  1. Keep seeing this brand and others like Autobahn being advertised in HotStuff...seems more like budget brands... Any one who has used these brands and would like to comment on how good they are for setting up a budget sound system? I'm not into SPL or sound quality that sort of thing...just like to have some bass that's all. Cheers
  2. Hi all wat brand of ATF is good for gear box? Mobil? elf? anything else???
  3. Hey all, cld you all pls recommend a few brands of voltage stabilizers i cld consider to install??
  4. So now I got your attention That's the price of a brand new Camry in Arizona where I'm in now. Something cheaper? How about Nissan Sunny 1.8 auto for S$16,800. Or a brand new Hyundai Accent 1.5 manual for S$11,000. No COE required. No 10 year crap! The cars is yours for good... and this is making me feel like a damn fool to pay S$80K for my G9 Corolla. This money could have bought me a Dodge Viper for those lazy Sundays, a Jeep Wrangler for that off road ride, and a Pontiac Grand Prix saloon for work on weekdays, with change to spare. And dollar for dollar, it's actually cheaper to live in the States! Time to give up that S'pore citizenship. There's more to life than working like sxxt to service that 10 yr car loan & 30 yr HDB public housing loan. Feels shitty, doesn't it?
  5. Which one of these 5 brands would you love to get yourself associated with???...I want to know which brand name attracts the most prestige and pride. Thanks fellows.
  6. MERCEDES-BENZ remained the top luxury brand in 2003, thanks to the sterling performance of its mid-sized executive sedan, the E-Class. From strength to strength: Authorised distributor C&C sold a total of 3,254 Mercs in 2003, of which 54% were the E-Class Authorised distributor Cycle and Carriage sold a total of 3,254 Mercs, of which 1,773 units, or 54 per cent, were the E-Class. This compares with a total of 2,547 Mercedes-Benz cars sold in 2002, with 1,265 E-Class or 50 per cent. This means C&C managed a 28 per cent increase in Mercedes-Benz sales last year. Not bad for a turbulent 12-month period which saw record unemployment and a Sars outbreak. Overall, Mercedes-Benz is in seventh place on the Motor Traders Association's 2003 sales performance list - ahead of traditional German rival BMW, which is in eighth position with an estimated 2,120 units sold. Both marques had identical rankings in 2002. 'The E-Class has grown from strength to strength,' said managing director Cheah Kim Teck. The current model, the W211, was launched in August 2002, and Mr Cheah called its sales 'outstanding'. 'Credit must be given to the designers and the people who made it. It's very difficult to have a stylish-looking car which is functional. Some cars are stylish but too low and uncomfortable, making it awkward to get in and out. But the E-Class is a wonderful combination of design and engineering,' he said. 'If you look at the E-Class dashboard, you could almost say it hasn't changed in the last 15 years. There's been no attempt to introduce fanciful buttons, those nice to look at but confusing gadgets. It's got functionality combined with beauty, so it's functionally beautiful.' Mr Cheah thinks the E-Class is often taken for granted because of its subtle marketing. 'Everybody else is shouting and trying to blow their own trumpets in terms of innovations in their cars. But a lot of these are already in the E-Class, for example, the SBC Hold.' Sensotronic Brake Control Hold is a feature which allows the car to remain stationary on a slope by depressing the brake pedal. Also, previous criticisms of the E-Class's lack of power have been addressed with new engines. Mr Cheah offered another reason for Mercedes' continued popularity - C&C's good after-sales service and large workshop facilities. 'We will continue to improve on it, even for Mitsubishi and Kia,' he said. C&C also distributes Mitsubishi and Kia cars. 'It's costing us a lot of money, but it's an investment that's well worth spending. It's given us that competitive edge.' But extensive after-sales service comes at a price. 'It does not allow us to grow our profit and our return on equity at the pace that we think we could,' explained Mr Cheah. 'We want to find a way to not continuously increase our workshop charges, but costs are going up. So we have to accept a more modest pace of profit growth.' Article is adapted from BT.
  7. Hi gurus, Need your advice. I know nuts when it comes to car audio. My current car comes with stock JVC HU and changer unit. I am thinking of getting a pioneer HU with MP3 playback...was wondering if it can work with my jvc changer unit? Trying not to spend too much here... thanks.
  8. Is the price SGD 1K for brand new 17" Taiwan Rim with Falcon 326 215/45 reasonable?
  9. I just heard the wierdest stupidest thing. My friend has told me that the brand of engine oil and the brand of petrol must be the same or the car will run poorly. Then I ask him, what about other engine oils? Not petrol brand ones? His answer: Cannot trust those brands lah! How to explain to him? I give up! I tried to talk about ELF brand, Amsoil etc... He said those brands are not "A" class brands so cannot use! Aiyah! How to explain?
  10. Planning to buy a brand New VTI (A) from KM. Heard about the CVT problem! Need some advise whether the car is still a good buy at $80988? Or the Corolla 1.6A at $81988 What do people mean by floor the car?
  11. I don't know so asking. I seen so many damn ads that it is hard to tell good from bad. Plus it is hard to tell if something is good when you haven't really heard it while driving yet.
