  2. hi, would like to check if any of you sign up for such gym membership? yesterday is the first time i went to such gym, truefitness located at parkway. the exercise class really enticed me, full of energy and life. membership is $89 per mth over a year, personal trainer is around $90 per hour session.. thought of signing up the fitness-plus located at changi business park as it's really much affordable. $60 per mth however, the down side is not night classes but they have a 25m swimming pool. cool! i'm more keen into the exercise class compare to weights, free time would be after 7pm to 10pm. any gd advise?
  3. Hi biatch owner of the silver E-Class at 2110 along Lornie Road towards Farrer Road, Not only you almost grazed the side of my car, you simply can't keep within your own lane and yet you have the farking audacity to horn and flash others in front of you. You truly deserve all the horning and fingers shown by myself and others. And to the white Corolla, just in case you misunderstood my actions, it was all against this farking half-wit biatch. I can see that you were one of the victims too. Please look out for this car folks, cuz the owner can't drive for shlt.

  7. http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/lounge/41487-...ing-battle.html sockster Fighting a losing battle Somehow the majority of Singaporeans automatically "hate" those to drive better and more expensive cars than them. It would take the smallest of things to set off these bunch of low-lifes. Take a look at this thread over here. Looking for BMW SGF 855K Series 523i @AYE Jurong - www.hardwarezone.com.sg i'd bet if it were a random rice-out civic or some other s--t-box the TS would've let it go, instead he's trying to create a mountain out of a molehill because the other driver pawns him in real-life. btw in NOT that guy he is referring to in that thread its just that im feel infuriated for us BMW/merc/expensive car drivers. this trend seems to be quite apparent in low class forums such as mcf and and above said

  9. not trying to be racial here.. but a fren recently told me that after travelling around the world for the past few yrs, he realised that no matter what, end of the day humans are ranked in this order: whites, yellows, darks, blacks. he has learnt to accept this in the course of doing business. sad truth.
  10. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently investigating the 2005 and 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class for a wiring harness issue that could prevent the airbags from deploying in a collision. There are about 100,000 vehicles that could be affected if a recall notice is issued, and NHTSA says that it's received four complains of failures of the wiring harness, though there have been no reported injuries as a result of the issue. Mercedes spokesman Robert Moran reportedly told Bloomberg that the condition presents itself when drivers telescope the steering wheel all the way out and and as high as it can go. Under those conditions the potentially defective harness could pull out of the connector block, causing an open-circuit condition in the driver's airbag circuits. If the harness disconnects from the connector, the air bag warning lamp will illuminate and one of two diagnostic fault codes will point to the problem. The German automaker sent out a TSB back in December 2005 to address the issue, which is fixed with what NHTSA calls a "substantially longer" wiring harness. The TSBs, which have been updated over time, covers MY 2003-2009 E-Class and the MY 2006-2010 CLS, though only the 2005 and 2006 E-Class is currently being investigated. Hit the jump to read over the NHTSA summery of the investigation. [source: Bloomberg]
  11. i got npnt but take my word today i was at alps when i walked past a class 4 lorry. what i saw next was astonishing the front tires were so bald that there were no grooves left whatsover, and the driver still drives the thing !, apart from his employer's cost saving measures dont he value his own life ? lta should really step in, conduct random spot checks and fine the companies. never in my life have i seen smooth tyres, and i mean smooth like baby backside.
  12. One man was killed and a Daimler test driver was injured in an accident on Autobahn A81 near Rottweil, Germany. In the early morning hours of the April 23 the 52-year-old Daimler employee was testing a 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class prototype SUV when he struck a 26-year-old man exiting his vehicle. Moments before, the younger man had a problem with his vehicle that led to a minor collision with a guard rail on the left side median. Two other motorists, aged 29 and 57, stopped to assist the man when the M-Class approached at a high rate of speed. Apparently not seeing the accident site, the Daimler driver crashed into the other vehicle as the 26-year-old was emerging from his own car. The test driver's vehicle flipped over, and travelled an additional 250 feet before coming to rest on its roof. Emergency responders transported the test driver to the hospital with serious injuries. Neither of the two good samaritans required treatment in a hospital, as both managed to jump over the guard rail to safety. Only the 57-year-old received minor injuries, likely from the fall. A video of the accident shows damage to a third car, possibly the vehicle driven by the roadside assistants. The crash took place on a stretch of A81 that connects Singen and Stuttgart, where Mercedes-Benz and Porsche prototypes are often tested under the cover of darkness. There is no posted speed limit on that stretch of motorway. Police have not yet determined the responsible party, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Property damage at the scene was estimated at
  13. Mercedes has announced several changes to the C-Class lineup. First and foremost, the C-Class is now available with a new entry level 1.8-liter direct injection engine in the C 180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY and C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY. Equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and an engine start/stop system, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions receive a 10% reduction. The C 180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY has 115 kW (156 PS / 154 hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. This enables it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.0 seconds, before topping out at 225 km/h (140 mph). The C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY produces 135 kW (184 PS / 181 hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It allows the car to run from 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, while emitting 158 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The new BlueEFFICIENCY equipped C 220 CDI features a 2.1-liter diesel engine with 125 kW (170 PS / 168 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It is now equipped with start/stop and 6-speed manual transmission which drops consumption to only 4.4 L/100km (53.4 mpg US), making it the most fuel-efficient C-Class of all time. Last but not least, Mercedes also introduced the C 250 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY. Boasting all-wheel drive and a 150 kW (204 PS / 201 hp) 2.1-liter diesel engine, this is the first time Mercedes has mated a four-cylinder diesel with an all-wheel drive system. The C 250 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.0 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).
  14. Last September, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Honda looking for restitution for 750,000 late model Accord and Acura TSX owners. The suit claimed that a design defect in a new braking system led to excessive force on the rear brake pads that reduced the lifespan of the pads from 70,000 miles to under 20,000 miles. The cost to replace those rear pads? The suit claims the average total is about $150, but if the rotors were damaged, the price can spike to $250 or more. A report in The New York Times shows that the months of legal wrangling has paid off for 750,000 owners of 2008 and 2009 Accords and the 2009 (plus a few 2010 models) Acura TSX. Honda has reportedly agreed to settle the suit without admitting responsibility or any wrongdoing, while also providing cash to customers with the brakes in question. Owners who have already gotten their brakes done will receive one half of the cost of repairs, or a maximum of $125, whichever is less. The owners in question will also receive $150 towards the cost of a set of new rear brake pads that Honda says will last longer than the units being replaced. The law firm handling the case will reportedly receive $2 million for its efforts. In total, Honda could be on the hook for well over $100 million if all affected owners receive new brakes. With the class-action suit settled, the next step is for Judge Margaret M. Morrow of the United States District Court for the Central District of California to give the agreement an official seal of approval in May.
  15. Some US dealers are very much concerned about an alleged plan by Daimler's Mercedes-Benz division to offer all S-Class models as hybrid-only within its next-generation line. Word is Stuttgart is planning on doing away with petrol- and diesel-only power for the upcoming S-Class, due in Europe in 2013 and the US in 2014. This would help keep its C02 emissions commitments within stringent European and upcoming US laws, and help it claw back some lost ground to Lexus in the hybrid race. But the dealers are apparently not impressed. "The most important thing in the American market," said Tommy Baker, chairman of the Mercedes-Benz dealer board and a Charleston, S.C., Mercedes dealer, "regardless of hybrid, lithium or electric cars, is that we Americans are different than any market and we are going to want those gasoline engines." Dealers' greatest fear is they will not be able to sell these S-Class hybrids. One or two hybrids in the range yes, but an entire mode line? After all, their biggest competitors from BMW and Audi have not made any such radical plans, although hybrids do form part of their overall product mix as well. Our previous report on this matter stated that AMG models, the S 63 AMG and the S 65 AMG were to be exempted from the hybrid craze but according to Automotive News it seems they may not after all. Selling a luxury hybrid in America is not such a big deal. Just ask Lexus who sold about 10% of all their cars to the hybrid brigade last year. But a performance AMG hybrid? That could take some convincing.
  16. Mercedes-Benz plans to begin production of a new, Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, with sales and assembly scheduled for a 2011 launch. A press release from the automaker marks the first time the car has been confirmed officially. The coupe will be manufactured in Bremen, Germany, next to the three other C-Class models, including the GLK SUV. All four models will be produced on the same flexible line at the facility, which is also responsible for the E-Class, SL and SLK. When the C-Class Coupe hits the market, it will serve as a replacement to the CLC, according to a Mercedes press release. It will likely be sold at about the same time as the facelifted C-Class four-door and five-door, and will most definitely not look like the CLC sketches we previously revealed. "We went back and studied what made our coupes so popular in the past," an unidentified source told Autocar. "If you look at some of the more successful two-door models Mercedes-Benz has produced, you can see a direct relationship between them and their four-door stablemates." The new coupe is expected to look more like the other C-Class models, and less like the cancelled CLK. The entire C-Class lineup will be due for its fourth generation introduction in 2014, meaning this version of the two-door will only be available for a few years. Because of this, the automaker is not expected to release a convertible version of this particular two-door. "We did look at an open-top version but in the end the costs were too high given the short model life," the source told Autocar.
  17. New information has emerged further clarifying the supposed Mercedes B-Class AMG we reported yesterday. According to Autocar it will actually be a four-door coupe based on the B-Class platform - not an AMG powered five-door compact MPV. Inspired by the F800 concept, which recently debuted at that Geneva Motor Show, the car (reportedly codenamed C117 EVO) will likely measure less than 4500mm (177 inches) in length. As a modern day successor to the 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, it will feature bold styling and a luxurious interior. Power will be provided by a supercharged 3.2-liter V6 with approximately 400 bhp (298 kW / 406 PS). Based on the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, which will be introduced on the new CLS 350, the engine will feature a smaller displacement and an electrically-operated pressure wave supercharger. Despite riding on the front-wheel drive MFA platform, which will also be used in the next generation A-Class, the four-door AMG will likely offer all-wheel drive with a rear-biased setup. While nothing is official, a possible launch is slated for 2012 or 2013.
  18. Shortly after the next-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class launches in 2011, it has been reported that the United States will receive its own version of this car. Now, a new report from Automotive News suggests that an AMG-tuned version of the diminutive B-Class could be in the works, as well, set to rival European hot hatches like the Audi S3 and Volkswagen Golf R. The tuned-up B-Class will be the cheapest AMG offering, in an attempt to attract younger enthusiasts to Mercedes-Benz showrooms. AN reports that the smallest AMG will likely be powered by the all-new 5.5-liter, twin-turbo V8 a specially tuned four-cylinder engine and, like all AMG models, will feature slightly revised body work, better brakes, a sportier suspension and revised interior trim. Expect the AMG B-Class to launch in Europe around early 2012. No official timing for the U.S.-version of the B-Class has been set, but 2012 seems like a safe bet for that, as well.
  19. ST Forum Home > ST Forum > Story Feb 25, 2010 BUDGET 2010 Give us a break - increase personal tax relief THIS year's Budget was disappointing because it excluded tax breaks for individuals and families. Personal relief for the taxpayer, his spouse and qualifying child relief deserved attention. The wife relief of $2,000 per year works out to about $5.50 per day. The Finance Ministry should also have left the 20 per cent income tax rebate untouched, at least for this year. Increasing the personal tax relief will put more cash in the hands of many cash-strapped breadwinners. The Government will get some, if not much, of it back anyway via the goods and services tax. While the economy may have brightened somewhat, middle-income earners are still struggling, especially with cashflow problems. Andy Leong
