  1. Good news? 14114 COE quota will be available from Feb to Apr 2015. Increase from 11932. Lets hope COE come down
  2. My first time starting thread. Lets talk about new car in the market. Why COE so expensive..? I did abit of brain storming, this might be 1 of the reason why its forever so high.. AD bidding up high.. as they are earning base on commission. how much to earn from 110k & a 40k with 0.2% - 0.5% ++ SO maybe they bid up high as well as to easily secure a ticket for their own payroll. *if we stop AD to bidding behalf for us, this might improve alittle bit more.. instead AD keep calling us & told us to top up abit more to get the COE. & second solution is, not to allow AD to keep the COE bidding. I heard that AD are able to keep it for some grace period. AD
  3. Lets all guess what happens by this year end
  4. Not old news leh but seems like MAS going to do something finally? Will this reduce the demand???
  5. Just curious, what is the COE amount which you all are willing to pay? For those who have a car already, how much COE have you paid? For me it's $10k maximum. And I have been waiting for many years for the COE to drop but to no avail. I waited and waited, until hairs become white already, but the COE still remains very high, I cannot afford it. When do you guys think COE will drop to 10k? Can you guys afford to get a car now? At this time and date? Sad case for me though.
  6. r Cat A & B going to break $60k n $70k marks, respectively? n demand continue to drop?? the est COE quota frm Aug 2015 was computed in Post #429 here: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2696791-monthly-sharing-on-dereg-data-projected-coe-quota/page-22?do=findComment&comment=5512951
  7. we hv more quota now, back to the level last seen in 2009 Mar!!! at the same time, there were/are more buyers signed/signing the dotted line, so will it still go down this round??
  8. Hi All, Need your opinion on something. I signed a sales agreement but there was a major feature missing. I spoke to my SA and we managed to iron things out. I was offered a chance to either top up for that option at dealer cost and indent the car (3-4 mths wait) or I could get my money back now. This is a guaranteed Coe with rebate is at 57K. We currently have a really old car to drive that's still alright so getting around isn't a big issue. Would you guys take the current price + top up and hope for a lower Coe come Nov -Dec. The top end is capped and there maybe quite a bit of downside. Or just take back the deposit and wait... I really like the car. But this experience has kinda soured my experience. I'm not angry but a bit upset with the way things have turned. What are you views? Cheers J
  9. r we going to see all green again b4 the next surge in quota next mth??
  10. Something my enthusiast friends did and shot for fun with non-pro equipment over the course of many many weekends. Documenting our cars for memories in case we can one day no longer afford to renew their COEs. https://vimeo.com/128138034 *no lacing was involved*

  12. bidding period: 2/6 @ 12pm to 4/6 @ 4pm now that most of CEVS chasers could hv been cleared. r we going to see more greens n more importantly, lesser number of bids (ie. lower demand)? the est COE quota frm Aug 2015 was computed in Post #407 here: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2696791-monthly-sharing-on-dereg-data-projected-coe-quota/page-21?do=findComment&comment=5484266
  13. Just wondering if this is a 'normal' or unfair practice. I booked a Cat-A car from a top AD here about 1 mth before, when COE was $67k and the car price reflected as such. During the May 1st bidding, SE says they bidded at 68k, but COE went to 68.6k. Then came May 2nd bid, SE then says they bidded at under 65k instead !?!???? and alas did not get the COE which ended at 66.6k. Thought i paid at a price based on $67k COE, why did the AD shortchange me by bidding lower ?? Is this common?
  14. Couldn't find it online. Next Monday is Vesak day, so will the next round be postpone till the week after next?
  15. will Cat B & E continue to go down like Cat C? will Cat A u-turn? the est COE quota frm Aug 2015 was computed in Post #407 here: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2696791-monthly-sharing-on-dereg-data-projected-coe-quota/page-21?do=findComment&comment=5484266
  16. A) After renew COE for an OPC car, can we convert it into normal car? Do we still need to pay the $17k ? Can't find this info from LTA website B) does car after renewal of COE, run another 10years., be able to renew COE again ?
  17. Hi , My current CAR COE expiring soon in Aug 2015 . I'm considering one of 3 following options : 1. Buy a new car with High COE 2. Buy a 2-3 used car , and buy new car in 2017 . 3. Give up driving for the time being , and buy new car in 2017 Any suggestion ? or anyone selling their 7-8 years old car ? Thanks .
  18. now with: 44% more Cat A, 28% more Cat B, 100% more Cat C, 14% more Cat D & 54% more Cat E will there b any difference? the est COE quota frm Aug 2015 was computed in Post #380 in this thread: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2696791-monthly-sharing-on-dereg-data-projected-coe-quota
  19. so, with 44% more Cat A, 28% more Cat B, 100% more Cat C, 14% more Cat D & 54% more Cat E frm jz 2 wks later (!!), will all AD continue to bid aggressively this round??
  20. You were waiting eagerly for your car and you were euphoric when told your new baby is ready for collection.... ...but did you have any post collection disappointment after taking the new car like quality niggles here and there or the car doesn't look as good compared to showroom or FC is way off or certain options/capabilities you assumed but were not there or the freebies are cheap knockoff etc etc. Please share your experience
  21. Cat D – for motorcycles – S$6,801 to set another record high. These piece of paper can buy a 2 ~ 3 used bikes in the old days. I can't understand why there is such a high demand for motorcycles. Nowadays, I can see more people riding the luxury bike like Harley Davidson, BMW etc.. These people indirectly or directly push the coe up, I think so. Normal people need a small cc bike for personal or to do dispatch job etc. This coe has a great impact on these group of riders. In the current coe, LTA should sub-divide the Cat D category to Cat D1 & Cat D2. D1 for motorcycle less than 200cc and D2 for motorcycle above 200cc. How can I know the sale figure of the motorcycle maker ?
  22. demand seems high especially for bnb Cat A cars. what is the impact of 3 wks' break?? the est COE quota frm May 2015 was computed in Post #200 in this thread: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2696791-monthly-sharing-on-dereg-data-projected-coe-quota
