  1. Like to know which is best source to get brakes pads and rotors online? Like Brembos and Hawk. Thx in adv
  2. Yes, all 3 of them not working. what will you do? I happened to be behind one dark coloured lancer earlier along CTE to town on the rightmost lane, after a while realised that the situation. Feel damned pissed off at the inconsiderate driver and as the traffic was quite heavy for a typical late Sat morning, I quickly filter to the left lane and I am almost reaching my exit. I have encountered cars with one or two faulty brakelights, and even one with brakelights permanently on (don't know what's the deal with that) but really is the first time to meet one with all not working. Guess some owners are getting more bo chap as their cars are getting older. Be careful out there.
  3. Need to change brake pads for my Altis soon. Normally go to Riverview in AMK for servicing, but am staying in Bt Batok. Don't feel like travelling all the way to AMK to change brake pads. Any workshop in the West area to recommend ? Am looking for original Toyota brake pads. Thanks in advanced.
  4. Just replaced my rear brake pad and noticed that it "bite" more and car is more reluctant to move . E.g have to step on accelerator before the car will move while previously it will slowly move ... Likewise it will slow down faster than previous. Also the brake disc , rim and tyre are now much hotter compare to the front . I know that it will take a while before the brake pad is "seasoned" but should I be concerned as the high temperature may affect the brake hose etc.... Is this normal or I should go back to see if something can be done.
  5. Anyone knows which workshop does this service and how much does it cost? The screeching is damn irritating.
  6. Hi guys, my car has a keyless start that requires me to step on the brake pedal before the engine starts. Recently, I noticed that when my car is cold, eg in the morning, the brake pedal is very hard to step. I can barely compress it. Many a times, I need to stomp the brakes a 2nd time to start my car as my 1st attempt is too weak. Anything wrong? Or its something I can just ignore?
  7. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152349091553898&set=vb.531238897&type=2&theater "Hi guys, This video show a Singapore traffic police camping on a overhead bridge catching speeding like a peeping tom. The driver in the video jammed brake due to the front vehicle jammed brake suddenly. A motorcyclist was thrown over the car together with his bike n had a hard land on the ground becos the car behind the motorcyclist crushed on the motorcyclist n threw him n his bike over the car in front of him. Can imagine how harsh is the collision. The poor motorcyclist was seriously injured. Can Singapore traffic police stop doing all the surprise speed trap to prevent such accident to happen again. This is not the first time such incident happened. At least put a speed trap warning sign to warn all motorist to prevent all these deadly stupid mistake. Please share this video to all your friends with your comment. I really feel sorry for the innocent motorcyclist. Thank you." 1. Sudden jam brake by the car with the video recorder 2. Someone might be following a little too closely And this is why it's actually safer to lanesplit than to follow behind a car.
  8. What brake pad can I change to on a 05 or 06 Vios. Left two yeas left but need to change coz I tried the car recently and the stopping is terrible. Will not vbe doing braided hose as that would be too much effort. Fluid have been changed a few times. I am suspecting brake pads, I have sprayed brake cleaner with no improvement. What pads can I buy? I hope to get some better pads and brake dust or rotor wear is fine.
  9. Yesterday, was behind this Hyundai Santa Fe along CTE (North) around 3:30pm. Traffic a bit jam as people are leaving work and some more no ERP. After a while, noticed that the car's brake lights are ALL TOTALLY NOT WORKING. I was quite annoyed, I mean, one or even 2 brake lights not working still ok but all three. Really feel that the fella is an inconsiderate driver. THANKFULLY, after a while, the fella changed lane and went on his "jolly" way. Must say he is also an excellent lane changer. Sorry, no pics or vids, a bit chui gong lan pa song, I know, but there is how I can see it. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
  10. When pressing brake at higher speed ( about 60 km/hr and above), can hear "ge ge ge" sound and steering wheel vibrating. some time can also feel brake pedal push my foot intermittedly. would you suggest what is the problem? I am driving honda stream thanks.

  12. went to servo for my 22.5k oil change this morning. Brought my own c*rlube and paid for the filter + labour $42. The mech also top-up radiator coolant (with water, of course) and power-steering fluid ..... foc ...... Actually I was looking for Dennis also but he went out. So ended up speaking to Philip. Told him about my brake squealing @ low speed ~ 15kmh. Anyone encountered this b4 ? He told me that it would cost $60 labour charge for that service which include removing all 4 wheels. That's fine with me but what he said next ...... he'll sand-paper the brake pads ..... Thought sand-paper of brake pads and disc is a no-no .... ? any comments anyone ?

  23. Rain has finally came back after the long dry spell.. Giving us nice cool weathers and flowery sceneries.. But with the rain, I noticed one side of my tail light gets to trap water inside it.. not sure how it got in there in the first place.. Don't have time to actually investigate too.. So I was thinking if any bros here have a good workaround for this problem other than changing the entire assembly? I was thinking of probably drilling a small hole at the tail light so that the water will drain itself.. but doing so, I'm afraid that water may also seep into it and make matter worse.. any good suggestions??
