  1. Do you know the story of David and Goliath? Well, if you don't, long story short, it's a story of a small boy who defeats a giant man with nothing but a slingshot. We have a Singapore version. Let's take a look at a short clip of a food delivery cyclist engaging in an argument with a bus driver driving a SBS bus. Unlike the David and Goliath story, no slingshots were used but, in true blue Singaporean fashion, lots of pointing and cursing ensued. This incident makes me think of the upcoming movie of Kong vs Godzilla (not a sponsored post. I really want to watch it though). The only difference? Both Kong and Godzilla are comparatively equal in size. This food delivery guy's bicycle pales in comparison to the bus to be frank. My take on this incident With all these dash cam cameras on the road these days, you're bound to end up online if you engage in such negative behaviour. So, what's the point in getting so worked up for? Lucky for the cyclist that this altercation was just a verbal one. Imagine if it had become physical. The internet would 'pang no chance' with this guy. Unfortunately, we cannot hear what the food delivery guy says to the bus driver. You can make your own assumptions but, from the body language, I'm quite sure it's a colourful conversation. "Thank you for giving way" 🤣 - They should put this sign next to the bus driver
  2. As a driver, I always groan whenever I see a cyclist in front of me. As bicycles are naturally slower than cars, they tend to hog the lane they're on and I try my best to always steer clear away from them as possible. Not everyone's like that though. Let's take this BMW driver in the video for example. In the video, dated 15th March 2021, you can see that the driver doesn't adhere to the 'keep a 1.5m distance away from cyclists' rule nor does he steer away from the bicycle. If I didn't know any better, it actually looks like the driver wanted to run the cyclist down. Here's the video (turn up the volume to listen in on the conversation): For those who don't understand Hokkien, don't worry, Uncle Koba will be your translator The heated exchange happens after the cyclist slapped/knocked the side of the car to warn the driver how close the car was to him. The driver comes to a stop and horns 🥳 The driver lets out a string of vulgarities that does not need any translation Cyclist: Eh, you purposely one is it? Driver: What's the matter? I'm driving!️ Cyclist: Why are you coming closer and closer to me? Driver: Did I bang you? Cyclist: The road so big, why you choose to keep to this lane? The rest of the video goes on to talk about their father, mother, cats & dogs. Then the driver speeds off, leaving a fuming cyclist in the dust 💨 Do you think the driver should have given more space? Or, do you think that the cyclist has very entitled views on how cyclists should be treated on the roads?
  3. A pair of cyclists were caught on camera beating a red light along Tanah Merah Coast Road -- only to be stopped a minute later by a Traffic Police on a motorcycle who chased after them. A video of the incident was put up on Facebook on March 15. The footage was shot from the camera attached to the bicycle of another cyclist trailing behind the traffic light-beating duo. The footage of the duo beating the red light can be viewed from the 1-minute 17-second mark. What video showed The cyclist recording the footage stopped at the red light with another fellow cyclist. The footage showed the two other cyclists riding ahead failing to form up behind the white line when the traffic lights were clearly red. Death wish Shortly after stopping, one of them was heard on audio talking about the duo who beat the traffic light: "They have a death wish." The sound of a motorcycle pulling up, believed to be the Traffic Police, was also heard within a split second. Another voice, believed to be the Traffic Police, then asked: "Do they belong to your group of friends?" In response, a voice believed to be one of the cyclists, said: "We're trying to stop them but they just went off." Cyclists and Traffic Police shoot the breeze This was followed by some banter between the cyclists and the Traffic Police as they waited for the lights to turn green. One of the cyclists then said, perhaps in response to the Traffic Police's motorcycle: "Nice bike man. 1,000cc?" The same voice also asked if the motorcycle was "heavy". Within seconds, the traffic light turned green and a Traffic Police could be seen accelerating from the next lane on the right and disappearing from the frame. Chased cyclists The sped-up portion of the video initially showed the aftermath of the Traffic Police catching up and puling over the two cyclists who beat the red light. Tanah Merah Coast Road popular with cyclists The dedicated 2m wide cycling lane on the left-most lane of Tanah Merah Coast Road spans about 10km. It can cater to two cyclists riding abreast. The bicycle lane is marked out in both directions on the road. It opened to the public on April 22, 2017. Source: https://mothership.sg/2021/03/cyclists-beat-red-light/
  4. Another day, Another Rude Cyclist. We have an AMDK cyclist suka suka riding on the roads again. This video was taken along South Bridge Rd, near Chinatown Complex. It was circulated on a whatsapp group yesterday, featuring a driver and a cyclist trying to figure out who's more to blame. From the video, you can tell that the driver switched lanes because he wanted to overtake the cyclist and turn left. However, upon coming to a turn, he realises it's better to let the cyclist go – but he realises this a little late. His car cuts into the left lane and presumably scares the cyclist. Unsurprisingly, the cyclist brazenly thanks him with a middle-finger before driving off. ezgif-3-6927a2988533.mp4 Firstly, that's a really offensive middle-finger. Secondly, the cyclist should wait for the pedestrian green-light to go straight, since he didn't have any intention to turn left. Thirdly, I can only imagine the rage of the driver. LTA states that while cyclists have the right to ride on the middle of roads, they should "obey all traffic signals and travel in the same direction as the flow of traffic". The cyclist clearly didn't care about the turn-left-only lane he was on. They should also "always ride as close as practicable to the left-hand edge of roads, and allow traffic to overtake you safely". This effectively means that cyclists should give way to faster vehicles. Even though the video doesn't show what happened at the side, judging from his middle-finger, I'm guessing that he was mad that the driver was trying to overtake him. Therefore, this guy clearly had no intention of even letting the traffic overtake him. I get it, the cyclist had a rude shock but that middle-finger is uncalled for. Being at fault but thinking you're right is a personality trait most road cyclists have, especially the ones who end up online. I feel sorry for the cyclist's loved ones – that attitude isn't going to get him very far, literally. Read the road laws for cycling, dude.
  5. Hi guys, we have more trouble-making cyclists to report. Uploaded on SG Road Vigilante's page is an incident between a cyclist and a SMRT taxi on 7th of Feb 2021 at around 2pm along Kallang road. All was well until the taxi driver wanted to turn into Crawford Street but realised that two cyclists was in his way. Realising that the cyclists wasn't going to give way, the taxi slowed down and slotted himself behind the cyclists before turning left. However, it seemed that one of the cyclist felt that the taxi driver had endangered his life when the taxi made his first move to filter left and proceeded to chase the taxi. We have no idea why he would do that. Did he think that he could chase the taxi and stop him with his bicycle? That is putting aside the fact that the taxi already gave way to him anyway. We pity the friend who was abandoned due to the cyclist's impulsive rage and it was no surprise that netizens flamed the cyclist's actions big time...
  6. Here are some photos from ROAD.sg and we have some YP cyclists cycling inside fort canning tunnel!!!! So, someone has emailed to Traffic Police about this incident. Then where can cyclist cycle arh??? There again, drivers please beware of all the YPs trying to act like Joseph Gordon-Levitt from Premium rush.
  7. Why Drivers Hate To See Cyclists To all cycling enthusiasts and pro-cycling people, this 'PBK' in the video is one reason why drivers hate you. Please watch this video (uploaded by SG Road Vigilante) and tell me whether you feel the rage I feel as a driver. Source: SG Road Vigilante YouTube What's Happening In this 0.29 second video, we see a cyclist doing a series of wrong things (in just 3 seconds) 1. He's cycling on a footpath when he should be on the road 2. He does not check his blind spot 3. He makes a 'lane change' to the road with total disregard to traffic This incident happens along Mandai Road, near the Mandai Crematorium (which is where he would have gone if he had been run down). What's worse, from the cam car's footage, it looks like it might have hit the KIA Niro in front that had to do an emergency brake (the recording cuts off before any impact, so I can only speculate). The Online Chatter THIS PERSON’S COMMENT ALL CAPS. I CAN FEEL THE ANGST. I also say.
  8. My memories of Tour de France revolve around notable cyclists like Chris Froome, Lance Armstrong and perhaps Eddie Peng (the actor who have acted To the fore) Spotted on SG Road Vigilante YouTube, we have spotted a father and son figure taking their bicycle and cycle along ECP (East-Coast Park Expressway) And here's the video. I do respect this father who wants to train his son at the upmost perfect terrain for his son. However, according to our LTA rules. Under Rule 3 of the Road Traffic (Expressway – Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010, cyclists are not permitted to ride their bicycles, including Power Assisted Bicycles, on expressways. Cyclists who are found riding on expressways may be liable for a fine not exceeding S$2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months. The authorities will enforce against road users who choose to flout the traffic rules. For cycling enthusiasts. There is an on-road bicycle lane to open in Changi East, It is 10km-long, 2m-wide bicycle lane on both sides. Gambate! I will be rooting for you when you and your son when you guys are participating in Tour de Singapura France. But for now, please keep our expressway free of an accident!
  9. Sometimes we wonder why cyclists are not licensed. If you aren't convinced, maybe watching a video below like the one below might make you re-consider. Shot on 8th of Nov 2020 with the camera car turning onto Dunearn Road, we can see that the driver stops abruptly before a caucasian cyclist comes into view with his middle finger raised for a split second. Obviously that wasn't very pleasant with the driver who submitted the video to ROAD.sg claiming that the cyclist was going across the road when the Red-man sign was lighted. What do you guys think? Should our traffic police start handing out more fines to cyclists who don't obey the rules of the road? The Netizens sure agree from what we can see...
  10. We all know cyclists should cycle on either the PCN or on the roads. But being on the road can be dangerous for cyclists who don't know how to look out for themselves as we can see in the video posted by SG Road Vigilante on the 28th of October. Shot in the morning by a camera car on Clemenceau Ave, the cyclist could be seen changing lanes to the right without checking for traffic coming up from the right. Unfortunately, a Comfort taxi did really come up on the right at a good speed and just barely managed to avoid knocking him down. That said, the taxi's wing mirror did knock the cyclist off balance, causing him to fall. Do you think cyclists who wish to cycle on the road ought to undergo the Basic Theory Test at a minimum? We highly think so. Let us know if you agree with us or not in the comments section! https://fb.watch/1rcEp62JAl/
  11. Are cyclists getting out of hand these days? We'd say so as more and more videos of cyclists ignoring traffic rules and getting angry with other road users have been surfacing. It doesn't help as COVID has encouraged more people to workout, with cycling fast becoming one of the more popular choices/excuses to get out of the house. According to SG Road Vigilante, this incident between 2 cyclists and the camera car happened on 30th August 2020 at 17:15 along east coast road. As the road is a single lane road, SGRV claims that the camera car wanted to overtake and horned at the cyclists that he/she is proceeding with an overtaking maneuver. Unfortunately, the cyclist wasn't happy and started some 'ah-beng taunting' actions. Do you think the cyclists in the videos are self-entitled? Or do you reckon the driver should have just queued up and drove slowly behind them? Let us know!
  12. There's a difference between vengeance and self defence. Blockheads who don't know the difference will be educated in court. And the only reason these spandex heroes are so garang is because they're basically anonymous. Make visible registration compulsory and their balls and ego will shrivel right up, along with their keenness to destroy other people's property to vent their outrage.
  13. Now this will probably open up a can of worms or two. Who do you reckon is in the wrong? The cyclist or the driver of the Audi? Filmed by the cyclist on 5th of July along mandai road, a white Audi A1 could be seen pulling out of a small lane and into the path of a cyclist who was doing less than 30km/h on his bike. According to the source SG Road Vigilante, the guys there reckoned the car did not notice or did not care about the cyclist, barely cutting him off. What do you guys think? Was it a close call or an error on the part of the Audi driver? Or was this a simple case of the cyclist letting his ego take control of him and not riding defensively for his own safety? Let us know in the comments below!
  14. A van has been injured in this accident due to a cyclist's silly carelessness. Jokes aside, this is quite an unfortunate incident whereby a cyclist smashed into the back of a Toyota Hiace van which was stationary along one of Old Airport Road's traffic junction. The accident happened in the wee hours of the morning, with the cyclist apparently beating a red light at the previous junction as traffic was light. With the need to go as fast possible, he likely chose keep his gaze low on the road to be as aerodynamic as possible without realising that the van that he was about to crash into had actually stopped at the upcoming traffic junction. Thankfully, the cyclist survived but he sure looked quite messed up. We hope he recovers well! P.S. SG Road Vigilante's video thumbnail might be slightly disturbing for some. Viewer discretion advised!
  15. We wonder if these group of cyclists are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing when they ride in such a large group.. Posted by the people from SG Road Vigilante on 7th of Aug 2020 is a video of a large group of cyclist riding together seriously before a crash causes a chain collision of bicycles. Some of us might find the accident funny while some would be shocked at how dangerous riding on the road could be. We just hope that everyone recovers well from their fall. Of course, such a post will put netizens into a commenting frenzy where everyone will be slamming the cyclists for road-hogging and riding in a group of more than five. Do you feel that these large gatherings should be stopped? Or do you feel that more and more cyclists are taking advantage of our roads? Let us know...

  17. Our Circuit Breaker measures sure bring up quite a few weird incidents. I mean why would you even cycle in an expressway tunnel? As seen on ROAD.sg's website, it did seemed like someone cycled along our Marina Coastal Expressway on the 9th of April and was stopped by a Special Operation Command Police vehicle. As uncommon as it is to see a cyclist on an expressway, it is even rarer to see someone from the SOC stop a traffic offender as it is not part of their job scope. Kudos to the fellas for going the extra mile! Even netizens on the facebook page were also grateful to police force! videoplayback.mp4
  18. Bad idea to let cyclists ride into mallSources: https://www.straitstimes.com/forum/letters-in-print/bad-idea-to-let-cyclists-ride-into-mall The new Funan mall will feature a 200m cycling path that runs through and around it.ST PHOTO: LIM YAOHUI I read with shock and dismay about how the new Funan mall will allow cyclists to cycle in the mall (New Funan mall lets cyclists ride through it, May 22). This is a very dangerous idea as customers shopping at the mall will be at risk of injury. Who will monitor the cyclists so they do not speed or ride recklessly? It is bad enough that pedestrians have to deal with reckless and speeding cyclists. Now, even mall customers have to deal with these dangerous riders. Furthermore, these cyclists will jostle with customers and ride their bikes into lifts, causing a lot of inconvenience. For safety reasons, cyclists must not be allowed into malls. Can't they park their bikes and walk in the shopping centre like everyone else? Hopefully, other malls will not take Funan mall's cue. I, for one, will not patronise a mall that allows cyclists to ride around in it. My safety is more important than my shopping. This will encourage me to shop online more and avoid malls. 19. On a private car, this would count as an illegal modification. OK for taxis coz LTA gets a fee for the ad?
