  1. As per title, I can't shift my car out of park position and so I've been using the shift lock override to shift it out of park for the past one week. Googled around and found a few possibilities for this. Wondering if this is a common problem. Car is currently at my workshop getting diagnosed. 1. Incline Induced Pawl Pressure - happens when your car is parked on an incline, not for my case 2. Brake switch failure - I checked and my brake lights are working as they should 3. Faulty Shift Interlock Solenoid 4. Malfunctioning Ignition Switch 5. Open circuit in the shift interlock electrical system
  2. Well.... I drove my Mazda 3 SP for a good 10 years. Scrapped it and finally got a new car. Stay in HDB with an open space car park Based on experience, new cars always end up getting scratched. I knew it will happen soon. Just didn't expect it to be so soon..... Though I'm annoyed, I'm at the age where I feel for the culprit. He must have felt so sick in the mind to do something like that and to do it so quickly within a few hours of me getting the car. Just for the record. The car was perfectly mint when I collected it. So don't point finger at AD. God have mercy on him/her.
  3. hi just checking if you know does second hand car dealers accept credit card for payments ?

  5. A simple question that I am wondering if it will cause trouble with the law. 3 Scenario. Assuming it is before 2230 and drinking in public area is legal 1) A person drunk person drinking alcoholic drinks in his vehicle while listening music. Engine is off but ignition is on to power up electrical items in the car. 2) A drunk person decides to sleep in his vehicle because drink driving is dangerous. Something engine is off 3) After having some drinks. Hands start to get itchy want to do some modification to the vehicle In all scenario, the vehicle is not in motion and parked at a legal parking space/road Last time heard some stories from my friends that a non license holder, even sitting on the driver seat with engine off is illegal
  6. Gotcha!! I know MCF is full of TKRs. It has been quite quiet here recently, so thought of having something out of the norm to spice things up a little. Let have some fun with creating short sentences using car name...
  7. You are in the right section, since it is about auto manufacturer... It is not uncommon for large corporation to venture into businesses that is not directly related to what they are best known for, such as Fujitsu and Hitachi have gone into agriculture business (high tech farming), or for that matter, Nokia started off as a manufacturer of toilet paper, Geely with fridge, etc. For a start, let make a guess what is this item number for, under VW's official part list? 199 398 500 A (siting right between the wiper blades and lug nuts)? Nope, it is not bumper, headlight, engine oil, key chain or stuffed toy, but something edible. And nope, not the coffee or biscuit you had while waiting for your car to be service, but something that is very much popular in western... ... ... ... First created in 1973, Volkswagen has made its own currywurst sausage ever since, and in the process turned it into a symbol of the company throughout Europe. While it’s a staple of the factory cafeterias in Wolfsburg and other European Volkswagen plants for breakfast or lunch, it’s also sold in grocery stores under the “Volkswagen Originalteil” (German for “original parts”) brand. Dealers in Germany often give five-packs of them to customers as gifts. And it’s a huge hit: last year, Volkswagen made 6.8 million currywursts – more than the number of vehicles the VW brand sold worldwide in 2017. What does the VW currywurst taste like? To an American palate accustomed to bratwursts and other sausages typically labeled “sweet” or “hot,” the currywurst walks the broad space in between. There’s a strong yellow curry flavor, but with a kick from the pepper and ginger in the spices. The actual recipe, as devised by the original Volkswagen butchers in 1973, is an official company secret known only to a few people. It’s typically served either intact or chopped into bite-size slices on a paper bowl and drenched in ketchup – preferably the curry-flavored variety also made to Volkswagen’s recipe. Since its inception, the currywurst has been made in-house by Volkswagen employees. Today, about 30 workers, most of them trained butchers, oversee the process at VW’s flagship plant in Wolfsburg. Three times a week, the plant takes in fresh pork from nearby farms and grinds choice cuts into a precise mix. “Our currywurst has a fat content of only 20 percent. Normally, it’s around 35 percent,” explains Head Butcher Franco Lo Presti, who has been making VW currywurst since 1979. After mixing in the spices and packed into casings, the sausages are dried, smoked over beechwood and steamed for 100 minutes at 176 degrees. The final product is weighed, inspected and packaged for shipping to other Volkswagen plans or retailers, with a typical output of 18,000 sausages a day. For those workers who don’t prefer meat, VW has also made a vegetarian variant since 2010. And VW also made their own ketchup...
  8. Hi all, new potential 2nd hand car buyer here. Looking to get a 2nd hand car in the near future. Browsed through sgcarmart and I have shortlisted a few models of car. 1. Audi A3 Sedan 1.4A TFSI Ambiente The cars i shortlisted are roughly the same in terms of age (3Y8M left) and price (50k) 2. Ssangyong Tivoli 1.6A I personally like the way it looks. However, I do not really see much of this model on the roads and was wondering if there is a particular reason so. Years left is decent (4Y8M) , price (56k) I have also looked at Kia Cerato as well as Hyundai Elantra. Would like to seek your thoughts on which would be a more worthwhile car and if so, what other cars would be an alternative? Really appreciate the help and all advice in advance!

  10. Hi all, Since MMS is gone soon and my warranty is over too, I am looking for a good and reliable Mazda workshop for serving my Mazda5. Anyone has any good recommendation? TIA.
  11. Mod your ride? Happy and full of pride? Post it and poison us. Even if it is just stickers
  12. Hi all, Been hearing about how every & any add-ons or mod will void the car's warranty. I'm sure the agent (eg: KMC) will be quick to void the warranty at any opportunity given and hence, no point asking what 'add-on or mod" will void the warranty since I have already installed so many "add-ons" (eg: Voltage Stabiliser, Oil Catch Tank, K&N CAI, etc....). Been driving for 20 years and whenever I go back to Dealer's workshop, I always get the same reason... "It's wear and tear and I'll have to pay for replacement". So to me, warranty is like a MYTH..... do they even exist ? Hahahaha..... Instead, I will greatly appreciate if any kind souls can advise where you will go for your Hyundai car servicing after the initial KMC's 1000km servicing? Or is it really that important to go back to Komoco and have them do my maintenance & repair since this is my 1st Hyundai car ? Appreciate any valuable input.

  16. Been working from home since covid started. At first still have some alternate week arrangement but for the past 6 months totally never step into office. Just realized the following things 1) 6 months travel only about 500km. noticed this when I am scheduling for the next oil change. Wonder if can push the next oil change to a couple of months more. like change a year once 2) 1 full tank petrol can use 3 months. Maybe next time should top just 1/4 tank Any other ideas to save on maintenance for a real low mileage car?

  24. As a driver, I always groan whenever I see a cyclist in front of me. As bicycles are naturally slower than cars, they tend to hog the lane they're on and I try my best to always steer clear away from them as possible. Not everyone's like that though. Let's take this BMW driver in the video for example. In the video, dated 15th March 2021, you can see that the driver doesn't adhere to the 'keep a 1.5m distance away from cyclists' rule nor does he steer away from the bicycle. If I didn't know any better, it actually looks like the driver wanted to run the cyclist down. Here's the video (turn up the volume to listen in on the conversation): For those who don't understand Hokkien, don't worry, Uncle Koba will be your translator The heated exchange happens after the cyclist slapped/knocked the side of the car to warn the driver how close the car was to him. The driver comes to a stop and horns 🥳 The driver lets out a string of vulgarities that does not need any translation Cyclist: Eh, you purposely one is it? Driver: What's the matter? I'm driving!️ Cyclist: Why are you coming closer and closer to me? Driver: Did I bang you? Cyclist: The road so big, why you choose to keep to this lane? The rest of the video goes on to talk about their father, mother, cats & dogs. Then the driver speeds off, leaving a fuming cyclist in the dust 💨 Do you think the driver should have given more space? Or, do you think that the cyclist has very entitled views on how cyclists should be treated on the roads?
