  2. Hi people.. I'll be collecting my new car real soon... but I'm bothered with one thing.. People say car shampoo will "bite" the paintwork of the car and having a protective layer of wax around the car would prevent that.. so I'm thinking if I should rinse(with tap water) and apply wax on my car immediately after I get my car ... before I actually wash it with car shampoo maybe a week later? any comments? what detailing work do you guys do when you all get your cars?

  7. SKODA, the Czech marque owned by Volkswagen, will introduce its Superb flagship in the third quarter. The size of a Volkswagen Passat - and looking almost like one - the Superb marks Skoda's return to the big-car segment after over 50 years. Three petrol engine choices are available - two-litre, 1.8-litre turbo, and a 2.8-litre V6 - although the lineup and the prices have not been confirmed. http://motoring.asia1.com.sg/news/news20040522_001.html Stay tuned for more news.

  11. Hi, Recently installed a new power amp and component front speakers while the HU driving the back component speakers at AutoBac. The sound system is fitted with high quality shielded RCA from HU to power amp. Not sure about the cable from CD Changer to HU. I realised that the new setup is very sensitive to handphone interference. At times the static noise from the handphone reception could be heard from the front component speakers even when the sound system is turned off!! Occasionally, not sure if i notice correctly, i could heard the high pitch sound of the engine when the car accelerates...BEfore the upgrade i did not hear any of such noises. Anyone has similar experience? How to remove this? Will installing HVS helps to clean up the noises in the electrical system?

  16. Quote from AutoExpress:- C-MAX Launched At Last It's not only Vauxhall that will be pulling the wraps off an important newcomer at the Geneva Motor Show. Arch-rival Ford has two major launches in the offing in a bid to steal its thunder. The more anticipated model is the C-MAX, which will take on the new Renault Scenic. The Focus-based MPV has been promised since the hatchback debuted in 1998, but has only now appeared. Ford's original design was canned in 1999 as the blue oval felt it wouldn't be competitive against the likes of the ingenious Vauxhall Zafira. A prototype C-MAX was displayed at the Paris Motor Show in September, but this is the first time the production model has been seen in the metal. Under the skin, it uses the platform of the next Focus, so it looks certain to have fine handling and an excellent ride. The front styling also points the way to the Focus, with a trapezoidal grille and Mondeo-type headlamps. Yet even though it took an extra four years to develop, the newcomer will only be a five-seater. Ford explained: "The five-seat arrangement better suits the requirements of our customers, as few of them need to transport seven people. We did not want to compromise stylish design or car-like driving characteristics." Despite having only five seats, though, the C-MAX promises to be practical. Ford boasts that the newcomer has class-leading headroom and lots of cubbyholes, including compartments under the floor and a 10.5-litre glovebox (to keep extra MCF t-shirts mah ). The rear seat will be split into three pieces so that if only two passengers are travelling in the back, the middle section can be slid back into the luggage compartment and the outer seats moved closer together, allowing more elbow and shoulder room. There are developments under the bonnet, too, with the introduction of an all-new 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine. The unit, co-developed with PSA Peugeot-Citroen, produces 108bhp and will be coupled to a six-speed manual box. A 133bhp version of the 2.0 TDCi will also appear, giving the car a sub-10-second 0-60mph time. The 1.4-litre TDCi will also be offered, along with 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8-litre petrol units. Prices are expected to start from about
  17. Does anyone know when the new facelifted version is coming in? is it purely cosmetic? I read abt Ford unveiling the new 5 speed Durashift tiptronic but I not sure whether Singapore cars will get it?
  18. ....esp for Harmann and anyone else seriously considering the likes of the Honda Stream and other versatile mini-MPV's, the 307SW, which should make its local debut at the upcoming Motor Show at Suntec City. Anyone's interest stirred yet ?
  19. Latest T4 coming???? Wow! Must go see see touch touch liao!
  20. Hi all, I noticed that there is a sponge-like thing in between the front doors of the focus (near the hinges area). It appears that the glue is already coming off from mine, and the sponge seems to be falling off. Any focus owners has the same problem and what is the function of the sponge anyway???
  21. Noticed the steering wheel vibrates when i apply on the brakes to come to a stop. It normally happens at the point when the car is coming to stop. Can this be due to warped brake discs or the wobbling of the wheels? Or uneven wear of the brake pads? Thanks.
  22. From VolvoSpy.com Name: Volvo S80 facelift Planned for: 2003 Explanation: The production of the facelifted S80 will start in week 10 of 2003. These are changes that are verified: Changed rear lights. Slightly smaller with a thin chrome egde on the bottom of the light. The white part of the light (blinker and rear light) will now be a square box mid height of the lamp (not in the middle but towards middle of the car, i.e. left light has white box on the right side mid height). Inside: Thin chrome ring around gauges (like XC90). Thin needles and small lines between current speed markings (S70 style which gives the impression of better precision and thinner needle gives the impression of quicker acceleration). Rumours: Engine: 5 cyls, compact I6 cyls and a V8 (Yamaha built found on Taurus SHO) Seems like they tried moving the side blinkers to the rear mirror, like Mercedes has. The car will be presented in November of this year, but as there are no big car shows, we guess Volvo will release pictures like they did with the XC90 and show the facelifted S80 for the first time in Detroit.
