  1. I am thinking of changing my next ride to Daihatsu Materia. Any comments on this ride?Thks.
  2. Any comments about the Terios and Cefiro???
  3. Any bro or sis here driving a Daihatsu COPEN? very nice car but how come no one bring in? http://www.daihatsu.com/catalogue/copen/07/06.html
  4. For Toyota BB and Scion XB fans, check out the new Daihatsu Materia at STS, saw it at the showroom recently and told it was awaiting LTA approval. Just saw it listed at sgcarmart now.
  5. Hi all, I am driving a Terios Auto for a month liao. Generally, I am happy with the pick up (I know the pick up is damn slow but still acceptable) But I am more concerned with the overall speed and RPM. When I'm driving 80-90kmh, the RPM is around 2300~2500 The moment I hit 100kmh, the RPM is 3000 and above. I heard from my colleague that his Fit hits only RPM 2500 when he's at 110kmh Is there any legal mod to increase the speed to 110kmh and still maintain a reasonable RPM around 2500-3000? I tried being light footed but in vain. Oh yeah, I drove a manual previously so I'm a crap with autos BTW, the specification as shown below. Engine type 3SZ, inline 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC, DVVT Total displacement cc 1,495 Bore x stroke mm 72.0 x 91.8 Max. output kW/rpm 77/6,000 Max. torque Nm/rpm 140/4,400 Compression ratio 10 Fuel system EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) Fuel tank capacity litres 50 4 A/T 1st: 2.731, 2nd: 1.526, 3rd: 1.000, 4th: 0.696, Rev.: 2.290 Final reduction gear ratio 4 A/T 4WD: 5.571 Tyres 215/65R16 Fuel consumption 4 A/T L/100km 8.0 8.4 CO2 emission 4 A/T g/km 188 196
  6. dear bro and sis i am thinking of changing my 3.5 yr old sunny (A) into a daihatsu sirion basic (A) main reason is because of sunny (A) high fuel comsumption (10.5-11.2km/l) As sirion is rarely seen on sg road (compare to jazz,swift,getz)... i would like to know if there's any Disadvantage in future for investing Sirion? Your comments are appreciated
  7. Will we ever see a <$40K Japanese competitor to Kelisa and Picanto? If only STS brings in the Trevis. Daihatsu Trevis I find it really cute, may prefer this to Kelisa and Picanto. Too bad Singapore only have Sirion and Materia. Daihatsu's new Trevis city car. With retro styling that apes the general look of the original Mini (with two extra doors, of course), the little Trevis is easy on they eyes. Where it really shines, however, is at the pump. City cars are fuel misers and the Daihatsu is no exception. Its 58-horse 1.0L DOHC 3-cylinder is good for 20.8km/L in the European city/hwy combined cycle when equipped with the 5-speed manual. If equipped with the optional 4-speed automatic, it drops to 17km/L. The run to 100km/h takes 12.2 seconds. Not bad when you consider the power, and certainly not a real issue in dedicated urban driving, where you're stopping and going all the time anyway. The interior has a refreshingly clean layout that carries the modern/retro styling inside. The driver is met with an attractive instrument cluster and an available MOMO leather-wrapped steering wheel.
  8. Hey, Anyone has information on this new model of Copen ZZ for SG market? I am wondering how it drives. Is there anywhere to test drive one of the existing current model? I am thinking of getting the copen ZZ, 1.5l with turbo and wider body. At least still wont get smoked by sedan cars Any information available, appreciated. Thanks. I am not selling my ride, just getting another.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKivMUB4_ME...related&search= Can't understand what they talking abt but i think the Fit did quite well surprisingly

  11. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/auth_car_info.php?AC=729 http://www.sts.com.sg/showroom/daihatsu_ca...p?model=materia The newly launched Daihatsu Materia bears a close resemblemnce to the Nissan Bb. I was told that it shares the same engine as the same 1.5l engine Toyota Yaris, Vios & G9 Corolla. Has anyone test driven it?

  14. All that debate about TH vs. JP Camry. Do you guys realise you're talking about the ALTIS as well. The DAIHATSU Altis. http://www.daihatsu.co.jp/showroom/lineup/altis/index.htm Check it out. Two local legends in one. Daihatsu + Altis = Toyota Camry Its so funny the way people regard TOYOTA. like its gold. Queue up like lemmings at Borneo Motors. Only to be treated like dirt. and see Daihatsu NO UP. haha.. They're the very same car. inside and out. Same company. same manufacturer. Both good brands. deserving of respect. One seems to get that much more attention than the other. Food for thought.
  15. Since the price of Colt Sports is almost the same here, which is better in terms of handling? Heard of the stiff and rather high suspension in the YRV, wonder if Colt is better off. But for 70k, can have a chance of driving a tc car......1.5 N.A. vs 1.3 TC
  16. hi friends Wife was driving towards office and stopped along Keppel Road, and a strange vehicle that looked remotely like an Audi TT, only rounder, stopped beside us. We couldn't make out what it was then. Then yesterday, wife saw another one, silver in color, and saw the make - Daihatsu! I Googled and found that it is the Daihatsu Copen, a 1,298cc convertible. Very refreshing and rare I think? See the full car info here (sorry i couldn't snap a pic of the SG Copen here): http://www.daihatsu.com/catalogue/copen/index.html and the specs here: http://www.daihatsu.com/catalogue/copen/08/index.html Wikipedia has some description of it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daihatsu_Copen Parkers UK has a lengthy review about the car here: http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/carrevie...x?model_id=1170 bless tashi PS - Wonder if it is a PI vehicle, or there is an authorized distributor? Just curious, at least must go look-see and sit in the actual one in the showroom!
