Food delivery rider has a rough landing after being hit by a taxi

Siala, SQ price all time high now this is the only way the food delivery rider can fly. What happened? A food delivery rider on Tanjong Rhu Road had a nasty accident while trying to make a right turn, as he was obscured by another car from the view of an approaching taxi, leading to a T-bone collision. The food delivery rider was going to enter what seems to be a condominium when a yellow taxi appears out of nowhere and slams into the bike. The rider was sent flying off the bike, its parts flying across the road while he landed headfirst on his helmet. That helmet probably saved his life, as we see him get up soon after the crash. Bro said nothing would stop him from delivering the food: I hope whoever he delivers to gives him a big tip. Online chatter People are saying it’s the rider’s fault due to not checking his own blind spot. In my opinion, that’s fair enough since they’re already cutting across many lanes and would be blocked by the grey car. According to eyewitnesses, the Domino's Pizza delivery bike was traveling straight on Pioneer North Road when the Nissan NV200 made a right turn without signaling, causing the collision. Sparks fly on BKE after motorcyclists collide and knock each other down

The rider at fault was surely having a good time going fast, feeling the cool night wind against them as they wove through traffic. However, they wove one too many times, and are now likely facing a lot of trouble. What happened? On 21st March 10.40 p.m, at Bukit Timah Expressway, two motorcyclists went into each other after one of them did an abrupt lane change at high speed without even a turn signal in order to exit the expressway. The rider who got hit was knocked down first before the rider at fault knocked into a car and off the bike, as well as their passenger. The condition of the bikers and the pillion rider is unknown. The cam car was traveling a safe distance behind the Mini when the Mini decided to filter lane and brake simultaneously. This caused the cam car to bang into it as s/he did not manage to react and e-brake fast enough. 0% defensive driving skills… 100% zoning out… Just a random question I had in mind while watching the video: Is it true that all rear end collisions are caused by the vehicle behind? TL;DR - A collision occurred in Yishun between a Kia Forte and Honda Vezel at the yellow junction box. Every Singaporean would know what it means to be kan cheong. We are basically born to sweat ‘kiasu-ness’. For our foreign friends, kan cheong simply means impatient, edgy and hasty. So a kan cheong spider just refers to someone who possesses such traits. Watch this 51-second video of a Honda Vezel colliding into a Kia Forte as it drives out from a minor road straight into the second lane of the main road. What happened? The Honda Vezel was coming out from a HDB block in Yishun (oof, what’s new?) onto the main road when an incoming Kia Forte zoomed past, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Inevitably, both the Vezel and Forte’s front bumpers suffered some form of structural damage from the impact. But the question is: who is at fault? Should the Vezel drive into the first lane first before signaling to the second lane, or should the Forte have slowed down, knowing that there is a yellow junction box just ahead? As many of you know, and as written in many of our past articles, errant cyclists who pay little heed to traffic rules are often complained about and mocked online due to them misbehaving on the roads but quickly zipping away after, with no consequences in sight. For this very unfortunate cyclist however, he got the results of flouting the rules---- instantly. The cyclist may have tried to beat the red light, but ultimately failed, in the worst way possible. He starts out here. Flying down the road, he was soon collided into by the white vehicle, who definitely had ZERO idea that the cyclist was there, and probably had NO way to stop due to the speed. A second later the cyclist was rammed into by the second vehicle, which immediately halted at impact, and like the first car, could not possibly have stopped in time. To these vehicles, it would have been like the cyclist had appeared out of nowhere. The force of the impact caused the cyclist to fly forward and land in front of the second navy blue vehicle. Soon after, the drivers of both cars got out to check on the cyclist. It would be a shocking sight to anyone, including us viewers on the internet. Netizens seem to have a general consensus As you can imagine, the feedback was swift and merciless. This was one of the more civil comments we received that we agree with. We hope the drivers were not penalised as it really was not their fault. Some others crowed in glee, and spared no moment in jeering at the injured cyclist. Sometimes we encounter mind-boggling sights on the road that leave us scratching our heads. What happened and how did it get there? Recently we spotted yet another such scene circulating on one of our favourite pages: The page had captioned it "You can't park there, Sir." Immediately, we thought that the car had deliberately parked itself there in the middle of the road. Mystified, we did some sleuthing and re-watched the video, as well as digging through the comment section. Aha! Actually, contrary to the caption, the car was not been parked on the road as an act of obstinate rule-flouting, but had most possibly gotten into an unfortunate collision with a heavy vehicle ahead. We have edited the picture for the readers' better viewing clarity. The said heavy vehicle was spotted ahead, parked on the road shoulder: Furore descends. Many netizens protested at the arguably misleading caption of the page, pointing out the BMW's damages and the presence of the heavy vehicle at the road shoulder. Two commentators were engaged in discussion, regarding the actualities of the sight. Some had already assumed it as their immediate and final stance, that 'Yes, it was definitely an accident!' There was also an overwhelming barrage of netizens pointing out the seemingly obvious: Yet another wave, some expressing exasperation with the caption's assumption: Oh dear... Alright guys, I think we can also see for ourselves. Further explanations Other than the netizens who were not so pleased with the choice of words, there were those who jumped in to account for the context of the caption: As well as this "Oh, I see!" moment: Well, to be very fair, not everyone watches TikTok so not everyone will get the reference, so captions like these can lead to slight misunderstandings. Although, it is also not very ideal to use such a flippant caption when someone was just involved in an accident, with damages incurred and repair fees to pay for. Discretion is important! In the early hours yesterday morning, right when many of us would have been waking up and getting ready to go to work, those on the Kranji Expressway were thrown into a panic when this accident occurred: How did it happen? The scenario went like this: the motorcyclist was just going straight ahead. At the far left, some other cars were shifting lanes, moving to the right: Disaster strikes. Unfortunately, the Kia Niro (immediate closest) to the motorcyclist made a rash and foolish decision--- to swerve abruptly. This gave the motorcyclist about approximately a second to react, which wasn't enough, of course. Cue the imminent collision. It didn't stop there, as the force of the sideswipe was strong enough to propel the motorcyclist into the flank of another car ahead; its second collision. The tumble onto the hard tar road was inevitable: Oh my god! Our hearts dropped when seeing this. Thankfully, help arrives. Upon seeing the accident that had just occurred, Good Samaritans also on the road slowed down, or stopped their vehicles to offer assistance. The motorcyclists had slowed down to help a brother in need. The one closest to the fallen rider was also seen trying to lift the heavy motorcycle off of him. Divided opinions. There was an outpour of differing opinions online. Some commentators deduced that the cars were ultimately at fault. Some shared the same sentiment, but with a slightly different take: But it was agreed that the sudden lane change far left had caused the crashes. Yes, we think so too. There were also some less-than-helpful comments, bordering on nasty: Including this Come on man. Was not the biker's fault that he got into an accident. Not cool. Hasty driving has consequences. It is hard to pinpoint and assign fault exactly, but we can say that the abrupt lane change definitely was the direct cause of the motorcyclist collision happening. It is depressing and unfortunate to see the spate of motorcycle accidents as of late, especially the recent Simei lorry incident that sadly claimed the life of another motorcyclist (Rest in peace). Reckless lane change by Nissan NV350, almost results in serious collision!

TLDR; Nissan driver engages in reckless lane change that could have led to a severe collision. Watch the video for yourself below Black Nissan NV350 was caught on camera recklessly lane changing at Exit 15 to Yio Chu Kang Road on CTE towards SLE, cutting it extremely close to the camcar and potentially resulting in a collision. The camcar then had to swerve and brake in order to avoid colliding with the Nissan. It almost seems like the Nissan vehicle did not check his blindspot and the lane before recklessly changing into a lane that was already occupied. This seems like extremely irresponsible behavior that could have resulted in massive damage if a collision had occurred. According to Traffic Police, reckless or dangerous driving could potentially warrant you liable to an imprisonment period of up to 12 months as well as a fine of up to $5000 or both. This is so as to promote road safety as well as to discourage reckless driving on roads. Whooping 9 bus-truck-lorry chain collision spotted along the AYE

Camera footage has caught the scene of an insane 9 vehicle collision along the AYE. Consisting of SBS buses, lorries and trucks, all heavy vehicles. Watch the video for yourself below 292803191_725505348710288_827111803812174092_n.mp4 Hmmm I wonder what caused the root of the accident, perhaps one of the heavy vehicles jammed their breaks and the rest did not have sufficient time to follow suit? But, that would mean that 9 vehicles were tailgating one another! An SCDF ambulance was also caught seen on the road, perhaps to try and rescue and potentially injured individuals. Either way, it almost seemed like the driver was not focused on the road at all. Hopefully, the Fiat Fiorino was not damaged too badly. Some suggest that the Chevrolet Cruze driver could have been using his mobile phone whilst driving and therefore was unable to focus on driving. It was just another day travelling on the road until the black car in the video turned on its left signal indicator. Moments after signalling, the car veers to the right and sideswipes against the concrete barrier to the right. When panic set in, the driver immediately swerved to the left without checking for traffic. As a result, the black car unintentionally performs a pit manoeuvre on a passing Toyota Harrier. The SUV immediately lost control and collided head-first into the same concrete barrier that the black car sideswiped earlier. Meanwhile, the black car crashed head-first into the concrete barrier similar to the Harrier. According to the user that submitted the video, the blunder caused by his friend was due to vehicles that passed by him too closely. Hmmm...seems like a convenient excuse, doesn't it? And even if it is, isn't his friend's reaction a tad too slow? As the local saying goes, "if you can't swim, don't say your swimming trunks are too big". I don't even know which is worse - the fact that the cyclist caused the collision or that he didn't check on the rider after the crash. In a video posted on Facebook just yesterday (29 March), an accident along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 shocks several netizens. In the video, the cam car driver merges towards the middle lane in the darkness of the morning hours. Despite it being a little after 6 in the morning, the dark roads were illuminated by streetlights and the cam car's headlights. Just up ahead, a cyclist on the outermost lane notices the cam car's presence and starts switching lanes. With his bicycle dancing between lanes, it became clear that the cyclist had recklessly switched lanes without checking. At this moment, a motorcycle travelling in the same lane came into view. Due to the cyclist's sudden lane change, the rider did not have enough time to react accordingly, resulting in a rather nasty collision. The impact threw the cyclist off his bicycle while the heavy motorcycle flew across the road. With his path blocked, the cam car slows down and stops beside the cyclist, who immediately stands up with his helmet and bag still intact and attached to his body. After dusting himself off, he gingerly walks to his mauled ride. While attempting to pick it up, the cyclist blocks the path of an oncoming white van. On the other hand, after being thrown off his own vehicle, the rider sits up as he surveys his surroundings. While it is not clear if there were any serious injuries, the rider remains seated for the rest of the video. Netizens' reactions The video shocked many netizens, most of whom could not believe that the cyclist did not check on the potentially injured rider after causing the reckless accident. Yes, there is a difference between making a little mistake and causing an accident that might kill you and others. Note: This comment was in response to the post's description, which reads "Careless cyclist did not check clear, filtered towards first lane and got hit by motorcyclist. Accident happened at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 (Beside Gain City) at 0640H on 29 Mar 2022. Speedy recovery to both parties.". Even if the cyclist was in a state of shock, it is just disappointing to see this behaviour from him. Where did all of his compassion and empathy go? Although I don't subscribe to the feud between drivers and cyclists, I have to admit that this incident reflects the inadequacy of cyclists to ride safely on the road. Does this mean that this driver can’t drive through noisy areas? In a video published on 28th Feb, a Hyundai driver with his head in the clouds attempted to change lanes on the expressway. The cam driver, situated at Lane 1, was cruising along the road when she noticed the blue vehicle’s actions. Wanting to alert the Hyundai driver of her presence, she sounded her horn. This spooked the unalert driver, who sharply swerved to avoid a collision. His reaction reminds me of a chinchilla, a species that is easily spooked by anything and everything. However, as the driver had oversteered, this caused him to lose control of his car. The blue vehicle then hit the front of the cam car as it quickly slid towards the expressway barrier. This led to the Hyundai driver quickly shifting gears and reversing to avoid a second collision. The Hyundai’s sudden stunt scared other drivers on the rest of the lanes, all of whom narrowly avoided getting hit. As the blue Hyundai manages to stop his vehicle in the middle of the first and second lanes, the cam driver could be heard wailing loudly after being hit. Netizens’ reactions I agree that there should be a balance. While the Hyundai driver should have been more alert, the cam driver should have been prepared to anticipate a potential collision and acted accordingly. There is no way an alert driver would make a mistake like this (although that second swerve to avoid the barrier was pretty cool). Jaywalking is never a good idea. And what's worse is when one attempts to jaywalk at a busy industrial area in the presence of heavy vehicles. Watch it here: What Happened? The accident occurred at Sungei Kadut Avenue, where a man attempted to jaywalk a busy industrial road. He stopped in the middle of the road as heavy vehicles drove past him. Just then, the cam car, together with a motorcycle that was riding ahead of him, approached the bend right before the jaywalker. Due to heavy vehicles around and the bend, the jaywalker was in a very obscure position. Despite applying his brakes, the motorcycle failed to stop in time. And as a result, he rammed right into the jaywalker, which sent him flying in mid-air. The jaywalker fell hard onto the ground and lay there motionless throughout the video. Passersby quickly rushed to the scene to check on both parties. Netizens' Comments Indeed. Only drivers/riders know this. Such knowledge and awareness would not necessarily occur to pedestrians. As usual. When an individual jaywalks, it is almost a no-brainer to check for oncoming traffic and blind spots before crossing the road. Unfortunately, this jaywalker had to learn to check for oncoming traffic and her blind spots the hard way: What Happened? This accident occurred on 20th February 2022, along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 after the SPC petrol station. The cam car was travelling along lane 3 at a relatively slow speed. Out of the blue, a woman dashes out from in-between two cars along lane 2. It was apparent that the woman did not bother checking her blind spot and simply assumed that there was no oncoming car. The cam car driver, who was unable to react in time, ended up colliding into the jaywalking woman with a substantial amount of force that sent her flying in mid-air for a good second or so. NGL, I am certain that F1 drivers cannot react in time if they were in the above situation. After landing on her back, the lady instantly got up to her feet. She then walked towards the roadside and sat on the grass while a passerby, the cam car driver and his passenger attended to her. This was a fortunate outcome for the jaywalking lady, considering she emerged from this accident without much hurt. Hopefully, this experience proves to be a valuable lesson to her. Cyclist or pedestrian, just respect the traffic light

Now, I won't say that I am the biggest follower of traffic laws when I am cycling. Far from it, in fact. Yes, I know that as a cyclist, I also have to obey the traffic laws as laid out by the Traffic Police, but I have ran so many red lights while cycling that if it were reflected on my real driving licence, I would have exceeded the allotted 24 demerit points by.... Let's just say, by a lot. But I digress. Laws, rules and regulations are there for a reason. One of them being primarily to keep us safe. Or alive. Or both. Feel free to apply it as per necessary. But unfortunately for the star of today's post, this uncle either didn't get the memo or he just chose to tear it up completely, because he went against one of the most basic everyday rules. Based on the information in the video, the accident seems to have taken place in Sengkang. Now, I am not saying that I don't do this, and I'm pretty sure most, if not everyone reading this post has done what the uncle has done too, which is crossing the traffic junction when the red man is still on. Usually it is fine, you get to the other side without issue. But there are days when your luck just runs out and the results are... Less than pleasant. In all fairness, I can see why the uncle decided to go ahead and cross the road. Judging from the clip below, oncoming traffic seemed to be clear, with no vehicles in the immediate vicinity of the camera frame. However, my guess is that he may have missed the oncoming motorcycle due to its smaller size and just decided to cross the road. Perhaps the motorcyclist didn't expect someone to suddenly cross the road and may not have enough time to react once he/she realised what was going on, which ultimately resulted in said collision. However, it is also heartening to note that, fellow pedestrians at the junction immediately ran forward to help both injured parties after the momentary shock of having an accident happen right in front of their eyes. Judging from the style and colour of their outfits, two of the pedestrians could also be nurses/healthcare professionals, and if that should be the case, it is indeed fortunate that these nurses/healthcare professionals were at the right place at the right time to help people in need, despite the unfortunate circumstances of the accident. Perhaps, people, just a thought, listen to the rules, or just observe them. Or maybe just take a little while longer to set off from a traffic junction or when you're at a standstill. It could end up saving your life, or your wallet, or both. I mean, I should know. The last time I decided to rush for something, it ended up making a significant dent in my wallet 🙃. But that's another story for another day. Stay safe, people. Life isn't all about rushing from one place to another. Sometimes it could actually be beneficial to take your time, have a breather and smell the roses. -
We wonder if these group of cyclists are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing when they ride in such a large group.. Posted by the people from SG Road Vigilante on 7th of Aug 2020 is a video of a large group of cyclist riding together seriously before a crash causes a chain collision of bicycles. Some of us might find the accident funny while some would be shocked at how dangerous riding on the road could be. We just hope that everyone recovers well from their fall. Of course, such a post will put netizens into a commenting frenzy where everyone will be slamming the cyclists for road-hogging and riding in a group of more than five. This is not the way to make friends with a fellow VW owner

For most owners who are into cars, they will tend to want to meet owners who own the same car/model as themselves. Hence from time to time, we will see many brand/model-based car clubs gather at places like the indoor stadium to chat and get to know more about their cars. However, we are kind of sure these Volkswagen drivers in the video below won't be friends anytime soon... Uploaded on ROADS.sg, we can see a Volkswagen Golf coming from the opposite direction before colliding straight on with the camera car (a Volkswagen Jetta). The accident happened on the morning of 22nd of April at the PIE interchange between Jurong Town Hall Road and Bukit Batok Road. There were no reports as of press time of what caused the Golf owner to drive into the opposite lane. We hope he did not faint or suffer a heart attack, causing him to lose control of his car. We did noticed the Scirocco (yes, another Volkswagen) moving away from danger as the Golf came closer. Good reflexes dude. Maybe if they stayed at home, such things won't have happened... videoplayback.mp4 -
