  3. Went for my 15k car servicing and waited for the whole day for my car even though the service centre promise me that the car will be ready within 4 hours. What turns me off is that there is no waiting area, no sofa, no TV, no drinks and not even newspaper for customers to read while waiting for their car. Wondering if Harvest Motor is really interested in the business a not?
  4. Guys, starting this thread to blog my visit(s) to the VCS. more updates to come once I have my file on hand.
  5. From Yahoo news: MSF, police investigate baby scalding incident at PAP childcare centre The Ministry of Social and Family development (MSF) and the police are investigating reports that a six-month-old baby suffered second-degree burns at the hands of a caregiver at a PAP Community Foundation (PCF) infant care centre. According to a Facebook user named Wendy Foo, the unnamed infant, a child of a friend of hers, was being looked after at the government-run Little Wings childcare centre in Boon Lay on Wednesday when his hands were scalded. Foo's account of the incident, in a post on her Facebook page, revealed that her friend was initially told by a caretaker at the centre over the phone that someone had spilled coffee onto his wrist by accident. It was accompanied by three pictures she posted of the baby's left wrist, perforated with bubbles, sagging skin and an angry red burn mark on the top side. "But my friend (said there) wasn't any coffee stain at all," Foo wrote. "So my friend insisted (to be given access to watch) their CCTV (footage), and the video show(ed) differently," she added, without elaborating on what her friend saw instead. In subsequent comments, she noted that the CCTV camera had only captured "half" of the area of the childcare centre, adding that her friend has withdrawn her baby from the programme. Foo also said her friend was told by a teacher at the centre that the person in charge was unable to travel there to speak to her because she stays "very far" away, adding that a complaint was lodged with the MSF. When contacted, a spokesperson for the Early Childhood Development Agency, a subsidiary of the MSF, confirmed it had been informed of the incident and is investigating. "The safety of our children is of utmost importance," the spokesperson told Yahoo Singapore on Thursday. "ECDA is investigating, and working closely with the centre to ensure that safety guidelines are adhered to." Local media reported also that the police have also been alerted to the incident and are investigating. Yahoo Singapore has also contacted the PCF for a statement. link: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/msf--police-investigate-baby-scalding-incident-at-pap-childcare-centre-035259766.html Look at the baby arm, sooooooooooooooo sad ...
  6. Dont know whether it should be at complaints or maken corner but anyway, Geylang Lor 20 Banana Fritters, you had disgusted me. When someone requested a namecard from your stall means that he/she will definitely buy again/recommend friends. But your actions (cook/boss or whosoever that fries the stuffs) disgusted me so much that I would like to let the potential customers to your stall did to an old auntie. The event (22nd Sept, Sunday around 12noon):- Auntie had ordered some pieces of stuffs from the stall requesting in a very nice tone "can you pick some nice ones for me (even all pieces look the same to anyone else)"? Helper gave her a smile and just picked randomly and packed it individually. Then auntie was chatting with helper about she couldnt find this stall at first and had bought from the wrong stall (few units from yours) couple of times. Then she had requested a namecard from the helper and the helper replied nicely "sorry we don't have namecards here". Auntie being old repeated that she always cant find this place and was about to leave. Cook turned around asked auntie "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!". Auntie replied "do you have namecard"? Cook "NO!" Auntie (about to leave).... Cook "Auntie, you had already picked your stuffs, so buy already and go.... Don't LoLoSoSo here!" Cook turned to helper "if that she buy 2000 pieces, I will surely entertain her. Buy 1-2 pieces talk so much". And the bananas you fried, 2.5/5. The better stall will be the one at longhouse at Sin Ming area which I will give it a 4.5/5. Msg to the cook, 2000 pieces, I will lick your boots, old & winkled, I dont care!
  7. Ever since i stopped detailing, i had been trying to find a good detailer to help in applying opticoat for my customers, for those recoating and new customers. Finally i chance upon this detailing centre located at one of the mscp in yishun. It was through recommendation from my uncle that probably this detailer maybe able to help me. I decided to gave Miracle detail a call to enquire if they can help to prep and apply opticoat for one of my customer who just collected his land rover evoque. Without much question, the guy i spoke to agreed. My customer had contacted me a few times to see if i have any detailer that could coat opticoat straight after collecting his car if not he will have to send back to the detailer that have opti coated his first car at a premium cost. At last i told him i had contacted one detailer that is able to do it and probably cost will be lower too. The question is can this Miracle detail do a good job? The appointment was today 10am. Once reach, we proceed to wash bay and so coincidence, i know this detailer and this gave me more confidence now. Singapore really small. Lol. Talk less..we proceed to the shop after car wash. My surprise, this shop is well equipped. Flex tools, spot lighting, brinkmamn inspection light etc. The cutting compound use was 3m. My customer was even more confidence with the shop now and he went for a premium package. The process, very detailed job. Each person doing each side of the car. Spot lighting on the surface and door panels. They even bring down the curtain to block the day light ensuring the place is dark enough for the inspection light to show the defects. This one really surprise. I would say even some of the shops does not have this gadgets or equipment. Cut it short, after applying ipa, is really bare metals now and ready to be coated. Lots of photos will be uploaded. This shop provide top notch service. Proper lighting and equipment is the most important tools a detailer need for paint correction. Prices are not expensive at all. Both are young bosses who hands on themselves and show great passion for detailing. Location is good, windy, near to coffeeshop amd 10mins walk to yishun mrt and northpoint. Overall i would recommend this shop if you want to do a detail.

  18. Published on Dec 8, 2011 Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force recovered a body from the shores of East Coast beach on Tuesday. The body, believed to be that of a 60-year-old Chinese man, was first spotted floating off the beach near the East Coast Seafood Centre. He was clad in a green T-shirt with stripes, black bermudas and black shoes. Shin Min Daily News reported on Wednesday that he was also bleeding from his eyes and nose. Police are investigating the case as an unnatural death. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_742581.html
  19. What is wrong with our system? Why the authority allow this to happen? http://forums.asiaone.com/showthread.php?t=44468 Lianhe Wanbao A reader told Lianhe Wanbao his take on why hawker food prices are getting higher and higher. Stall owners are said to be profiteering by transferring or renting their stalls out at inflated prices. These inflated rental prices lead to hawkers who have to charge higher prices to make a living. Prices borne by consumers like you and me. Besides increasing prices, some of these hawkers are also forced to work day and night without off days to afford the rent. Hawker centre prices are also increasingly comparable to food court prices. Reporters checked out such a phenomenon at the newly revamped Kovan hawker centre and found that stalls are being transferred at price tags of up to $300,000 each. That makes each stall about the equivalent of a new HDB flat. Stall owners are also renting out their stalls for up to $6,500 a month. This phenomenon is said to be happening all over the island, and the concerned reader is asking for the authorities to check on such practices. The National Environment Agency (NEA) states that stall owners that receive subsidies are not allowed to rent out their stalls to others, but are allowed to transfer the ownership of their stalls. The NEA manages 107 hawker centres and nearly 15,000 hawker and wet market stalls. About 42% of these stalls receive subsidies. Subsidised stalls pay between $160 to $320 rent every month, while non-subsidised stalls pay $300 to $4,900 every month.

  22. Beware the 'Windows Service Centre' scam Letter from Rex J Morais 16 Aug 2011 Today I am writing to warn your readers, after somebody claiming to be from a "Windows Service Centre" telephoned me about so-called error messages from my computer. The line was passed to "senior technicians" who, to some extent, convinced me that my computer had serious malware and spyware and that my firewall was corrupted. I was asked to download and install a software, "Teamviewer'" (which enabled them to control my computer), and to pay S$171 to get my software fixed or risk losing all my computer data within a few hours. As I could see that some changes were being made to my desktop, I promptly disconnected from the Internet, uninstalled the software and restored my computer to its previous settings. I realised it was a scam and a subsequent search online confirmed my suspicions. The scammers even gave a phone number, 8001012199, which does connect to a so-called "Windows Service Centre". There must have been other victims and I hope more are now forewarned.
