  1. What is happening with the parking skills of the drivers in SG?! My wife's car kanna hit & run on the front bumper 2 times in this month! Question is: Can I claim 3rd party insurance against the errant driver if I have video evidence even if the other party denies? Do I have to make a police or accident report to my insurance authorised workshops? Totally disgusted.. please advise thanks!
  2. If you are the owner of the Toyota Previa (SFX 30xxE) parked in a parallel lot on 18 October on or about 11am, at the Holland Village MRT carpark, you were kissed at your rear bumper by a Chevrolet Epica (SGX 325xC). If you need the video footage, you can pm me for details. *edit date, I blur sotong*
  3. I parked my car at Ubi open carpark between blks 341 and 339. Found out the front bumper right side was badly brushed against, paint came off and such. Anyone witness which car did it? The perpetrator did not even leave behind an apology note.

  6. How does the EPS solve parking crunch? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To address the parking crunch at several parts of the island, the Housing and Development Board has announced that it is rolling out the Electronic Parking System (EPS) at all suitable car parks within the next few years. SINGAPORE: To address the parking crunch at several parts of the island, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) has announced that it is rolling out the Electronic Parking System (EPS) at all suitable car parks within the next few years. It will also be adding 1,000 more car park lots across the heartlands this year. Currently installed in about one-fifth of HDB car parks — or 412 out of 1,800 — the EPS "has proven to be effective in regulating parking demand, particularly at popular car parks with higher short-term parking demand", said an HDB spokesperson, in response to TODAY's queries. "EPS will be installed progressively at all car parks without site constraints, within the next few years," the spokesperson added. The system can only be installed in car parks whose entrances are wide enough to accommodate CashCard payment gantries. Where it is not feasible to install the EPS, the HDB said it will try to leverage other technologies to enhance car park operations. Noting that there are generally sufficient parking lots for both residents and short-term visitors, the spokesperson said the authority takes a two-pronged approach to meet residents’ need for car park spaces - by managing parking demand and increasing supply. Between 2010 and last year, 5,000 car park lots were added at a cost of S$66 million. The latest measures come as the proportion of households which own at least one car rose steadily to 46 per cent last year, up from 40 per cent in 2008 and 38 per cent in 2004. The average Season Parking Ticket take-up rate in HDB car parks is about 80 per cent currently, up from 68 per cent in 2007. Members of Parliament (MP) whom TODAY spoke to said parking is a concern among residents. Having enough parking space is “one of the top concerns” for residents in both public and private housing estates in the Bukit Timah Division, said Ms Sim Ann, MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC. Ms Sim said the HDB had just completed a temporary extension to an existing car park next to Block 204, Clementi Avenue 6, adding 24 “much-needed lots to an area that has been experiencing a parking-space crunch”. In Toh Yi estate, plans are under way to ride on ongoing development and upgrading projects to add more car park lots to the area, she said. In Tampines, some grass patches have given way to car parks, while kerbside parking has been introduced along a less busy stretch of road, said Mr Baey Yam Keng, one of the GRC's MPs. To cope with the shortage of parking lots in a few precincts in Marsiling, Mr Hawazi Daipi, MP for Sembawang GRC, said more temporary car parks are being built. "In addition, I have asked (the) HDB to speed up the implementation of (the) electronic parking system in the estates to regulate demand and supply," he added. Mr Zainal Sapari, MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, who noted that many car parks in his constituency see close to 100 per cent occupancy, suggested that the HDB allow the temporary car parks to remain, even after multi-storey ones are built nearby. "The HDB usually removes a temporary car park after (a) multi-storey (one) is built, so as to avoid entrenchment, but I feel it should be left there and taken away when needed," he said. Car owner Wilson Lim, 34, agreed with the HDB's move to introduce electronic parking in more areas. "It prevents people from parking longer just because they are using a coupon for a longer period," he said.
  7. I was inside my car after parking it in a proper lot. Off the engine and opened the door while I gathered my things. And out of no where, a lady said "how can he open the doors like that this is a walkway". I turned back and looked, she was walking to the next space looking frustrated and kept staring at me like I did something wrong to her. All these while I was sitting in the drivers seat. She looked 30+ with a 6+ year old girl. And then I thought to myself, this is a walkway? I got out and look, ok, it was a walkway behind my car. I just continued gathering my things, closed the door and went on my way. Look at the pics, I don't know what u guys will think. But to me, no big deal to just cross at the next car right? And I also did not know there is a walkway behind. So in your opinion, do u think I've done something wrong?

  12. Stomper Samuel saw this silver sedan with its wheels missing in a carpark at Blk 990, Jurong West St 93 earlier this morning. It is unclear why the vehicle, kept up by bricks, has no wheels, but the Stomper suspects foul play. He wrote: "Wheels been stolen or...." 13. This morning around 10.20 am, a black Malaysian plate proton JGP1805 suddenly stopped and reversed after it turned right into the carpark turn-in, hitting my stationary car's right bumper. Bloody faggot reversed back into the main road and drove off when I got down from my car and approached him to exchange particulars. If any bros spot this car pls let me know. Thanks.

  16. ANOTHER ONE! This time round seems like no one had any recording!! Stomper Alert Citizen saw what looks like a hit-and-run at a Tampines carpark last night (March 16). According to the Stomper, three cars were left damaged, with the black Toyota on the right sustaining the most damage. Stomper Stephen also spotted the accident and sent in a photo. The Stomper said: "I was walking past the carpark at Tampines Block 486 last night (March 17) when I saw this 'mess'. "Two cars and a lorry were left damaged in what seems to be a hit-and-run. "The black car on the furthest right was the most damaged and it seems like the culprit rammed into the car first, which caused it to veer into the two other vehicles. "Hopefully, the culprit can be caught." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/hit-and-run-accident-in-tampines-leaves-3-vehicles-damaged
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought delivery riders can claim back the carpark fee. So what difference does it make? http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/singapore/story/hdb-ura-car-parks-charge-motorcyclists-minute-parking-fees-instead-fla

  19. Here we go for the month of February, looking to meet up with new members and get in touch with old ones. We may even have a fellow Alfisti bring in a good deal for Sonax Rim cleaner which I've personally used to good effect. See you all soon. 1. Saabretooth 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
  20. I have been waiting for few yrs but no self-actions fr the relevant Authorities. Pls remove these tree roots in carparks as these hinder proper parking. *Cars cannot reverse fully for proper parking. Damages have to repaired dipping into one's private pockets. And pavements that are too high for cars to reverse too. Thanks har!
  21. hello bros.. i parked in takashimaya's carpark at lvl 6 last friday at ard 11pm to 2+am in the midnight. i was surprised to find out b4 i exit the carpark that i was charged $11+. Isn't the parking rate $4.28 per entry there from 6pm to 8am for weekdays? can any bros here explain how their rate there works?
  22. Bros, I don't know whether you guys encountered before. But I have been going in for the past few weeks during the afternoon. And always. Always the car park would be jammed up. I don't know why. Is it because of the renovation outside the exit? I think they might have to either A) Put a traffic light/warden in front of the CP exit to clear traffic B) bigger yellow box? Because the wait. No joke. 20-30 mins just to exit carpark...
  23. Hi All, My friend had a Hit and Run accident on 4th July'13 whereby he was utterly shocked to see his car condition when he went to get his car at the CP in the morning. His Brand new Audi was damage badly and had to be towed away. Unfortunately, the culprit drive away leaving 2 pcs of Blue color spare parts at the accident scene to give all of us a clue that this hit and run car is likely a Subaru Impreza (High chance a WRX or a wannabe WRX). I'm quite sad to know that this was caused by a Subaru driver as i also drive a Subaru as well and never know this dude has a really disappointed driving/parking skill or maybe has/her driving was boosted with lots of alcohol to showoff his courage and enhance the collision skill. Anyway. would hope mycarforum member can help to keep a lookout and whether any kind-hearted soul seeing a blue Impreza having a badly damage front on 4th July night or 5th July early morning at Bukit Batok area. Please contact:90280140...really appreciated!!! This accident was reported to the Police and investigation on-going. Hope the Carpark camera can help to locate the culprit asap. Not sure if the Blue Subaru Impreza culprit is reading this...just wanna let you know you need to go BBDC to learn how to park and drive and you're really a ball-less coward!!!! Thank you once again
