  1. Do you guys find any value in using their services? On the occasions I was selling my car, I got a lot of "spam" SMS from them offering to sell on consignment for me.
  2. Hi all need to ask for opinion here. i sold off my car thru a consignment agent last month. Did the transfer of ownership on 28-Jan and was told I will get the rest of payment for my car in about 10 days time. 10 days passed money never come in. Tell me will transfer by 15-Feb cos CNY blah, blah, blah. 15-Feb passed again CNY , COVID blah blah blah.. I am getting a bit worry. I have buy and sell cars before but all thru AD. First time selling thru a consignment agent. Is it normal to take this long for the fund to be release? in case I don’t get my money back any channel I can pursuit to get back my money? TIA for the feedback and comments
  3. Hello Guys , have anyone of you sell the car thru consignment basis ? I got this deal , buyer interested to buy my car.. but the middleman ( car today ) claims that I will need to do a transfer first name to new owner first , then i get paid 1-2days after the car name transfer.. in all my car buying and selling , even buyer with loan , all full payment is done immediately after transfer name is done ? I found it very fishy.. anyone any enlightment me ?? 1) what is name transfer and this middleman dod not transfer ? 2) they charge super high % commission up to 5% if u want the payment done on the before transfer ! Maybe it their tactics to get instant commission rather from loan and insurance ? 3) there is no confirmation letter or agreement that fund is transfer own witheld by them ( middleman ) ... any member car to share.. Is this a scam ?
  4. With the assumption that consignment sales is transaction between buyer and direct owner, with dealer handling paperwork at a cost, that makes it equivalent to buying directly from owner which will comes without after sales warranty?
  5. Hi forumers, I would like to have some recommendation for car dealers who do a consignment for my car which I intend to sell. Appreciate for your kind recommendation. Open to dealers for discussion as well. Thanks
  6. Hi! I'm shopping around for a pre-owned car to replace my wife's current aging ride. I came across a few dealers who posted on sgcarmart claiming that the cars they are advertising are on consignment. I'm curious: 1) How do I know that the car is really on consignment? Or could it be a "consignment car" is easier for them to sell at higher profit since it lowers the buyer's guard against 2nd hand car dealers and reduce the tendency to bargain too aggressively. 2) If it is really a consignment car, do I need to pay admin fee to the dealer on my side? I was quoted a $700 fee if taking a loan with them and $1000 if paying full cash. Is this the usual for consignment? 3) Is the consignment dealer taking money from both sides ie.buyer and seller all pay a fee to him? I thought usually the seller already need to pay roughly 1% of the sales as commission for the consignment deal. 4) Can I get the seller to absorb these "admin fees" since I want to use my own financier who can handle all paperwork without additional cost to me. Thanks in advance!
