  1. When I first heard about Toyota planning to release the successor to the Supra, I was a little skeptical. Rewind back to 2008, when the global economic was gripped with a financial crisis; many automakers were in debt, planned models were put on hold or totally scrapped and some automakers decided to retire certain models and focus on more popular, sellable ones. But it seems that everything is going well with Toyota, judging from the rendered images of the new Toyota Supra. Even though it is still in conceptual form, every JDM fan (including me) wants to see it in production. Toyota recently announced that a new Toyota Supra is in the making. A production version is even being speculated for market entry in 2014. Toyota is keeping plans under very tight wraps for the moment though, so we

  3. The Kia GT concept was one of the highlights at the Frankfurt Motor Show and a new report is indicating it is headed for production. Speaking with AutoCar, Kia's European CEO Paul Philpott explained "The first step is to have the kind of mainstream cars that can compete with the likes of Ford and Citro

  5. [extract] Audi is breaking new ground with its urban concept technology study, a 1+1 vehicle for city driving. The electric-powered show car has four wheels, but does not fit into any current automobile category. Weighing just 480 kilograms, the Audi urban concept combines elements of a racecar, a roadster, a fun car and a city car into a radical new concept. It has the potential to set the trend for a new form of mobility. The question "How much car is necessary to deliver driving pleasure and urban mobility in an entirely new way?" was the starting point for the Audi urban concept. A model of a glider was kept in the studio during the development process as an example of lightweight construction, efficiency and reduction

  8. Do you Agree to the concept of priority based on road tax value. That means if you pay 5k road tax you have more rights or priority to road use compared to a measly 500 dollar road tax payer. I mean 500 dollars financially do little in contributing to roads etc.
  9. Anyone seen the news on the fabia vRS 2000 concept car recently unveilled??? Really a looker. Check out new car.net website http://www.newcarnet.co.uk/Skoda_news.html...hlightws=Skoda#

  11. BMW M5 Concept in Singapore BMW has shipped over their coveted M5 Concept over to Munich Auto in Singapore for a showcase over the weekend. And this evening, select members of the press were privy for an early preview of what is essentially the soon-to-be-released F10 M5. Although many have already seen photos of the car during it's unveiling at the Shanghai auto show, this is the first public showing of BMW Motorsports latest crowning achievement. As expected, the car was under wraps but they soon peeled off the covers to reveal the M5 Concept wearing big black wheels and sporting some mean gangsta tints. Neither of which i think will come stock standard on the production car. Lovely side profile Some notable ///M Details. Side vents, big wheels, big brakes and big intakes. The M5 Concept also sported a nice perky rear end too, with sweet-ass quad pipes peeping out the rear. I figured since i at the M-car showroom, i shuffled around to take pictures of other niceties sitting around. An M3 GTS at the back, with 2 already delivered and prowling down Orchard Road soon. Finishing off, a 1-M Coupe and an M3 sitting in their clean as workshop.

  15. Mitsubishi unveils concept global small car at Geneva Motor Show 2011. This is the 3rd Eco Car to be built in Thailand under Thailand Eco Car Project. The first two are Nissan March K13 and Honda Brio. The production of Mitsubishi global small car will start early 2012 at Mitsubishi's 3rd production facility in Thailand Credit: http://www.autospinn.com/2011/03/mitsubish...B8%A3%E0%B9%8C/ http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2011/03...tter-b-car.html
  16. Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, Honda Jazz - Take a close look at the Chevrolet Aveo RS concept. It has caught my attention and you had better pay attention too! Starting with the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, Chevy is out to change the Aveo's cheap and boring image into a product that we might actually desire. The process begins with the Aveo RS concept, which provides a preview of what to expect from the next-generation production Aveo when it arrives in showrooms sometime next year. The Aveo RS has much more attractive proportions with a wider stance and longer profile that make it look much more aggressive than the current model. It also adopts some of the smaller Spark's styling cues. Inside, the Aveo RS has similarities to the smaller Spark and other larger Chevrolet's like the new Cruze and Equinox. Like the Spark, its instrument pod consists of a round speedometer with a rectangular digital display to the right sitting on top of the steering column. Since this RS version is meant to be a hot hatch, GM has equipped it with suitable seats to hold the driver in place during aggressive maneuvers. On the show car, the seats are finished in actual leather with stitching that matches the blue exterior. Power in the RS comes from the turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder producing 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque that will also do service in the larger Cruze. The torque gets sent to those over sized 19-inch wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. I believe that the production model will come with an automatic option. The Ford Fiesta is rumoured to be equipped with the 1.6L EcoBoost engine in the foreseeable future, and the VW's Polo will be powered by a 1.2L TSI unit soon. Let's hope we can see a 'triple threat match' among these 3 hot hatches in the near future!
  17. After the initial Concept, Toyota is set to show the updated Concept II at the 2011 Geneva motorshow. This is BESTCAR's rendering. Looks great to me... hope they keep the price low-ish/affordable-ish http://jp-cardesigncorner.blogspot.com/201...eaks-cover.html
  18. After months of speculation, Ferrari has officially unveiled the new Four concept ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Essentially a preview of the 612 Scaglietti replacement, the FF features a bold Pininfarina design that mixes elements from the 458 Italia, California, and 599 GTB Fiorano. Most notably, the car is a shooting brake which affords 450 liters (15.9 cubic feet) of cargo capacity with the rear seats up and 800 liters (28.3 cubic feet) with the rear seats down. Underpinned by an all-new chassis, the Four has an independent suspension with magnetically adjustable dampers and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. More importantly, the car is equipped, for the first time ever in a Ferrari, with an advanced Ruote Motrici (4RM) four-wheel drive system that is heavily rear-biased and "delivers record levels of performance on all terrains and in all conditions via continuous and intelligent predictive torque distribution to all four wheels." Under the hood, power is provided by a 6.3-liter (6,262 cc) V12 engine with 660 PS (485 kW / 651 hp) and 683 Nm (504 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a double-clutch transmission which enables the 1790 kg (3946 lb) concept to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed 335 km/h (208 mph). Furthermore, the FF has a combined fuel consumption of 15.4 L/100 km (15.3 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 360 g/km. Source: Ferrari

  21. The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS 2011) that is to be held at Detroit early 2011 will be where BMW Mini launches its new Mini Paceman coupe concept. This 'maxi' Mini, is based on the Mini Countryman, a crossover SUV that looks like a Mini, but is really not very Mini in size (in reality closer in size and type to the Nissan Qashqai). Nowadays the lines between a coupe and an SUV must be so blurred that you can actually design a coupe from an SUV. These are indeed troubling times we live in. Anyway, the Countryman coupe or Paceman is a showcase that should appeal to the

  24. Jaguar has lifted the lid on the new Jaguar C-X75 concept supercar. The concept could become Jaguar's first mega performance vehicle since the cancellation of the XJ220 in 1994. When Jaguar introduces the supercar at the Paris Motorshow, they will drop a bombshell. The car will race to 300 km/h n 15.7 seconds, over a second faster than the Bugatti Veyron. However, where the Veyron continues on to 407 km/h, the C-X75 tops out at 330 km/h. The concept uses four 195-horsepower electric motors to launch the car from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and to 161 km/h in 5.5 seconds. However, this is not an all-electric model. The car uses two small turbine engines capable of running on compressed natural gas, diesel, biofuel and LPG. The turbines make the car an extended range hybrid, and provide the car with the capability to travel further than its 68-mile battery-only distance. The car can actually travel an impressive 560 miles without stopping. This is thanks to lithium-ion batteries, and turbines which can allegedly spin up to 80,000 rpm. These UK-sourced turbines have never been used on a car before, according to the automaker. More information regarding the 4.6-meter long, 1350-kilogram Jaguar C-X75 concept will be available when it debuts in Paris.
