  2. Hi, Out of curiosity, can anyone share with me the operation of PI especially from the buyer's perspective? I have minimal knowledge how AD operates but none on PI. Generally, after a customer signed the contract and assuming it is 3 guaranteed COE bids, which translates to 1 & 1/2 wait for the new car. Next, they will send in the loan application(if applicable) and the results will be known within 3 days. I know they neither bid for the 1st nor 2nd round and will only act in the last bidding unless they already have Open Cat COE. Any particular reason? Do they need to send every JDM models to LTA for testing/inspection? I thought only those cars hovering 97kw need "dynamometer test"? Pls enlighten me? Pls share with me more details so that I can learn more. Thank you very much.

  4. From Yahoo news: MSF, police investigate baby scalding incident at PAP childcare centre The Ministry of Social and Family development (MSF) and the police are investigating reports that a six-month-old baby suffered second-degree burns at the hands of a caregiver at a PAP Community Foundation (PCF) infant care centre. According to a Facebook user named Wendy Foo, the unnamed infant, a child of a friend of hers, was being looked after at the government-run Little Wings childcare centre in Boon Lay on Wednesday when his hands were scalded. Foo's account of the incident, in a post on her Facebook page, revealed that her friend was initially told by a caretaker at the centre over the phone that someone had spilled coffee onto his wrist by accident. It was accompanied by three pictures she posted of the baby's left wrist, perforated with bubbles, sagging skin and an angry red burn mark on the top side. "But my friend (said there) wasn't any coffee stain at all," Foo wrote. "So my friend insisted (to be given access to watch) their CCTV (footage), and the video show(ed) differently," she added, without elaborating on what her friend saw instead. In subsequent comments, she noted that the CCTV camera had only captured "half" of the area of the childcare centre, adding that her friend has withdrawn her baby from the programme. Foo also said her friend was told by a teacher at the centre that the person in charge was unable to travel there to speak to her because she stays "very far" away, adding that a complaint was lodged with the MSF. When contacted, a spokesperson for the Early Childhood Development Agency, a subsidiary of the MSF, confirmed it had been informed of the incident and is investigating. "The safety of our children is of utmost importance," the spokesperson told Yahoo Singapore on Thursday. "ECDA is investigating, and working closely with the centre to ensure that safety guidelines are adhered to." Local media reported also that the police have also been alerted to the incident and are investigating. Yahoo Singapore has also contacted the PCF for a statement. link: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/msf--police-investigate-baby-scalding-incident-at-pap-childcare-centre-035259766.html Look at the baby arm, sooooooooooooooo sad ...

  12. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1194457/1/.html How does it help us? By decreasing PR subsidy and not increasing ours? Happy for what? What a smart move to save money and make more differences between PR and citizens.
  13. My uncle-in-law and his family moved to Australia sometime ago. My uncle found a nice job there and will be away for a long long time. Problem is that my uncle is an only son and has always been taking care of her mum (my grand auntie). Being a conservative, dialect speaking illiterate old woman, grand auntie didn't want to follow my Uncle to Oz because she cannot communicate in English, she don't like Western food and so on.Because of this situation, my uncle made me a deal. I get to live in his executive HDB for free and he even left me his old MPV. The only catch is I must look after grand auntie. This sounds like a good bargain until I tell you grand auntie is very problematic. The old coot has kidney problems so I must drive her to dialysis every other day. She also wants to play mahjong with her friends every few days and I must chauffer her too. Then I also drive her to the wet market for her grocery shopping. My grand auntie has very "high standards" and like to complain a lot. If I drive too jerkily, she complains. If I oversleep a bit and she is late for her mahjong game, she complains. The worst is when the MPV broke down one night. She at me for 45 mins. But there is also some good news. Because the executive flat is very big, I have started renting the rooms out to foreigners. Renting rooms a is damn profitable business and I can easily get $500 off a single tenant. The best part is if one tenant complain the rents is too expensive, I just evict him and get a new one (such is the red hot demand). By squeezing as many tenants in as possible, I don't even have to work anymore (except look after grand auntie) Like I said earlier, the MPV broke down recently. According to the mechanic, this is because I have not been sending it for regular servicing (MPV don't belong to me, why should I spend so much $$$ on it?). Then ta ma de, grand auntie complained to my uncle so he is coming back to check on things. Therefore, I am seeking 3 advice: 1) How to make my grand auntie not comprain so much? 2) How to give the MPV minimal and most economical repairs so my Uncle wouldn't notice any issues? 3) Can recommend me more tenants? This is my main income stream.

  16. having trouble with leather goods at home, moldy... with high humidity in singapore, how to prevent mold on leather goods? anyone has good solution?
  17. In my opinion, housing prices, inflation will not go up too much. because dun forget a good 80% of singaporeans are working class. if prices go beyond their reach, they will become upset and resentful. and more importantly, if 4 years down the road, they vote for the opposition, the stakes are too great. So the current garmen got to and will tackle this problem. to those working class...dun worry too much. that's just my view.

  24. My buddy's dad was diagnosed with a 6.1cm lump in his easophagus, when he suddenly unable to eat or even sip water last week. Then he faced shortness of breath and was admitted to hospital for a week. The shortness of breath was due to the food particle and water diverted into the lung and cos lungs infection cos the lump was blocking up the whole aesophagus and he had to be on feeding tube. After a week in Hospital, the dad feel frustrated cos he dunno what's going on and till he gets fedup and want the feeding tube to be remove and go home. he also refuse to listen to doctor's advice. Because he is still fully conscious and agile, doc says we must respect his decision. Thus my buddy bring him home. His dad can "go" anytime at home cos doc says he is very high risk of getting choke because of the lump. Thus his mum is very scare if thats happened. Both my buddy and his brother left home early morning for work and will be home only at night. His mum also work in the morning few hours and back watch over him. But his mum very concern to be left alone with the dad, because she might be stressfull and unsure what to do if something happen to the dad when only both of them ard. Moreover, when the mum go to work in the morning, the dad will be left alone at home. Getting a day care nurse is very very ex for him...ard $150 daily for 4 hrs. Other than dat, what can my buddy do to find a helper for the mum to looks after the dad? Any suggestions are much appreciated. The dad is 81.
  25. Folks, I ve another query about accident. Suppose if you are driving n someone cut in so sudden and is a cfm accident. Will you steer away n crash to the side or you rather bang him frm the rear? Reason for asking this boh Liao question is becos i wonder if I crash to the side, I will have to claim my own insurance for the damage but if I choose to crash at its rear, at least the chance of claiming the other party is 50/50. Folks, pls take into consideration like there is no way to avoid the accident is either u hit him or u steer away. Pls share ur views. Thks
