Footage shared online showed several helicopters flying low in formation over the Lumut naval base, located about 160km from the capital Kuala Lumpur. The helicopters were participating in a flypast rehearsal ahead of Naval Day celebrations in May. One chopper was seen clipping the rear rotor of another, causing both to go into a tailspin and crash. "The two helicopters collided during flight training," said Mr Suhaimy Mohamad Suhail, senior operations commander from the fire and rescue department, adding that all 10 crew members on board were confirmed dead by medical officers. The two aircraft involved were a Eurocopter AS555SN Fennec and an AgustaWestland AW139, the rescue agency said. Photos showed the Eurocopter model heavily mangled in the wreckage on the naval base stadium track with rescue personnel surrounding it as well as various debris. The AgustaWestland helicopter crashed at the naval base's swimming pool area. 'NATIONAL HEROES' Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sent his condolences to the families of the victims, saying "the nation mourns the heart-wrenching and soul-wrenching tragedy". "I was informed that an immediate investigation will be carried out by the Ministry of Defence, especially TLDM (Royal Malaysian Navy), to find the cause of the crash," he said. Malaysia's King Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar also shared condolences. "Queen Zarith and I feel very sad over the loss of national heroes in this tragedy," he said in a social media post. Helicopter crashes are not uncommon in the Southeast Asian nation. Last month, all four people onboard a Malaysian coast guard helicopter were rescued after it crashed in the Strait of Malacca. The helicopter was on a training flight when it plunged into the waterway, a narrow shipping lane which runs between Malaysia and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Two people were killed in 2020 when a pair of helicopters from the same Malaysian pilot school collided during a training flight, according to authorities. Imagine minding your own business on the road when suddenly some goondu driver knocks into you TWICE. What happened? A PHV (private hire vehicle) Honda Vezel was heading back to Singapore on the Causeway when they were knocked into by a Malaysian car. GG lah, knock one time and then they step on the gas pedal for another round. Driver went for the double tap. To make matters worse, the driver at fault apparently made the claim towards police that the camcar had suddenly braked, and so she could not stop on time. Upon watching the video, I say… Camcar was travelling at such a slow and steady pace still cannot press the brake pedal??? If anything it even looks like they accelerated a little bit! The camcar’s rental company also can't claim against the Malaysian car because it's a foreign vehicle. After the camcar driver requested a private settlement, she also went MIA,. forcing them to bear the cost of the damage. The camcar driver went on to say in the original Facebook post :“Buy insurance for what? Malaysia car hit us we cannot claim.” They hoped to “get some advice from the comments on how to settle without bearing the cost” , otherwise needing to pay $2000 in excess to their insurance company. There’s a time and place to go fast guys, and the carpark is not one of them. What happened? An overzealous Volkswagen Beetle was going fast enough in a multi-storey carpark (MSCP) at Bukit Merah Central to break through the metal and concrete barriers. Someone managed to record footage of the incident from their car, likely through dashcam. Can’t imagine how loud that would have been on the outside. God sends auntie a sign to stop jaywalking with high speed crash

If there was ever a sign from a higher power to stop doing something, this is definitely one. What happened? An auntie was happily walking along underneath trees on the road divider when a taxi came out of nowhere and t-boned another car, narrowly missing the auntie. The auntie was no doubt left shocked from what just unfolded before her and fell on the ground in shock. The incident happened at the junction of Mandalay Road and Moulmein Road. Police reported that the people involved, a 68-year-old taxi driver, a 61-year-old driver and his 45-year-old passenger were conscious when they were taken to the hospital. Two of them were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, while the third was sent to Singapore General Hospital. It is unknown what caused the accident, whether the taxi driver was not paying attention or his brakes failed him. The condition of the auntie is unknown, but I am willing to bet good money she will always cross at a junction from now on. The vitriol in the comments is palpable. What happened? A motorcyclist hit a Volkswagen Golf while lanesplitting on the Pan-Island expressway (PIE) on 7th August. The motorcyclist made a sudden swerve and hit the car, causing him to flip forwards and off his bike. Looks like when an NPC glitches out in a video game. What has people in the comments riled up is that the motorcyclist was registered under a Malaysian plate, which would (apparently) make it difficult for the Golf driver to get compensation for damages as it is a foreign vehicle. Prayers to the motorcyclist's family. What happened? A Honda Jazz cut off and side swiped a motorcyclist at Yishun Avenue 1 on 23 July 2023, around 9.30 A.M. This sent the motorcyclist off his bike and knocked his helmet off as well, leaving his head unprotected as he crashed onto the tarmac. The motorcyclist laid still on the ground, and another rider who went past the motorcyclist as the incident took place, but stopped and went over to check on the victim. The person who provided the footage claimed to have returned to the scene and reported to the police after dropping off their wife, who called the ambulance. It is unknown if the Honda Jazz had motive or if it was simply reckless driving. Online Chatter Some facebook users who claimed to be the victim’s father-in-law and cousin have commented under the post saying that he is in a comatose state in the ICU. Lorry causes massive multi-vehicle accident at SLE, 5 hospitalised

What happened? A massive crash took place in Seletar Expressway (SLE) on 6 July 2023 after a Toyota lorry lost control and skidded, causing a chain collision involving 5 other motorcyclists and a car. As we can see in the footage, the motorcyclists were left with no time to react. One motorcyclist leapt off his bike to avoid the crash, while others were unable to avoid it and caused a pile up. The first motorcyclist was also put between the lorry and a Honda, though the extent of the damage to the Honda is unknown. In the aftermath of the incident, it is shown that shrapnel was left littered across the road, while some of the riders involved were lying on the ground, injured. Fortunately, other riders were present to help them out and ensure their well being. The injured riders were conscious and sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. It is not known what happened to cause the lorry to lose control, or the condition of the lorry driver. Drunk driver refuses to go hospital after crashing into a tree

Whatever he drank, it has to be something the servers go “you sure?” upon ordering one. Watch to see why! What happened? A camcar recorded managed to capture footage of a white car while travelling on Adam Road in the wee hours of the morning. 4.15 A.M is not an ideal time to be awake but I respect the hustle. Whoever was in the white car was most certainly not hustling though. As seen in the footage, the car rammed into a tree, cutting down a tree using sheer horsepower (I doubt there was any will). Jeremy Clarkson would be proud. The car tipped over to its side. More tragically however, some birds were knocked out of the tree! Although they seem uninjured, some remained on the road, as if mourning the sudden loss of their home. Maybe it was intentional, and the driver hit them out of frustration that he can’t live rent free as well (low key understand it). Police arrived on the scene after being alerted that an accident occurred. They reported that the driver escaped with minor injuries, but refused to be sent to the hospital. Imagine crashing and flipping your car, the police telling you to go to the hospital, and still saying no. This alcohol is next level. TL,DR - BMW driver tries to be a cheapskate and has skill issue, ends up needing to pay more than just parking fees Guys… I’m running out of things to say for situations like these. Especially when certain vehicles are involved. What happened? A BMW 318 driver in Boon Lay Place decided to skip paying parking fees and that it’d be a good idea to pay for insurance claims instead. This is shown from how close they were tailgating the camcar. I have not driven in a while, but I am very sure that’s not a “safe distance”. I was promptly proven right because the BMW driver did not stop in time when the camcar stopped to enter the road. This led to an audible knock against the camcar’s rear bumper. The owner of the camcar got out in order to confront the BMW driver, though the audio of their conversation was too soft to hear in the video. According to the Facebook post, the BMW driver claimed that the camcar driver was busy using his HP and other “lame rubbish”, forcing the BMW driver to reverse. In the original Facebook post, the camcar was quoted as saying “Tailgate also no standard bang people rear.” I like how this implies the camcar also tailgates others but is much better at it than the BMW driver. Uncle comes out unscathed after multi car crash in Malaysia

This uncle used multiple years worth of luck to come out of this alive, let alone (seemingly) uninjured. Watch the video to see what I’m talking about.. What happened? On 12 March 2023 (yeah, i don't know why we’re only seeing this now), a bus driver in Malaysia plowed into a bunch of vehicles on a crowded road. In the footage taken from a camcar that was also in the accident, the bus clearly took a long time to stop, as there was the sound of braking before the bus came into view. When the bus did come into view, we can see multiple vehicles were being pushed by the bus. This made a sort of battering ram that hit other cars on the road as the bus struggled to reach a halt. The aftermath was an absolutely crushed blue car, a few mangled sedans and a Toyota Estima with half its front bumper detached. There were also a few men yelling at the bus driver while the footage showed the wreckage. Speaking of the crushed blue car, the video shows an old uncle helped up by the authorities and placed on a stretcher. The uncle was apparently inside the blue car, though it is unknown if he was the only person. How they pulled him out of there I have no idea. Furthermore, his clothes look pristine. It is unknown what led to the accident, whether brake failure or neglect on the bus driver’s part. Hyundai driver hits motorcyclist on expressway like he owes him money

We’ve seen many examples of bad driving in this forum, but this one is just malicious. What happened? On 11 May, 8.51 a.m. at Tampines Expressway, a Hyundai Elantra driver decided to hit a motorcycle while disguising it as lane filtering. As you can see in the video, the Hyundai was coming in from another road to join the expressway. Immediately the Hyundai went across multiple lanes at once, and headed for the motorcycle like a missile. The motorcyclist had a pillion rider as well, and both of them were sent rolling across the tarmac, their bike skidding away. The Hyundai showed no remorse for the move, as there was not even a hint of braking or turning away before the impact. The driver simply continued on their way like nothing happened, not stopping to check if he committed vehicular manslaughter. We can see when the Hyundai driver passes the camcar that he left his turn signal on when he was “lane filtering”. Now I know why when you make a mess it’s sometimes called a skidmark. Watch this video to see what kind of mess the lorry and taxi made when they came together. What happened? On 1 May 2023, a crash involving a lorry and a Hyundai taxi took place at the junction of Bras Basah Road and Nicoll Highway in front of Suntec Convention Centre. It is unclear as to the causes of the crash as the two cars are faced away from each other. The lorry was facing towards the entrance of Esplanade MRT while the taxi still faced the direction of the road. Think of one of those diagrams for vectors in O-Levels (ughhhhh). The lorry has been flipped to its side, while the taxi is some distance away from it with an open fuel tank and missing its entire front end. I’m really confused by this crash because the taxi is some distance away from the lorry, facing a completely different direction than the lorry even after impact. But somehow it was not hit with enough force to flip the taxi over or deal more structural damage. The video also shows a glimpse of a deployed airbag in the taxi, but no signs of any one having been inside the vehicle. SCDF personnel were present to close off the scene and gather evidence from the taxi. The taxi also left a trail of fluids behind it and intermittent skid marks on the road. If the trail is wet, does it become diarrhea instead? We do not know the condition of the drivers or if any pedestrians were involved. Mini Cooper and Toyota flip after high speed crash, causing massive jam

A Mini Cooper S launched itself at a Toyota camcar in Kluang, causing a massive jam and turning both cars into wrecks on their sides. What happened? The camcar was sitting at the junction when the Mini turned in towards the camcar's right, going too fast and hitting the camcar head on. This resulted in both cars being flipped on their side. We can see in the video that debris littered the road, metal and glass coming from the damaged bodywork of both cars. Some passersby helped out to get the cars back on their wheels in order to be towed away. The accident caused a traffic jam that went for an unknown distance. The conditions of the drivers are unknown. What happened? Phoo Yi Lin, 26, admitted on Monday to driving the white BMW M4 in a dangerous manner at around 5.35am on Feb 13, 2021. This was prior to the incident where another driver caused a fatal crash that claimed 5 lives. It was not disclosed if Ms Phoo was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, but District Judge Salina Ishak noted that Phoo had consumed alcohol before she drove the car that morning. Ms Phoo and her friends drove around the Tanjong Pagar area, taking turns at the wheel to see who could drive the car the fastest. She clocked 109km/h to 130km/h, but dashcam footage from a taxi in the area suggests that she may have hit 181km/h as well. The speed limit for that area is 50km/h. The prosecutor requested for the maximum fine of S$5,000 to be meted out to Phoo. This is considering that a cyclist and at least two pedestrians were present when she sped the car down the road. People charged for dangerous driving face up to 12 months in jail, a $5,000 fine or both. Ms Phoo’s sentence was a $5,000 fine and a 3 month ban from driving. Her lawyer pleaded with the court to “give her a chance”, adding that she had lost her job and had lost a number of friends due to the accident. On 16 March she requested to leave Singapore, but her application was rejected as she was considered a flight risk facing a serious offence. TL;DR - Mazda 5 driver’s failure to obey traffic rules sent a pedestrian flying at Yuan Ching Road. This Mazda driver definitely lives up to the standard of being a ‘kiasu’ Singaporean. Watch this to see what I mean. What Happened? A (dramatic) footage surfaced on SGRV of a Mazda driver knocking down a pedestrian and sending him in the air at Yuan Ching Road. The traffic light was green for pedestrian crossing (with a significant number of seconds left) when a Mazda 5 driver decided to still drive across, thinking he could out-beat the pedestrian. Unfortunately, he did not. And this ‘kiasu’ mistake resulted in the pedestrian getting banged. The young pedestrian was cartwheeled into the air from the impact, hitting his head on the concrete as he slammed into the ground. TL;DR - An accident involving a Ferrari with a Singapore-registered licence plate and a Toyota Altis occurred in Muar, Malaysia recently. An accident happened after its driver failed to control the vehicle while on Kilometer 144 North-South Highway northbound, this morning. Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said, in the incident at 7.25 a.m., a Ferrari driven by a youth from Singapore had rammed into the back of a Toyota Altis ridden by four local men in their 50s. "The accident is believed to have occurred when a luxury car driven by a 22-year-old Singaporean that was on its way to Kuala Lumpur crashed into the back of the victim's car which was in the right lane. "As a result of the accident, both vehicles have crashed to the right of the road and resulted in all Toyota Altis passengers suffering minor injuries," he said when called. Once again for the umpteenth time within the hour, the internet is enraged. But this time, it’s completely understandable. What's going on? A motorcyclist was riding along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 when a sedan from the opposing lane rammed into him, sending metal flying all over the road. Online chatter Facebook users have called for the driver to be punished harshly, ranging from jail to a lifelong ban on driving. According to the person who submitted the video, the motorcyclist has been admitted to the hospital and is recovering well with no major injuries. Some more positive netizens have wished the rider a speedy recovery (pun fully intended). TL;DR - P-plate Honda Jazz collided with a lorry and smashed into the road divider, resulting in a massive traffic jam as lanes were blocked. On a rainy day, this Lancer was caught speeding and overtaking another vehicle along Keppel Viaduct. After it overtook the car, the driver somehow lost vehicle traction, which caused the Lancer to crash on the left side’s concrete barrier. TL;DR - A van slammed into a double decker bus on the expressway on a wet wet night. The vehicle skidded from the first to the third lane and got T-boned by an oncoming double-decker bus.
