  6. There is NO speed camera on ECP towards Changi Direction, just before Fort Rd Exit. The speed camera there can only capture the opposite direction towards Rochor. So pls, STOP braking there! Its becoming irritating how everyone slows down to 70 there and some ridiculous drivers even jam brake there!
  7. Hi there, what happened? so long jam coz i see from my hdb side....
  8. Please all of you who still do not know... Please do not jam your brake coming down Sheares Bridge on ECP towards Changi because there is no camera on this direction since months? years? Every morning going to work, every car /taxis/ van/ lorry jam brake in unison approx 50 m before the camera (which is pointed at the opp rd), and slows all the traffic behind...
  9. A little off topic as this is car forum but think should rant a little, went to Big Eater at Upper Changi and ordered quite a few dishes inculding 1 big Chilli Crab (signature should be Crab with Salted Egg). Waited for about 40 mins before the crab arrived (during wait had a few other dishes, hor fun, hokkien mee, prawns, thai chicken..), was going to tuck in when realised that something seems wrong with the crab dish. 1 pincer seems bigger than the other, this could be quite normal so stir the chilli paste and found there were total of 5 claws (2 pincers should have 4 claws). Double counted and found really got extra empty broken off claw, stir further to check for all parts and realised many legs missing and 1 joint missing (supposed to have 2 joints for each pincer). Complained to the server and some staff in white shirt came over to help, told him to count the claws and ask where are the missing legs and joint. Also asked him how come some parts bigger and some smaller, he said will check with kitchen and replace. I told him do not trust the establishment since they did something like this in the first place, he kept insisting replace. I told him no way, cancel the crabby crab. In the end they still charged me for the buns which were wasted due to the cancelled crab, I find the crab incident very dishonest and just wana warn you guys if you go there makan to check properly. Imagine you order one big crab and you get mixed parts, wonder where they got the mixed parts from.... Hopefully not leftovers

  19. AFTER much fanfare and many 'oohs' and 'ahs' from visitors at the opening of Changi Airport's Terminal 3 (T3), one question needs to be asked: Is T3 an architectural achievement but a commercial failure? T3 has failed in three areas. Firstly, by building such an expensive new terminal, we have failed to recognise the current explosive growth and future market domination of budget carriers. How can Singapore and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) attract more airlines to operate from Singapore in the future with such a costly new terminal? Singapore's aim to become a competitive air hub will be hindered if low-cost carriers avoid Singapore because it is too expensive to operate at Changi. The game of becoming the next air hub in the region is not just about capacity but also about cost. Secondly, only Singapore Airlines for now is using the new T3, because of the new aerobridge for its Airbus 380 aircraft. But SIA is also keeping most its operations in the older T2. When T2 was launched, SIA was able to shift its entire operations to T2. I do not believe T3 or any single terminal is unable to handle SIA's entire operations. It is the higher cost of operating in T3 that will create future problems for SIA's operations. A handful of other carriers will operate from T3 only from May. I cannot help but wonder how much money will be lost while T3 is under-utilised and when T3 will turn in a healthy profit. Thirdly, we have failed to realise that fuel prices, a key cost component in the transport industry, have been rising since the oil crisis in the 1970s. Many airlines around the world have filed for bankruptcy. Cost is a major consideration for all airlines, and the global trend is to build low-cost terminals. Budget carrier JetBlue is building a new 26-gate 20 million capacity terminal (Terminal 5) at John F. Kennedy International Airport for only US$550 million (S$788 million). Mind you, that is in New York where building costs are among the highest in the world. Another waste money project by our high pay minister. What is new in spore, everything is inflated by our dear govt, maybe even the price of building it is inflated. We are a country with rich govt who will squander all our $$$ to attract the rich and FTs not sporeans,ok!!!!Even our upgrading of life cost an arm and leg, what more about a airport terminal.Everything is expensive in spore [/color]
  20. Was driving under the Changi Flyover this evening, and a trailer, carrying a crane boom, was too high and hit the Flyover as it passed underneath it. The crane boom was dragged off the trailer bed as a result, and debris, chains were flung onto the ECP. A pickup was hit by the falling debris. I could not avoid the debris and ruptured my front left tyre. My 16" rim was also scratched, and the car steering was mis-aligned. I stopped by the shoulder, put up the warning lights and changed the tyre. Spoke to the driver, and he was already prepared to go to jail. The EMAS team arrived later to put up road cones, and remove the debris. Going to make a claim with the transport company.

  22. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../326502/1/.html SIA plane returns to Changi Airport after loss of cabin pressure By Patwant Singh, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 02 February 2008 2008 hrs SINGAPORE : A Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-200 plane flying to Beijing had to return to Changi Airport some 90 minutes after takeoff due to loss of cabin pressure on Saturday afternoon. Officials say Flight SQ 802, carrying 232 passengers and 13 crew, suffered loss of cabin pressure at an altitude of 36,000 feet. So the pilot sent the plane first to 32,000 feet and then to 10,000 feet. Because of the rapid 6-minute descent, oxygen masks were deployed. However these were safely removed once the plane reached 10,000 feet, and was stable. SIA says the captain, in accordance with safety procedures, immediately initiated a return to Singapore - the nearest suitable airport. The plane landed safely and without incident at 1.48pm local time. Passengers were transferred to a different aircraft to continue their journey to Beijing. SIA says a detailed investigation is underway and apologises to passengers inconvenienced by the delay. - CNA/ch
  23. Hi, Need some advise/experience. Was at airport when an angmo in a company car reversed into my car and damaged my front bumper. exchanged particulars and left. I later went to StarAuto and was quoted/assessed just over $1K. he is honourable to admit fault, but not sure if his company car insurance will play punk with me and claim i rear ended him instead. since the air port is definitely covered by CCTV that must have recorded what happened. what are my chances if i just ask my insurance to claim against his and fight it even if his company refused to admit fault?
  24. Sent my parents to Changi last Friday night near midnight. The Taxis were queueing until the exit where PIE joins ECP towards airport [shocked] Amazing! They would rather wait then to prowl for business... This morning when I go to work, as usual, taxi hiding behind bukit panjang CC waiting for call booking these people ah... if they really hard working then won't be making their living as taxi drivers liao...
