  1. Just to check with u guys, how do I check my car battery using multimeter? checking the voltage alone? thanks in advance!
  2. On Sat morning, I drove my Citroen Berlingo van which was fitted with 4x175/65R14 MICHELIN tyres all the way from Sengkang to Hougang SPC to have my tyres check by their so called 'FREE professional tyre check by MICHELIN.' When I reached there, nobody approached me n I went over to one of the guys. He told me that they only checked cars tyres. So I asked him is it my van tyres not from MICHELIN? He told me my tyres are from factory??? I dun understand what crap reason he's giving me. Reaching home, I found the advt which I'd printed and called the distributor no. found there to verify. Later, the same guy called me back n insisted that they only check cars which was the instruction given by MICHELIN office. Still not satisfied, I scrutinized every word from the advt but there's no mention that the free check is only for cars. I'm not even driving a lorry or truck! I suspect that their FREE check is only for non Michelin customers to convince them to change to Michelin tyres during their next tyre change n ignore those that have already bought their tyres. If not, why did they refuse to check my normal fitted size tyres which can be easily found in tyres shops that sell their tyres? Well, to MR MICHELIN and company or Mr O_Kewl forumer(I believe u r working in Michelin), pls give me a better explanation than those given to me above. I suppose this will be the last time I'll be purchasing their tyres if that is how they treat their existing customers! Refer website below: http://www.michelin.com.sg/Home/News-Promo...essure?pid=231#
  3. Hi fellas, Michelin is conducting free tyre safety checks for motorists over 4 weekends starting next Saturday, 10 July at SPC Bukit Merah. You don't have to be on Michelin tyres. Just come on down between 10am and 5pm (i'll be there on Sunday). Check out the image below for dates & locations, otherwise head on over to Michelin Singapore We'll check your tyres' tread depths and pressures, give you an assessment on their general condition and offer our advice if necessary. There's a goodie bag as a thank you for letting us check your tyres but that shouldn't be the only reason for you to come down. Freebies include a pressure gauge, tread depth gauge, stickers, a keychain, a bunch of stickers & decals, etc. We did this campaign in 2008 and found that 71% of vehicles did not have the correct inflation pressure. For those with Facebook accounts, check out my 'White Circles' page for more info.
  4. I am not sure how much PSI reading to be optimal for tyres? And how do i know if it needs more pressure or not? I saw a gadget measuring PSI for $40, necessary?
  5. Check your CV joint and dust covers, mine busted around 10k ago and did not check now have knocking sound as all the grease is probably gone and the part is rubbing on my internal wheel drive arc when I turn hard. Cost is if not under warranty - over 1.2k to get it done.....shiong shiong. Checked outside third party people can get it changed at much cheaper price $$. So to all bros, watch out for it, get it done during your warranty. How to Check: 1. Park your car. 2. Turn the wheel to the right all the way to reveal the internal wheel drive arc. 3. dust cover can be seen, it is a rubber part, you can see if there is a tear on it. Suggestion: 1. Any small tear, if you are under warranty - get it changed. 2. Always check especially when you are at the 40-60k mark according to a few bros here that is when it will tear. Cheers and thanks for reading.
  6. I checked the coolant but level is ok leh. Got anywhere else to check boh? Thanks!
  7. In case you are not in the loop, or never pass by the above petrol kiosk today, there is a free tyre wear check done by Michelin tyres. It takes only about 5 minutes and you do not need to leave your car. After the check, you will get a goodie bag that have 4 tyre caps and a digital tyre gauge among other freebies like keychain, stickers, etc. They will check all your tyres pressure, and their inner and outer wear depth. This is good as it will allow you to know whether your tyres are inflated at the correct pressure, thus ensuring proper wearing and longer lifespan. Those who live nearby east coast especially can try lah. The event total actually span a few weekends at different petrol kiosk over the island. Can see some petrol attendants not very happy as the michelin staff just ushered the cars to the petrol pumps and do the check, even for those who never pump petrol. But they sure ar enthusiatic. Confirm no need to buy Michelin tyres for the event. The staff never once talk about the brand. They only talk about your tyres, like they are doing a public service.

What could be the possible reasons since they checked the oil and everything and found seemingly nothing? blessings and much gratitude,
  11. Many a times when we go for oil/filter or plugs chge, prices are relatively cheap,or affordable. But when the shops, or agents blend it the below, usually the bill will go up many fold. However, I wonder how do they check - just visual or each point use some sort of equipments. Many of the points I feel we can check also 12 POINTS CHECKS: 1. CHECK AND TIGHTEN CAR UNDERCARRIAGE - Maybe difficult for us as lack of venue to raise car 2. CHECK BATTERY CONDITION - confirm we can check 3. CHECK BRAKE - can we? Just look at the brake pads or the disc. 4. CHECK COOLANT - confirm we can check 5. CHECK POWER STEERING - maybe difficult as we need to see really inside the engine part 6. CHECK CONDITION OF ALL DRIVE BELTS - if not too much belts, think we can check 7. CHECK COOLING HOSES & CONNECTIONS - cars have some hoses real difficult to see 8. CHECK ENGINE MOUNTING - think this no need to check, more of feel usual noises if mounting are gone 9. CHECK DRIVE SHAFT BOOTS - can see what 10. CHECK BALL JOINTS & DUST COVERS - easy to see 11. CHECK FRONT & REAR SUSPENSIONS - easy to chk also 12. CHECK WHEEL BEANING CONDITION - a bit difficult 13. CHECK GEARBOX - check for what??????? any guests wanna share their views - is it worth to pay much more for things we can do,or rather most of the time we can't even see if the workers do cause we will be sitting in an sir-con room drinking kopi/teh

That is the last day for making claims and objections to rectify any errors in the Registers. 19. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate section to post this incident, but here it goes. I witnessed a YELLOW MAZDA 3 (SFQ 9016 K) reverse and hit a SILVER MITSUBISHI LANCER (non EX) (SGS 4059 Y) parked outside a coffeeshop near the Jurong East Sports Complex at 7 plus in the evening. The wife of the driver of the yellow mazda 3 came out to inspect the damage before they fled the scene. To the driver of the mitsubishi lancer, if you need me to be a witness, please pm me. Thanks.

  25. Hi Everyone, I recently issued a POSBank cheque to pay for my Citibank credit bill of $92.27 but to my horror POSB debit $9227 from my account!!! I was so shocked and keep trying to remember did I wrote the wrong amount on the cheque??? Called up POSB to check and confirmed I issued the correct amount but they push the blame to Citibank saying Citibank key in the wrong amount into the system!! I was like what the fxxk do they mean its Citibank fault!! Questioned them how come they debit the money without checking on the cheque issued....giving me all sorts of excuse that this is how the current account system works and they will verify the correct amount before releasing the money to citibank and POSBANK will defintely spot the mistake and so on.. To me its all bxxxxxxt...how can they just debit the money from my account without verifying with the cheque I issued!!! Demanded they give me an official reply on how such mistake can happen and seriously thinking of filing a complain about this issue...Any suggestion on who or which department should I file a complain with for this matter??? Hope everyone out there keep track of the amount of money debit from your account for the cheque issued....Makes me wonder is it safe to issue cheque again.
