  3. After my doing research at my school lab was walking to dover mrt station when i cross the road in the car park got this lecturer (I assume is a lecturer he looks quite old and well dressed) driving a bleach color Toyota Corolla (SDZ****)horned at me. He zoom passed me stop infront of me and tried to reverse and wind down his window i thought he was going to tell me that it's dangerous to cross the road without check or something. As my friends and i approach him he wind up his window, accelerate hard and made his corolla's wheels lost traction and sped off. This old man is lucky that he did not lost control of his car acting recklessly and behaving like a kid in a school compound.

  9. HELP! Can anyone recommend a good and reliable workshop where I can repair the fitting of the side skirt on my Corolla Altis? It looks like one of the clips has come off, and now the side skirt can be pulled off quite easily now! Preferably in the AMK, Toa Payoh, Central area.

  11. As good as getting a Toyota at rock bottom prices of below S$40K. The Geely CK actually uses the G7 Corolla engine. Even Geely's competitor, the Chery salesman confirmed this. 1. Geely CK 2. Toyota Corolla 3. Geely CK rear lamp 4. Corolla rear lamp Now... which is which? Confused?
  12. 2 days ago I was driving along CTE towards AMK AVe 3. I filtered to the middle lane as I was going to exit at Ave 3 abt 3km away. Suddenly I saw bright HID light from nowhere appeared behind me, an old COE car Corolla filtered to the first lane zooming with full engine screaming and turbo spunning away giving me a fright, followed by another zooming fury 3 dr COE car Civic hatchback, also with HID and turbo zooming like hell tailgating the corolla so very closely. And the next blink of an eye, they were gone. They must be spining beyond 150km/h. A few secs later, My wife shouted, 'hey something happened! accident!! accident!' I didn't see anything. But cars in front began to brake and I have to quickly swerve to the first lane. When I move up front, all I can see is that Corolla on the road shoulder, had crashed its back on the railings of the left most lane, facing almost perpendicular to the road. According to my wife, she saw the car trying to slide and the next thing he ended on the other side of the road. This guy must have tried to do 'gey kiang' do athe initial D power slide and lost control of his car! Luckily it did not cause any accidents with other car. Otherwise it would be real messy. [shakehead] I did not see the Civic until I exited to Ave 3, I saw the Civic also at the exit right next to me... Can see the plate clearly SBV6*8*. Its a yellow color car with blue decals over it. What they did was absolutely dangerous and both deserved to be

  14. Corolla enthusiasts happy laio, another option landed Singapore The Toyota Corolla Fielder is the latest generation Corolla hatchback. It is available in 1.5-litre and 1.8-litre engine variations (Singapore only 1.5-litre available) . Both comes with Super CVT-i (Super Continuously Variable Transmission-intelligent) transmission that provides outstanding cruising and environmental performance. The Corolla Fielder features the world's first one-touch double-folding rear seats with backrests that can be folded flat with a single flip of a lever located in the rear cargo space. Key components of the front and rear suspensions has also been optimally tuned to provide brisk maneuvering and cruising stability, as well as a comfortable ride. The Corolla Fielder has a fuel efficiency of 17.2km/l. An Eco Drive Indicator lights up when the vehicle is being efficiently operated to raise the driver's awareness of environmentally considerate driving and contribute to higher fuel efficiency. Inside the cabin, the backseat floor hump has been minimized to create flat-surfaced legroom, enabling three adults to sit in the rear comfortably. The driver gets a steering wheel with a telescoping function that allows its position to be adjusted front to rear for a comfortable driving posture. To enhance visibility, the top surface of the instrument panel is low while the front pillars have been extended forward and made slimmer. 16. Komoco Motors has been very agressive in its marketing efforts recently, but the question is how long will it take for sales figures of the the Elantra to overtake the Corolla? Or will it ever become a reality?
  17. First of all, sorry for asking again. I am so fickle minded. I just got my license two months ago and decided to buy an second hand car to gain some driving experience. At first thought of civic esi then thought of the price too high and it is quite abused because of the infamous vtec engine. Then i thought of the nissan march but then since it is a hatchback, there is not much storage space. Then i discovered these two models. Can all the brothers out there give me some advice as which to choose? Thanks for any input.

  19. As seen in TODAY, 14 Oct issue, the new Toyota Corolla will come in 1.5l & 1.8l version, assembled in Thailand, and in CVT (no more 4 speed auto)! It will be sold in S'pore from early 2008. Just wondering how reliable the CVT is, since there's been lots of feedback about CVT being complicated and expensive to repair and replace!
  20. Just caught up with an old friend last night and he was telling me that he traded in his 2000 Corolla 1.6A 6 mths ago for only S$40K to Tan Chong Motors for a Latio. His Corolla was just before its 6th year and he enjoyed 120% PARF. Tan Chong Motors paid him only a pathetic S$1,000 for his Corolla's body, which I felt was on the very low side. Japan made Corolla body is always in demand worldwide. Buyers beware!

  23. I understand that the facelifted G9 Corolla (yr 2003 onwards, picture below) is assembled in THAILAND, and not Japan. http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2AQyaxjL-1095.html Is this true?
