  1. hi, My Jazz's skyroof got hit by a stone @ the expressway (catapult from another car to mine) - luckily, Insurance covers it as windscreen, hence, NCD will not be affected; however, my plan only allows authorized workshops. My approach is to claim Insurance for the windscreen and pay out from my pocket for the dented bonnet. While doing the bonnet at the same authorized workshop is not necessary, it is preferred as I can get everything settled at one place but that said, any recommendation will be welcomed. Could some kind soul provide inputs on which of the following authorized workshops - preferably one that you have tried - would be great to do my skyroof and bonnet? Also, what are the things I should look out for and questions should I ask to check on the workshop? Some of my concerns are 1) Workmanship - for the skyroof, if it will leak and for the bonnet, after knocking back and spray, will the paint color be the same. 2) Quality of the skyroof - if it is original and if not, the UV and sunscreen, would it be as good as the original? Thanks in advance. ----------------List of Workshops----------------------- Ah Lim Motor Company Address : BLk 10, Ang Mo Kio Autopoint,Industrial Park 2A, #01-09 ,Singapore(568047) Car City Auto Centre Pte Ltd Address : BLk 9006, Tampines Street 93, #01-198 ,Singapore(528840) Cheng Hoe Motor Service Address : BLk 1019, Yishun Industrial Park A, #01-374 ,Singapore(768761) Cheng Hoe Motor Service Address : BLk 10, Ang Mo Kio Autopoint,Industrial Park 2A, #01-04 ,Singapore(568047) Ever Sen Auto Service Address : BLk 3022A, Ubi Road 1, #01-49 ,Singapore(408716) Falcon-Air Auto Service Address : BLk 176, Sin Ming drive,Sin Ming Autocare, #01-06 ,Singapore(575721) Falcon-Air Auto Service Address : BLk 9006, Tampines Street 93, #01-200 ,Singapore(528840) Falcon-Air Auto Service Address : BLk 1, Pandan Loop, #01-08 ,Singapore(128119) K. 11. copy from subaru and legacy forum .. time are bad .... Dear Bros, Not as bad as one brother who had just lost his Brembos...but this happened to me on the 9th December in my own MSCP: Blk 462 MSCP Choa Chu Kang Ave. 4 Was alerted by a neighbour in the morning at 8am, whom mentioned that my bonnet was missing already missing that morning at 130am; I was just at the carpark 15 mins ago doing my usual stake out before i left my ride...haiz Arrived in despair, shocked all the whatever shitty feelings, there goes my bonnet leaving my exposed engine bay naturally cooled through the night! The Son of the Biatch cut my rex grill, used a tool to pull the cable to pop the bonnet before unlatching my bonnet and started the project. Alarm was disconnected, bonnet and all the auxiliaries wiped out... Called the police for investigation and statement was taken..In desperation I drove my car to sing ming bonnetless to get a replacement..and make another trip the next day due to insufficient parts.. Its like nightmares everyday and really fingers crossed every morning hoping no more surprises.. If i manage to catch this Son,...........I guess u bros know how the story goes.....Jet Li's, Bruce Lee's stunts and all combos happy hour http://www.subaruclubsg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29160 warcraft168 wrote: This morning went to my MSCP to my shock my 4 advan rim with tires were all lying beside my car, when i went nearer to have a look, wtf my brembo capiler with roto 2 infront all gone, called the police and was told by the IO my MSCP is a HOT spot for thief for Brembo items regardless of motorcycle or car.Lastly my rims are lock with special lock nut but they still manage to unscrew them.???? 14. Not sure if anyone has experienced this before, but I've been thinking it for 2 days and still can't figure out what happened: On Fri morning, 9.30 am, I parallel parked my car behind Toa Payoh Library to attend a full-day course there. I activated my alarm when I left the car. During lunch time, I went back to get an umbrella as it looked like it was going to rain soon. I didn't notice or sense anything amiss - but must admit I was in a hurry. I locked the car again after taking the umbrella. At about 6.10 pm, after the course, when I went back to my car, I noticed my bonnet was slightly ajar, and I initially thought the lorry in front - which was very close to my car - had reversed onto me. As there was another lorry behind me too, I then went to back to check whether the back lorry had 'kissed' me too, plus whether there is enough space for me to get out of the parking lot. I deactivated my alarm as I approached (from the front). Then to my shock, when I reached the rear of my car, I saw that my boot was not closed tightly. I then went to the font of the car, and on closer scrutiny, saw that the bonnet was not locked in place tightly. It's the same as when you pulled the catch/lock inside the driver's compartment, and then you just go to the bonnet and unlatch it - that position. My thought then was that someone had managed to break into my car without the alarm being triggered. On checking my car, I was surprised to find that the most valuable things in my car - new parking coupons and a cash card - were not taken inside an envelope in my drawer. A pity I deactivated my alarm so I could not ascertain whether it was still 'activated' when I went back to my car. Anyone has any clues or ideas what could have happened? tks...
  15. A few months ago my father stopped his car at a slope... Left it in Neutral gear and it went down the slope and rammed into the @ss of his company lorry a few meters away.. So now bonnet got one big dent and he intending to get a new one and fix it himself. The front bumper also a bit dented and scratched... Just asking, do any bros here know the best place to get Wish's bonnet and miscellaneous accessories? TIA
  16. Bros, need some advice here. While washing the car on Sunday, noticed that there are fine droplets of clear transparent glue-like things stuck mostly to my windscreen and parts of my bonnet. Suspect someone was spraying that liquid and it landed on my car. Now these droplets are stuck fast to the car. Tried to remove by scraping them off with fingernails but not much success. My wipers cannot wipe off the rain clearly as there are holes made by these droplets when I activate the wipers. Do you know what I can do to remove these irritants? Some solvent perhaps? Or just brute force to get rid of them? TIA.
  17. My car got quite a number of stone chips at the front even though never go in JB. Can see the "white" already inside.Tried touch up paint but result not ideal.Dun want go to extent of respray. Anyone can advise if there is a remedy for the problem???

  19. As per coffee on 05/01/08, i went sourcing around today and got a quote: I need 15 confirmed to get the item produced, and hence there's OEM and GT bonnets that most of us have, they can only make 1 type from 15 orders(means 15 orders to get a EP82 GT bonnet made, another 15 to get an EP80 OEM bonnet made). Price range: About $700 SGD (inclusive of installation) Lead time: 2-3 Weeks. So i need to make a count now to see who's really interested and what bonnet do u have, once we hit 15 I'll get u guys out again to confirm everything. 20. http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,...,150906,00.html? SHE flashed a finger, he claimed, and then gave him a ride on her car bonnet. Her alleged rude gesture after a near accident, and what followed, has now become a police case. Businessman Guo Tian Fu, 36, claimed that he was driving along Cluny Road opposite the Botanic Gardens at 1.40pm last Wednesday. Behind his vehicle was a blue BMW 3-series. According to him, as both cars were driving past Lermit Lodge, off Cluny Road, the BMW stopped suddenly at the T-junction to turn right into Lermit Road. Mr Guo said he was about one-and-a-half car lengths behind the BMW driver when she made the abrupt turn. 'It was so sudden for me, I sounded my horn at her,' he recalled. RUDE GESTURE 'She showed me her middle finger on her left hand when she held it up at her rear-view mirror.' Furious, he followed her car into Lermit Road and overtook her on the two-way single-lane road. He wanted to get her particulars, he claimed, because of the near-miss. Click to see larger image He stopped his year-old Mercedes Benz in front of her car. He added that he overtook her only when there was no oncoming traffic. Mr Guo, who is married with a 6-year-old son, said: 'I wanted to make a report because it's so dangerous to stop your car suddenly. 'What if she had caused an accident?' He was also angry because of the rude gesture. 'You don't expect that from a woman,' he said, adding that he had intended to go to the police station after taking down her particulars. He said the woman was in her late 30s and was alone in her vehicle when he approached her. He claimed he asked her to exchange particulars and asked why she had shown him her middle finger. But, he said, she raised her right hand and showed him her middle finger again. She allegedly told him: 'Prove it then.' Mr Guo then returned to his car to take his handphone, which is equipped with a camera, to take a photo of the woman and her car. She could not be traced to give her side of the encounter. Mr Guo claimed that as he was getting his phone, the woman reversed her car and tried to get back on the road. He said he was standing in front of her car and tried taking pictures of her licence plate, but she kept inching forward so he had to take a few steps back several times. Then, he claimed, things took a turn for the worse. He said he felt her licence plate touching his leg. 'Everything happened very quickly, in less than a minute,' he said. 'When I tried to take a photo of her, she accelerated towards me. 'I had no choice but to jump onto her car and I ended up sitting on it.' He said he used his hands to support himself as the car moved with his back facing the driver. He reckoned she was driving between 10kmh and 20kmh. Mr Guo said: 'She was speeding off and I panicked. It was quite scary.' He said she drove for about 5m to 10m before he jumped off, hurting his right ankle in the process. CALLED POLICE He said he did not see a doctor as it was 'not serious'. But Mr Guo did call the police, who arrived in a patrol car. A witness, who was at a nearby private apartment, also gave his statement to the two police officers. The painter, who wanted to be identified only as Desmond, 25, said he was on the third storey of the scaffolding at the private apartment when he heard the sound of a car horn. He turned to look and was surprised to see a man on the bonnet of a BMW. He said: 'I was not sure what was happening. The car was moving quite slowly. He just jumped off and the driver drove off. 'I did not see the driver of the car.' A police spokesman confirmed a report had been lodged by Mr Guo. They are looking into the matter. Mr Guo's account is similar to a fatal confrontation near Wheelock Place in April when financial adviser Alex Lim, 30, tried to block a taxi driver from driving off after an accident. Mr Guo said he did think about that incident after his brush with the woman, but felt he had to do what he did. He said: 'I don't regret what I did. 'But I feel if drivers have a dispute they cannot resolve, they should call the police.'
