  1. Anyone notice the strange reflector light things on the middle barrier on the Benjamin Sheares bridge? If they are reflectors, why do they spin? If they are speed / wind sensors, why some do not spin?
  2. Anyone knows whether the bridge is opened or when it will be opened? Checked URA website and told was end Mar08. Passed by below a couple times n saw some people walking on it.
  3. I pity you guys who have to take this tonight, as I type, there are two TPs and two fire engines closing down the left lane heading away from the city. And the traffic is slowing to a crawl!

  5. Was sitting in window seat on flight back to Singapore recently. The plane was looping round the east coast of Malaysia, I think. Then while peering out the window, I noticed that there's a bridge construction in progress, and what's amazing is that this bridge goes out to sea. A few platforms on the sea is already up, and the portion of bridge on mainland too. From my position, I could not see where this bridge is leading to. Its definitely Malaysia but I don't know about any major bridge project. Anyone got clues?

Open clarification to Black/Dark Blue Saab93 Driver along North Bridge Road towards Chinatown just outside High Street Centre turning into North Boat Quay which you finally turned into MOS carpark at Clark Quay. I was the driver of the car ahead of you that you blasted and long honked. I have absolutely no idea what you were honking at me for when 1. You failed to notice the obstacle ahead of you before hand 2. Forcing your way into my lane; 3. Failing to cut into my lane as I was ahead of you A) Where you expecting me to jam brake just so you can avoid the digging machine parked ahead of you? B) The left corner of your car was right beside me at the driver's door and you were still aggressively trying to drive me out of my lane while sounding your horn at me. Where you really trying to drive me out to the next lane? Or was it all my imagination? I stopped my car and thought about getting off and clarifying with you, but had second thoughts and drove ahead (too many cases of man on bonnet these days) I drove slowly so that you could drive up beside me and tell me what your intentions were. Instead, you chose to go behind me slowly. I really have no idea what you were up to. I would like to hear your side of the story if you're reading this. Thank you for your time.
  8. I saw a pretty bad accident early this morning just past midnight. A white Merc taxi & a black Vios. The taxi was driven by a short/plump chinese woman & the Vios had 2 men & 2 women inside. Looks like the Vios women were slightly injured & at least 1 was taken to hospital on a stretcher. I saw 1 of the men being given oxygen by the ambulance pple. Heard from an eye witness that he saw the taxi run the red light which cause the accident. Any news in the papers or TV yet?
  9. Am thinking of changing my 13" Rim/Tyre of my liteace to 14" Rim/tyre.... I am looking for either Yokohama or Bridgestone tyre profile around 185/75R14 or 185/70R14??... which brand and profile is a better bet??? TIA
  10. was speeding 110kmh at 80 or 90 kmh stretch at AYE .. wah just got licence 2 months ago so suay already. what will happen to me ? i dun wan my licence to get revoke ..... possible to get just a warning ?
  11. It took be between 5:00pm and 6:00pm to drive between Keppel Road and Fort Road on ECP (Changi) today due to a massive slow jam. There was a bad accident involving a Wish and another MPV (either an Alphard or Elysion - one of those big square PI ones) and I think a couple of other cars which had been towed away when I got to the scene. The Wish looked like it had smashed into the new concrete wall and got smashed in by other cars. Lanes 1 2 and 3 were blocked hence the very slow traffic. Anybody got there earlier and saw more of the carnage?
  12. I was travelling on SLE, exit Lentor Ave towards AMK and from far I could see a white figure sticking out on the bridge and I suspect that it must be TP. I slowed down and at the same time try to warn the cars behind me by tapping my brakes a few times, but this bloody Indian guy driving a Blue Mazda 3 behind me, started flashing his lights and horn me, filter to the centre lane, then cut into my lane at close range w/o signalling. I cursed and swear and tot that I shd juz filter out and let him get caught for speeding. After all, I was already doin abt 70km/h on a 60km/h speed limit. I take it he did not see the TP and do not know what I was doing. How will you guys read it when you see tapping of brakes?   13. hey guys i am thinking of Bridge my 4 channel amp into 2 Channel amp but the mannual say this... from the diagram it shows that the front channel toward the right speaker Rear channel towards the left speakers.... is it right??? my setup is only speakers in front. thanks a lot...   14. this is a follow-up on a discussion we were having about "bridging 2 channels into 1 increases the power, but increases distortion too". using the example: 75W x 2 RMS [4Ω @12V (0.08%THD)] 120W x 2 RMS [2Ω@12V (0.3%THD)] 240W x 1 RMS [4Ω - Bridged @12V (0.3%THD)] keeping the volume constant, and hence the power constant, assuming that: you play at a volume of 75W output. u get 0.08% with 4 ohm. if u want to achieve the same 75W but you bridge the 2 channels together into 1, sure, u get 240W x 1 but noting that we're still playing at same volume of output 75W, what i'm trying to speculate on is this: will a --bridged-- setup produce, for example, a) 0.08% THD at 75W 1 channel bridged, or b) better (lower) than 0.08% THD at 75W 1 channel bridged, or c) worse (higher) than 0.08% THD at 75W 1 channel bridged. i suppose unless we have access to some test specifications of an amp, we have to just speculate on how bridging circuitry works. and while we're speculating, we can imagine that comparing 75W x 2 @ 4 ohms 0.08% THD with a bridged setup, each channel of a bridge setup would be pumping out something like only 35W in order to produce a combined 75W bridged. therefore, we can imagine that it's running say 35W @ 0.04% THD. and after bridging, assuming bridging involves introducing noise to the system, the final output is 75W @ 0.08% THD. if this is the case, we break even - the bridged and unbridged setup both produces 0.08% THD. but if somehow bridging circuitry doesn't introduce much noise, we MIGHT get 2 x 35W @ 0.04% THD bridged -->> 1 x 75W @ 0.04% THD, which is better than running the channels individually. that's what i'm trying to find out: lowering the output per channel, but bridging it to give the same final output, would that produce lower noise i.e. better output? gurus who know, please teach! :)
  15. i recently installed EZ-stab in my ES 1.6 civic...not miracle box, but can feel my car more responsive...especially when picking up...all's fine until i install a spark bridge (4 wires connecting spark plugs to my batt), my car cannot go above 110km/h...when i remove the spark bridge, car go back to normal...can anyone explain why?
