  1. Good afternoon, everyone My 20-month Honda Edix, currently clocking 36000 km, has default Dunlop 195/65/15 tyres which are wearing out soon (thread marks ~ 16 mm front, 18 mm rear even with tyre rotation every 10000 km). Personally, am a 'play-safe', family sort of person who never opts for swift cornering and rarely attempts more than 3k rpm, especially with my 4-month old baby girl onboard. Questions to ask: 1. Are default tyres often of second/third grade so as to render the price tag more appealing? 2. Is it true that GIII fares better than GR80 in terms of its road handling properties but emits more noise in turn? Is GIII of a higher calibre than GR80? Many thanks for your valuable comments
  2. Anyone know where to get the above tyre. Thanks.
  3. 2 years ago, I went to my regular tire shop to change tire and choose the GR80 as they do not have the G3. Now, the set of tires is beginning to wear off, thinking of getting the G3 this time round. But seems that the G3 is no longer sold. Went to Autobacs but they don't have the G3 too. And there isn't much mentioned about the G3 here also. Is it that the G3 had been discontinued already?
  4. Those who thought only the Yokohama Aspec has poor grip in the wet will be surprised that the Bridgestone Potenza is no better, esp in those multistorey carpark wet cement slopes when it rains. Drove a friend's car today and experienced it first hand for myself. The front wheels practically spun when going up a multistorey car park! This Potenza is noisier than the Aspec DB but grip is excellent for dry runs at high speed.
  5. Hi can anyone let me know tyre shop selling these 2 tyres? Bridgestone RE050 Pole Postion and Michelin PS2 currently only know Southeast Tyre got Bridgestone as I got my S03 there. Thanks yup one more can anyone share their review on these 2 tyres? Thanks
  6. Saw a tyre ad on Bridgestone MY-01 from Thailand. Is this BS MY-01 tyre available in S'pore and any members here ever used this kind of tyre ? Don't mind to share your information on its performance. Thanks & Best Regards.
  7. Hi, Will be getting my ride next jan/feb. Checked with my SE said that the CIVIC come with Bridgestone Potenza. Am wondering does Potenza come with many category? How's the performance and sound? Any bros or sis got their CIVIC ride recently that come with this got to comment? Thanks.
  8. Tyre suffered a puncture by a big nail and the pressure is leaking, dropping about 10Kpa per day. Is there a Bridgestone stockist whom I can get a tyre replacement? My current tyre is Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II 225/55R18. The tyre size is out-of-the-norm if you do notice.
  9. Would you trust a shop if they quote $50 for a new 185/60/14? Then again, this shop is well known for quoting *ahem* insane prices.
  10. Hi, any comments on the above tires ? Thanks.
  11. Bro can i check with you all which one is a better choice in term of 1)Comfort 2)noise 3)Wet Grip 4)Dry Grip 5) Price
  12. Hi, I want to trade in my set of ER30 for a set of GR80 when I got my car. Size is 205/55 R16. Any good shops to recommend (esp in the East) ? If possible, pls give me a rough guide on the price after trade-in. Thanks.
  13. is this tyre good for comfort and road noise?cant find any info on this tyre!
  14. Just wondering if anyone heard of this? Was doing a search on the web and ain't getting anywhere. Does it fall under Turanza or Pontenza?
  15. How is this tyre in general? Has anyone used it before? Heard the wet grip is ??? http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/goodyeartest
  16. Not exactly a new tire but I heard it is selling in Malaysia up north. It is Bridgestone's answer to the cheapo tires from Nankang, Federal, Sime or whatever cheapo tire you know lah! Pics from a HK poster in a HK forum. So this is where it stands in the Bridgestone family: S03 ---- Performance RE-01R GIII MY-01 GR80 ----Comfort According to users at Autoworld, gets noisier from 25k onwards. The MY01 is based on RE01 thread design with modified GIII compounds which also means grip might not be that great because GIII grip is not that great. Bottom line is that MY01 is much more quiet than GIII. Bridgestone calls it Sports Tourer. It does not bear the Potenza name/mark. OK some links to the official HK Bridgestone dealer: http://www.tongseng.com.hk/Page/News/N24.html http://www.tongseng.com.hk/Page/Product/MY01.html
  17. Any place to get the above-mentioned tyres cheaper? mine is 195/60/R15
  18. Hi guys, Can anyone enlighten on the above comparison? Was quoted $110 for the GR80 (195/65/15"). CDrive is slightly less. Is this a good price? My criteria in the following priority; - Noise - Grip - Comfort Thanks !
  19. Today I went around some tyres shop to check out the prcing for 16" Bridgestone Potenza G3 tyres. I was quite amazed to find that there are 2 different type of Bridgestone Potenza G3. One made in Japan and another made in Thailand!? The one made in Thailand is alot cheaper than the one made in Japan. Anyone know what is the different between the 2?
  20. i've checked the price at Autobacs: $352 for 4, includes free tyre rotation every 10k, unlimitted nitrogen gas, etc.. wheel alignment for additional $60. anyone can find a cheaper price elsewhere??
  21. I had 2 friends in the Aust Prof Drift League and 1 in the Amat League take my car out for a bit of a drift session earlier today, and although the car setup was perfect for drift, we only managed to get the car to slide for 2 seconds max. When trying it with the handbrake, we lasted about 3 seconds before the car regained traction... at the end, my rear rotors were glowing red and my rear pads were smoking!!! I guess if the tyres can pass that kind of test, it should be more than capable for daily driving!!! Btw, my car makes 148.59hp at the rear wheels. Front tyres are 195/60R15 (on 15x7 wheels) at 32psi and the rears are 195/60R15 (stretched on 15x8 wheels) at 30psi.
  22. guys may i noe the price for a 195/60/15 bridgestone GIII tyre? CHEERS
  23. Anyone cares to comment? Which is a better choice in terms of perfomance, silent, comfort and durability?
  24. Where to buy Bridgestone Potenza G3? How much for a 195/55/15? Dun want to kena
