  1. The car plate makes me wonder if this is a Singapore registered car. 🤔
  2. In his latest video for his Chris Harris Drives series, Harris tries to convince us that the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe is very much an underrated GT car. We kind of agree with the him as the large luxury coupe often gets overshadowed by the its rivals from Porsche, Bentley and the likes. That being said, he reckons that the big mercedes is nowhere inferior to them as it provides him the perfect combination of speed and comfort. Interestingly, Harris drove a pre-facelift model in his video that is using the older 5.5-litre V8 engine vs the newer 4.0-litre unit found in many current AMGs. We guess it doesn't matter much as both engines are absolute gems.
  3. Chris Harris goes classic mini racing in his latest series of Chris Harris Drives video. If you love racing, you probably would want to have a go in the car too. With 60 old school Minis gathered in Goodwood for the celebration of the model’s 60th anniversary, Harris got to remind himself how fun it was to drive the Minis as racing cars. These specially prepped cars had 125bhp and could rev over 8,000rpm. While the power output doesn't sound like much, it only weighs 620kg and with the help of a limited-slip differential and many modern components, the Minis can average an impressive 150km/h around the track.
  4. Manthey Racing's Porsche 911 GT2 RS broke the production car lap record of the Nurburgring with a time of 6:40.3 last year. Chris Harris drives it in his latest video. For those who have no idea who is Manthey Racing, it is a basically a company filled with people who can make your Porsche GT2/3 RSs even more 'RS'. Partly owned Porsche, the company prides itself as the experts of the Nurburgring and has modified the GT2 RS you see in the video even better for track use. The results are amazing as it beats cars like the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and the McLaren P1 LM at the Green hell by more than three seconds. Shot at Portimao circuit, Chris Harris has a go in the Porsche 911 GT2 RS which has the MR Performance kit. Consisting of a trick KW coilover suspension, new endplates on the rear wing along with a different splitter, underbody panels, rear diffuser, better brake pads and new lightweight magnesium wheels, it allowed Harris to go faster than he did with the McLaren P1, the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
  5. Just before the Le Mans-winning Porsche 919 Hybrid goes into full retirement at the company’s museum, Chris Harris has a go in the car. With a total of six world championship titles sealed in total between 2015 and 2017, the 919 Hybrid has proved itself in terms of engineering and design in the racing world. With lots of downforce and a very clever 900bhp-plus hybrid powertrain, the 919 Hybrid is very effective car that tries to make it as easy as possible for the driver to consistently do fast lap times. Watch the video and see for yourself why Harris says that this is the first car he has driven that feels like its thinking its way around the circuit.
  6. For the past few years, BMW has been building one of the best 2.0-litre diesel engines in the market, and that remains pretty much unchanged when we talk about the latest 320d model. We had a short stint in one when we did our 'Fighters of the Street' feature. I must say the car's standout feature is its diesel engine. Like all diesel engines, they pull really strong when needed while it not using much fuel at all. This one even manages to feel as smooth if not smoother than its petrol sibling, the 320i. FYI, it outputs 181bhp and 380Nm of torque and will hit 100km/h from standstill in 7.5 seconds. Top speed is a decent 235km/h. The 320i does the similar sprint faster by 0.2 seconds but is no faster flat out. Of course, its handling is right up there like most BMW products would be too. Not convinced? Let Chris Harris explain that to you in the video below then! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKrXFTL_6pw
  7. Just an amazing video all around. The run simulation in the acrobatic aircraft is mindblowing.
  8. While some might think that going sideways is a waste of time and effort, we think not. Like what Chris Harris says, there is a tension in the whole car that is super enjoyable when you manage to get it into a sliding stance. Of course, having a tail happy car like the BMW M235i in the video helps too. Without further ado, watch the video and learn how to drift like a pro. http://dai.ly/x22jdu6_how-to-drift-bmw-m235i-chris-harris-on-cars_auto
  9. The Pagani Huayra is one of the highly anticipated cars this year. The successor to the highly successful Zonda, the Huayra has large shoes to fill, and it didn't disappoint. Honestly I am not sold on the styling. Though the car looks absolutely fabulous in red and I highly think it should have been the launch colour instead of the metallic silverish colour, the front facia doesn't attract me like the Zonda did. Things that I like are the active aerodynamics flaps that reminds me of airplanes, the side mirrors that were inspired by the eye of a female and the rear with the iconic 4 central exhausts. I like the the gullwing doors which is refreshing compared to the usual Lamborghini scissor doors or the McLaren butterfly doors. The interior looks avant-garde yet flashy and loud and reminds me alot of Dutch supercar Spyker. The one thing I can't comment is the performance, well because neither have I nor my colleagues at SGcarmart have driven one, though given the opportunity we would love to. I have been spending some time on the web reading and watching reviews of the Huayra and though of sharing 2 videos that caught my interest. One is from the self confessed Petrol Head Jay Leno and its has Horacio Pagani himself in the video to explain the car. The second reviews comes from a guy named Chris Harris from the Drive network who shares his honest experience with the Huayra, more of a video blog style, including his initial frustrations at the Italian airport.
