very low side. Japan made Corolla body is always in demand worldwide. Buyers beware!
  22. Hi All Been looking around for 2nd hand car (2006) and this is what I found so far: eg Vios Apr 2006 http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2EtCYaq1-1070.html COE $11,904 OMV $12,143 asking price : $44,988 now to date I have never been able to grasp this magical concept of body value. I did ask a scrap dealer how much he would offer body value for the car above and was quoted around 11K. so the actual worth of this car (paper value +body value) of this car is: 11,209 (coe) + 0.75x1.1x12,143 (parf) + 11,000 (body) = $32,287 Questions: 1.The dealer above mark up so much ah? 2.Is there any specific trend on which model/make usually fetch the highest body value?
  23. Hi Brothers, Have a friend whose 74 toyota celica is in need of bodywork due to big rust spots. He is willing to spend a bit more to get a good job done that will last the test of time. Can anyone recommend a good bodywork shop for his precious? Thanks in advance Lamy
  24. Hi, I'm scouting for a Sonata, the 2004 model. I just hapen to like that Korean jag , especially at those prices. But... how to determin what is the right price? So far I have seen them with body prices from 6250 (Gold color, no leather ) to 12194 (white with cream leather). The high one has of course a low COE, while the low one has a 30k COE. For the expensive one asking is 42.8K with COE 21.3K and 16K OMV. That one is from Nov 2004. Another one (black, leather ) asking 41.8K, 28K COE and 16.2K OMV (body 7K). Alamak, too much figures. Anyway, what is a reasonable price for the body? BTW, just for curiosity, anyone know body value Tucson and Trajet? Thanks!
  25. Any one can recommend a place? and advise on estimated price?
