  1. Anyone knows when the WISH will be brought in by BM?
  2. July 7, 2008 BMW unveils new 7-series limo way ahead of S'pore launch By Christopher Tan A BMW spokesman told The Straits Times the new BMW 7-series (above) would arrive in Singapore as early as first-quarter of next year. -- PHOTO: BMW GERMAN car-maker BMW Ag has released details of its latest 7-series limo, four months before its launch in Europe and at least six months before it is due in Singapore. The new car, a direct competitor to Mercedes' S-class and Jaguar's XJ, looks little changed from the current generation 7-series except for being slightly larger and for its less fanciful headlamps and more elegant tail-lights. It is packed with new features, including those designed for fuel efficiency. The car can, for instance, charge its battery while braking. Unlike existing cars, it will stop charging the battery or turn off the aircon compressor when extra power is needed for acceleration. Lightweight aluminium is used for its roof, doors, bonnet and side panels. Other new features, which may be standard or optional for Singapore-bound cars, include a night vision system that can identify pedestrians; and a front side-view camera to help driver merge with traffic on a main road from partially blocked driveways or side lanes - a first for BMW. A BMW spokesman told The Straits Times the car would arrive in Singapore as early as first-quarter of next year. He said a range of new diesel variants will also be made available for the first time here, including a new all-aluminium 3.0-litre version that produces 245hp at 4,000rpm and 540Nm of torque from merely 1,750rpm. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...75.html?vgnmr=1 There has been a discussion on the new 7-er in the conti folder but this one highlights the last para. [/color] It couldn't be more timely. Diesel engines are now more efficient and greener than their petrol counterparts. Nonetheless, with diesel price heading north like there is no tomorrow, buyers need a buy-in before parting with their moolah. Apart from cheaper maintenance and durability factors, it makes almost no sense to purchase diesel cars. Will we now witness government relaxing tax structure on diesel-powered powerplants? (this means a cut in their revenue)...
  3. Just witnessed an auntie's bag got snatched away while she was pumping at a petrol kiosk in jb At first I thought the biker accident hit the auntie's shoulder or something until she started to shout then only i realised he's a robber. a guy gave chase and i tried to block the biker with my car but it was too late then the auntie was in shock and kept crying so i brought her to the nearby petrol station and assisted her to make a police report because she couldn't speak malay very well and could not speak english either. have to help her to cancel all her credit cards and ATM cards also because all lines that i called to cancel whatever card it is didn't have mandarin operators so i ended up have to act as a translator between the phone operators and the auntie so my advise to all females, Please DO NOT use handbags in malaysia, it's really risky
  4. Dear all, With the new changing hairstyle ... I find that it is not really necessary to bring comb out anymore. So do you guys still bring comb? Just curious.
  5. SINGAPORE - Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) and its mobile associates will bring Apple's popular iPhone to Singapore, India, Australia and the Philippines later this year, Southeast Asia's largest phone company said on Monday. Just wanted to find out how many of you would be getting one when SingTel sells it? For me, it's like the 'shiok' factor a little bit diminished as it has already been launched for so long, now then come to s'pore. Somemore no 3G (but got EDGE). Still undecided.

  12. Did anyone else notice that Monza was the only time during the 2005 season that the McLarens have run without their characteristic bullhorns on the engine cover? Have a look here: [inline maccanohorns1.JPG] Must have affected their outright speed, seeing how little downforce is required on that circuit. Also check out how little rear wing they're carrying. Contrast this now with Spa, a traditional 'aero' circuit: [inline maccahorns.JPG] Note the following: - The horns are back! - The rear wing has a much greater angle for downforce - The front wing is back to using triple elements (count them), instead of the two at Monza
