  1. Why is it so? It was just a mentioning of how EZ-STAB doesn't work for some people I know. Is Ez-Stab an endangered, protected entity on this forum? (It apparently is) Maybe this post will be gone too. If information censorship is JUST for the income interests of the forum, this is distasteful, discourages genuine posting/technical discussions and drives away knowledgeable users who really want to help. This has been quite disappointing and I realized that I probably can't depend on the integrity and soundness of the views projected in this site. I can come here for my daily gossips and have a good time, but the car talk can't be trusted, what is the point? What is worse is that the negative posts are selectively removed and leaving behind all the raves on "It somewhat works, smoother, worth the money! But I can't quantify the difference." In this situation, an appropriate actions can be 1. delete the entire thread 2. lock the thread so that everything stays. 3. textual information removed by moderator, leaving the post there, but stating a reason why it is censored.
  2. Went to Toyota showroom last week and saw the new fortuner 2.7. the price is low for a 2.7 litre car. have any comments on this car?

  5. Hi guys/gals, Does anyone know of this Shell station tyre shop in Tampines Ave 2 (opp Holy Trinity Church)? What are your comments of their services and charges?
  6. Hi guys, Weather was extremely good today and I finally had the chance to test the following products, 1) FS Pure Acrylic Crystaline High Gloss Sealant More info @ http://www.chemicalguys.com/Car_Wax_and_Ca...s_p/wac_115.htm 2) gel-EXTENDED LIFE NEW LOOK TRIM & TIRE GEL More info @ http://www.chemicalguys.com/Trim_Shine_p/tvd_108_16.htm As the paint condition was still good, I skipped polishing after claying. From past experiences, SmartWax contains cleaners which are able to remove slight blemishes and prep the surface nicely, below were the steps taken: 1) Wash with NXT shampoo 2) Clay and dry 3) Wipe down with QD 3) SmartWax with polishing pad on DA @ speed 5 4) Chemical Guys FS Pure Acrylic Crystaline High Gloss Sealant with MF application using hand 5) Chemical Guys gel-EXTENDED LIFE NEW LOOK TRIM & TIRE GEL on exterior trim and tyres with foam applicator Chemical Guys FS Pure Acrylic Crystaline High Gloss Sealant This product has a green appearance coupled with a pleasant mint scent, it came in a nice handy squeeze bottle to prevent spillage. The MF applicator was first misted with QD and application was a breeze, the product spreads relatively easy and dries with a nice clear haze. The product was then left to cure for an hour before buffing, removing this sealant is almost effortless and I'm able to move from panel to panel in double quick time. There is no dusting or streaking, even when thick coats are applied, I also purposely applied onto the window trim and experienced no staining. This sealant leaves behind a nice wet slick surface with decent depth which is more to that of a carnauba, will update on its durability as time passes, it will be a real test as the car is parked outdoors and exposed to the elements 24/7. gel-EXTENDED LIFE NEW LOOK TRIM & TIRE GEL This product is a clear gel with no scent, viscosity is slightly thick and it came in a pump bottle for easy application. Application is pretty straight forward with a foam applicator, cleaning power is pretty decent as it managed to remove white stains caused by Meguiar's gold class trim detailer. Although vicious, its easy to apply and spread, a little goes a long way and coupled with a fast buffing action will result in rich wet looking trim. There is no mess and what I particularly liked was that its dry once cured. It transforms weathered and stained trim into a rich glossy finish. Lastly, its easy to remove and does not streak when it contacts glass or paint. Will also update on its durability as time passes by. Meg's trim detailer was a disaster for me, pics @ http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Aftermarke...hower_P1718555/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. A couple of days back happened to be a ubi area so went to test drive the new caren. Below are my comments although while reading this thread you will need to consider that this is the 1st 2L car i test drive so far. Looks ------- Sporty and slightly stylish. I'm actually not a fan of korean cars as i have visited their showrooms a couple of time to look at their cars but this new carean really have a veri sporty look. If u get it in carbon fiber black wah... drooling lao. Good news for those who are considering. The $500 extra u need to pay for the full leather and sports rim are actually wave off if u purchase the car now. *haha i sound like a saleman* Also for those bros/sis who like white, there are no extra charges involve. cool. The rear end of the car looks abit weird tho although if u have seen the concept drawings it is another drool factor. Car body ---------- The feeling when i open the driver door *i didnt test the other doors* is heavy as well as the bonnet *veri heavy*. i firmly believe that women and the elderly will have prob lifting the bonnet. The centre seats also needs some muscle if u need to collapse the seats to store bulky items. No problem with the rear seats tho. Interior ------------ Plus point is its quite spacious throughout the car, nice head clearance, got many compartments and full leather. The dashboard looks great, not like the old korean cars in fact u might be mistaken that u r actually sitting on an honda suv. Cool MP3 player with bluetooth function is also a plus point but thats juz some toys they thrown in. There are some cons tho, if u r a tall person or like to sit quite far from ur steering wheel then u might have some difficulty adjusting the seats to ur liking *i'm 1.7 and i like to sit far away while i drive*. Wheels --------- Promotions comes with 16in sports avanta rims but what i like abt the wheels is that it has rear disk brakes. *hey i'm sua kooo and i'm safety consious person* Test drive ------------- Finally the best part kekeke, engine start, pull footbrake yeb footbrake and starts to drive off. My initial feeling is like wow, i'm like a kid driving a lorry, prob maybe it was my 1st time driving another vehicle other then my own humble honda city. The car gave me my 1st surprise after i start to press on the gas padel. I expect a veri low torque feeling eg. press onli must wait for awhile before the car moves off but it was opp to my expection. The car was veri torquie. i'm impress with the initial move off. Nice. The surprise doesnt stop there, there are some more good and bad points i would like to bring out Also. Another good point of the car is that it is surprisingly mavurable! Cutting corners is ez and responsive. There is 1 time i 4got that i'm driving a caren but my own car and i made a sharp right turn. The car move surprisingly well although the sale guy was abit unhappy abt that The suspension was abit hard for those who are used to the soft type but for those who like it hard but yet slightly gentle this ride has it. My car uses tein suspension so it is slightly less bumpy then what i used to but i can still feel some bumps if u r crossing those bumpy roads. 1 bad point while testing this car tho. When i tried to floor the pedal, with onli two full grown men in the car, the car was unable to pick up speed which i expect it to do with such initial high torque. Its quite sluggish although i feel that with some fine tuning to the ECU i believe this car can do better. Please dont quote me on my last comment tho. FC ---- Not sure on paper is how much but the agent roughly round it up to 10Km/L depending on individual. Summary ---------- Nice car. I think Kia have outdone itself this time really and change some of my persepctive on korean make cars that many are negatively saying. 2L for SGD 63,999 b4 rebate is quite attractive. After rebate will be around 60k.

  10. Hi all, The new Kia Magentis 2.0 has been around for like 6 months now...would like comments on how it compares against the Hyundai Sonata 2.0 as the Magentis price now seems very attractive. Is the Sonata worth the 8k premium over the Magentis? Thanks

  13. Hi all, Was wondering if anyone has comments on the below mentioned installers? Was thinking of installing my amps, rear speakers and hu with them, but would like more unbias feedback regarding their workmanship and after sales. 1) hollywood sound lab (at bt timah) 2) JK audio (chua chu kang) 3) Chuan Sin (serangoon) 4) Autotrend (toa payoh) 5) Audioedge (Jurong) Price wise, I enquired. For installation of front components, rear 6x9, 2x2 channel amps and HU. They will supply the front 1 din slot, fuse and power cable and speaker cables. RCA use my own. all in all, about 180 - 220. Reasonable? This price was quoted amongst the listed companies. But what I am afraid is bad workmanship. Install, got aeroplane sound and leave you there to sort it out yourself. appreciate your help.

  19. Hi there. I'm contemplating on a set of white rims for my car but am worried on extra amount of work needed to keep them clean. I have previously owned a white car before and keeping it decent, was washing car twice a week. After a rain session, it is compulsory to wash it if not, I'd be driving a grey car. Is maintaining a set of white colored rims the same or is the paint a little bit more special, making cleaning them easier?
  20. Anyone used this before, can share some feedback ? http://www.blackanddecker.com/ProductGuide...?ProductID=5469

  23. thinking of getting this bazooka (tube) subwoofer 6". looks slick but performance ? any comments ? decent bass or avoid it at all ? i just need a decent ICE for my small 1.5 ride. changing HU to Sony 7700 inorder to retain the boot sony 10CD changer. getting a tweeter and retaining all 4 stock speakers. planning to add an amp (Pioneer 6000) to touch up the sound. budget around $1.2K any comments on this setup is certainly most helpful thk u rgds
  24. Guys, as above. Was looking at the Legacy GT but not willing to suffer big depreciation as 1st owner like my current car. For its current price of 108k, another 1-2 years' time, it'd probably be 7-80++k (assuming 20k/yr dep)? Its a bit more reasonable to buy at that range. I've never purchased/owned a turbo car before, anyone has comments about buying 1-2yrs old turbo car? (whether like NO-NO cos prev owner mostly it etc) Should I be better off with a new one? or Is it like any other NA car in terms of 2nd hand ownership? I've also test driven the 2.0R and its performance is so much better than the 2.0i.. at the price, would I be better off with the NA instead (a better compromise)? Anyone with a 2.0R who has somewhat regretted not getting the GT? Thanks a mil
  25. Hi brudders! How are the original 14" Aveo sports rims? I've just been offered $180 for a set of secondhand rims... Am considering whether to take up the offer or not... And what tyres go well with it? I am still on the original 13" steel rims. Thanks!
