    Mazda 6

[extract] Previewed by the Takeri concept that premiered at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, the production version of the next Mazda6 will be launched in 2013 as a saloon and a hatchback and later on as a station wagon. On top of that, according to British publication What Car?, the Japanese carmaker is preparing a four-seat coupe of its mid-size family car. Like the rest of the range, the Coupe will be built using the company
  2. I went to collect my car for some minor servicing (change PS fluid). Saw a nice black E30 Coupe on level 3. Wow!! ITs a really a rare gem!!
  3. The new Hyundai Elantra was only released worldwide less than one year ago. It is a good-looking mid-sized four-door sedan if you were to compare it with other Asian models from the same category. Sometime early this year, there have been reports that Hyundai will be releasing a coupe version of the current-generation Elantra. Hyundai dismissed those reports and denied any of it. But spy shots of an Elantra Coupe test car have surfaced in the World Wide Web. Somehow, it is rather confirmed that Hyundai is releasing a coupe version of the Elantra and judging from the pictures, we might see it real soon. The picture shows a heavily camouflaged car, most of the exterior is covered. It is clear that the car
  4. The first pictures of the 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe have leaked to the web ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show. While the front is identical to the facelifted sedan and estate, virtually everything aft of the A-pillar is unique to the coupe. Overall, the design is tastefully elegant as there's a kinked rear window and an upward sweeping shoulder line. Unfortunately, engineers were forced to install a traditional B-pillar which a bit of a bummer as the pillarless design is a hallmark of Mercedes coupes. Moving on to the interior, the redesigned cabin appears intact but the five-seat rear bench will undoubtedly be replaced by two individual seats. Engine options will likely carry over from the sedan, but the coupe will eventually be offered in Black Series guise with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 with up to 571 PS (420 kW / 563 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. 6. A lap with a Bmw 1M Coupe on the Nurburgring. The car was awesome and no problems whatsoever. BTG lap time was 8.15 with traffic and i also needed to back off throttle for an accident in the last part. Without traffic and the accident under 8 min BTG is possible. I am following a CSL. Which is a nurburgring track day car. CSL has a cage, big brakes, lightweight exhaust and race seats en runs on pilotsport cup tires. The 1M coupe was completely off factory. I was amazed how well this 1M coupe runs on the Nurburgring. Check here the video

  8. Now that Jaguar is safely housed under the umbrella of Tata Motors, the British marque is planning a major expansion of its current lineup. In addition to a rumored BMW 3 Series fighter, Jaguar is looking to take aim at the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class coupe with a stately two-door based off of the new-for-2011 XJ sedan. According to Automobile magazine, sources within Jaguar say that the XJ coupe will feature a pillarless greenhouse design, glass roof and will use separate sheetmetal from the sedan it's based on. Adrian Hallmark, brand manager for Jaguar in Europe, says that the two-door XJ will be "much more dynamic and emotional than a Mercedes CL." Hallmark also told Automobile that Jaguar is considering a whole slew of new models, including an XF wagon, high-end sports car based on the C-X75 concept, a crossover based on the Range Rover Evoque and even a possible shooting break version of either the next-generation XF or entry-level 3 Series competitor. 10. Hi all, Anyone know where to get the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe? Its this mini "car" for toddlers.... Went to most of the larger ToysRUS and was sold out, even the distributor ran out of stock and has to wait till end Nov .. zzzzz Are there any stores out there still have this in stock? Much appreciated! http://www.aprisin.com.sg/store/index.php?...;products_id=15
  11. Hi Everyone! My car buddy has a menstruating steering rack for his Rover 216 Coupe and needs it replaced...does anyone know of a 2nd stockist for this part? Might cost a bit, but the original stock would rip his trousers off, let alone his pocket!
  12. There has been a lot of advertisements in the Classified ads for this particular BMW coupe and the price is really ATTRACTIVE. Some of them are going as low as $138k with guaranteed COE. Does anyone have any experience with this particular model and do you think it's a good idea to get it from PI ? I know the 320 engine isn't really that good but 138-142k for a BMW coupe is really enticing.. haha

    Beefed up Mercedes CL

Less than a month after taking the wraps off the regular CL-Class facelift models, Mercedes-Benz went ahead and revealed the flagship versions of its luxury coupe, the CL63 and CL65 AMG models. Both cars will have their world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. On the outside, there are some subtle styling tweaks on both AMG models such as the redesigned front bumper with LED daytime running lights, a more pronounced "V"-shaped grille, larger headlamps and a reworked rear bumper with newly styled tail pipes. Interior revisions are limited to the new steering wheel, higher quality trim materials and different color options. The most important changes are hidden underneath the bonnet. Starting with the CL63 AMG, out goes the old naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 and in comes the smaller yet more powerful 5.5-liter V8 with twin-turbocharging and direct-injection technology, hooked up to an AMG Speedshift 7-speed automatic. It churns out 536HP at 5,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm, propelling the CL63 AMG from zero to 60mph in 4.4 seconds. Add the optional AMG performance package and the output climbs to 563HP and 664 lb-ft of torque, allowing the coupe to reach the 60mph mark in 4.3 seconds. Despite better performance, the new CL63 is more environmentally friendly than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the range-topping CL65 AMG continues to use a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission (unacceptable in my opinion). However, AMG engineers have tweaked the V12 unit which now produces an additional 17HP for a total output of 621HP. Torque remains the same at 738 lb-ft. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. It looks like the street performance of the CL65 is not much better than its lesser brethren.

  16. Electronic tuning specialist, Superchips, has released a new performance boosting ECU remap for BMW's lively 135i Coupe / Convertible. The Buckingham-based tuner said that as measured at its in-house four wheel drive chassis dyno', the electronic upgrade boosts the 3.0-litre six cylinder twin turbocharged engine's peak power from a tested standard output of 315bhp to 360bhp. According to the company, the ECU remap also enhances the 135i's torque output, which rises from a measured 394Nm (290.6 lb-ft) to 456Nm (336.3 lb-ft) at 3,359 rpm. The maximum gain of 70Nm (51.6 lb-ft) is achieved at just 3,267 rpm. Even though the chiped-out 135i hasn't been clocked, Superchips claims that it is expected to better the standard car's 5.3 second 0-60 mph sprint time and when driven on a like for like basis, the car owners will experience no fuel consumption penalty as compared with the standard car. The ECU remap, which is suitable for both manual and automatic transmission variants of the BMW 135i produced from 2007 onwards, is available both directly from Superchips and its UK dealer network, with pricing set at

  18. BMW is showing off their latest design study, the BMW Concept Gran Coupe, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China. The show will be open to the public through May 2. At 1.4-meters high, the car is 10-cm shorter in height than the 5er and 7er sedan. Current rumors suggest that the car is already approved for production and will be marketed as the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe to rival the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, a car which BMW does not directly compete against at this time. Here, the car's "vaulted bonnet" blends well with the wide kidney-shaped grille. The rounded rhombus-shaped headlights sit well above the bumper and create a sporty styling element. This is accentuated by the split bumper with large air intakes with black mesh grille. In back, the nearly five-meter long car has more conservative styling, with a somewhat short and squared bumper. The car has a wide LED third brake light mounted above the glass, which matches the LED rear light clusters. Quad tailpipes are set into the bumper as well. The German automaker's latest concept is meant as an ideological follow-up to the Concept CS 2007, with BMW using the Gran Coupe to set the tone for the future of four-door coupes. It has a longer wheelbase, which may be why it was debuted in China, and features design lines meant to draw your eyes to the front. If the car does get the green light, look for it to maintain certain characteristics. Specifically, the frameless windows and sporty styling at the front could very well make the cut, and show up on a production model. Also rumored is a shooting brake variant which is currently being evaluated. Look for the BMW Concept Gran Coupe to make its European debut in Paris this October.
  19. Mercedes Benz has made it official: the 2011 C-Class Coupe is on its way. The German luxury automaker has announced that it will build the two-door C-Class at its massive Bremen plant, which is already churning out the C-Class sedan, wagon, GLK, SL and SLK. Production for the C-Class Coupe is scheduled to begin in 2011. The C-Coupe Coupe will replace the CLC model and will likely be sold at about the same time as the facelifted C-Class four-door and five-door versions. The addition of the Coupe gives Mercedes Benz three different variants of the C-Class, with a convertible almost certainly to follow. With the introduction of the C Class Coupe, it will be interesting to see how the German automaker plans to differenttiate the new model with its bigger brother, the E-Class Coupe. The bi-door E-Class already utilizes the C-Class platform, and the more expensive E Coupe is almost identical in every dimension to the C-Class saloon. Mercedes may shorten the C-Class platform to better differentiate the C Coupe from the larger E Coupe. Anyway, it's a good bet that we'll know a lot of these answers by the time the Paris Motor Show opens its doors to the media in September 2009.
  20. Mercedes-Benz plans to begin production of a new, Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, with sales and assembly scheduled for a 2011 launch. A press release from the automaker marks the first time the car has been confirmed officially. The coupe will be manufactured in Bremen, Germany, next to the three other C-Class models, including the GLK SUV. All four models will be produced on the same flexible line at the facility, which is also responsible for the E-Class, SL and SLK. When the C-Class Coupe hits the market, it will serve as a replacement to the CLC, according to a Mercedes press release. It will likely be sold at about the same time as the facelifted C-Class four-door and five-door, and will most definitely not look like the CLC sketches we previously revealed. "We went back and studied what made our coupes so popular in the past," an unidentified source told Autocar. "If you look at some of the more successful two-door models Mercedes-Benz has produced, you can see a direct relationship between them and their four-door stablemates." The new coupe is expected to look more like the other C-Class models, and less like the cancelled CLK. The entire C-Class lineup will be due for its fourth generation introduction in 2014, meaning this version of the two-door will only be available for a few years. Because of this, the automaker is not expected to release a convertible version of this particular two-door. "We did look at an open-top version but in the end the costs were too high given the short model life," the source told Autocar.
  21. Mercedes-Benz is diligently trying to attract new, younger customers to its AMG performance line, and one giant step forward might be the introduction of a new small coupe, set to rival small performers such as the Volkswagen Golf R, BMW 1-Series, and so on. A report from Autocar states that this rumored new AMG coupe would be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four with direct injection, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This engine may produce as much as 300 horsepower, putting the AMG coupe right in line with the competitive set. Fuel-efficient technologies like brake energy regeneration, stop-start and a shift indicator lamp are likely to make their way into this new model, and all-wheel drive isn't out of the question, either.
  22. Finally after much anticipation, the new Mercedes SLK has revealed itself to the motoring world, and boy does it turn heads more than ever before. Set to be the Audi TT and the BMW Z4's rival, this new 'baby SL' is one heck of a killer convertible. It looks good, that's for sure. With the new grille that is inspired from the SLS, the sharp angular nose, and the aggressive LED day-running lights make the new SLK even more appetizing... It looks much more than just a compact convertible, it looks like it was mashed together with an SLS, an E class Coupe, and a C class from the rear into one compact masterpiece like one of those paintings where paint is splashed everywhere but it just works. Its a brilliant piece of design this. Mercedes engineers have retained the 'less is more' ideology and kept the dimensions of the new SLK relatively similar to the previous one which means it retains its agile feel, unlike BMW who have gone 'bigger is better' with its Z4 dimension wise. The new SLK features luxuries that originate from its bigger brother, the SL. Like the panoramic glass 'vario' roof which essentially is reinforced tinted glass to cover the center portion of the roof designed specially to let more light in if it gets cloudy and you want to be bathed in more light. There's also the new AIRSCARF system which warms your neck, not that you really need it here but its still a 'nice to have' option nonetheless. Together with that, comes the AIRCAP automatic wind deflector which makes sure wigs don't fly out of the car. There's even going to be drowsiness detection as a safety feature! Hope that option comes along with the SLK to Singapore.. The rear wheel drive chassis remains unchanged as well, but its tweaked to give a more comfortable ride and sharper steering. Engines will come in 4 or 6 cylinder options with the range topping AMG version which will produce 400bhp from a 3.5 litre V6 twin turbo. The one I'll be looking forward to is going to be the baby version of the SLS Gullwing, the latter part of the name just sells the car already. Who wouldn't want that?
  23. Its finally here. The car that Audi claims is three cars in one has been launched here in Singapore. We have already been accustomed to the coupe version of the A5 which is by far, one of the most stunning cars Audi has ever come up with in my opinion, and now there's the 4 door saloon version for people who want to buy this car with more of their heads than their hearts. Its called the Sportback simply because it looks sportier and more aggressive than the A4 which it is based on. Sportier it is as its ground clearance is 36mm lower and two engines will be available; the mighty 3.2-litre FSI V6 which is home to 265 horses and a 2.0 litre one which I think will be rather pointless as the car weighs roughly 1.6 tonnes, with a 2.0 litre under the bonnet and 211bhp, I think you're better off with the 3.2 litre if money isn't and issue. The biggest difference between the 2 variants is that the 3.2 litre comes with a Sport differential which distributes the torque from the engine to the rear wheels. However, the stuff that comes as standard across both variants include Audi's drive select, dynamic steering and 3 zone air conditioning. Getting the 3.2 litre top of the range model will also allow you to enjoy the S-line body kit, a pimped out sound system from Bang & Olufsen and adaptive headlights. The price of the 3.2-litre variant is just over 200k at $201,800 while the 2.0-litre version can be yours at $174,500. Both set at rather competitive prices as compared to the Mercedes E class Coupe and the BMW 3 Series coupe and convertible. So what would it be? Choosing the Sportback is the practical choice while the Coupe is for the youthful soul that resonates from within, nevertheless, this is a great car to own.
