  1. The Black Vios driver who are driving and had the street directory on the steering wheel (reading it) on the ECP this morning.. Pls stop doing it again, you are endanger other ppl life even through you don't appreciate yours
  2. Read it here Ever wondered which roads in Singapore are the most hazardous? Or which have the most accidents? We've compiled a list of the top 10 accident-prone roads (not in any particular order) here. Best to avoid these roads when your lucky stars aren't shining. Top 10 accident-prone roads 1.Bukit Timah Road 2.Lentor Avenue 3. Upper Serangoon Road 4. Thomson Road 5. Upp Thomson Road 6. Orchard Road 7. Scotts Road 8. Braddell Road 9. Clementi Road 10. Yio Chu Kang Road Also interesting to note, is that 25 percent of accidents happen on expressways, of which the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) claims the most victims (33 percent). Of these accidents on the PIE, 57 percent of them happen when motorists are travelling towards the direction of Changi Airport. Perhaps this is a good reminder to always plan your time well before a flight to avoid rushing on the road. Statistics are provided by Aviva Singapore, and are based on reported accidents and claims submissions to Aviva's car insurance. Drive safely brudders!

  4. I recorded this on my car cam this afternoon from work....just when I heard from the radio that the car insurance is gonna increase again Basically, it shows a WRX zooming across the opposite lanes, with cars coming from the other side. Not sure what he/she was thinking. Its not obvious in the video, but the speed was pretty fast as well. Just see for yourself. Click link to view.
  5. I kana first hand experience yesterday at Queensway junction. There are 3 lanes from turning right. Thus normal if you are on the right lane, you keep to lane 1 when you turn, middle keep to lane 2 and so on. I was on lane 2. A lady driver (middle age 40-50yrs old) driving a Honda CRV on right lane. When she turns, she just happily cut into my lane w/o looking and signally...... I have to swerve and jam brakes, barely have time to even horn her. Whats more fantastic is that she just cuts in to lane 3 after that. I was like WTF.... cutting 3 lanes at one go w/o looking or signally. Almost causing an accident.
  6. Dear Mcfers, I would like to wish everyone a Happy CNY and have a safe drive over this period. Yesterday, I had received 2 calls from 2 friends asking for advice for their cars. One suffered a minor hit & run while the other wrap his 2 weeks old rims. The one that wrap his rims hit a litter on the road. He had gone back to the shop asking for replacement however they do not have the stock for a single rim or 4 of other design as it was a clearance sale when we purchased it 2 weeks ago. Now he can only find his new rims after CNY.... What I remember that almost every CNY, the junction at Yishun Ave 1 towards Mandai junction of Sembawang Road always have serious or fatal accident during the CNY period. Do you know of other junctions that alway have such cases during CNY?
  7. 2nd time encounter you on the morning peak hours on KPE and then PIE toward Jurong. You cannot stand any vehicles overtaking your orange VAN. If they cut into your lane, you will swerve immediately to the left/right to overtake them back. No qalms about speeding unto road dividers/shoulders/lane 1 in order to do so. Constantly swerving from lanes to lanes without considering the safety of others. On the short journey exiting KPE to PIE jurong and before I exited shortly at Stevens Road, I have seen so many cars totally frustrated with your antics. Please note that I have personally reported this matter to the traffic authorities and I hope that they catch a personal glimpse of what a menace you are to other roadusers. Although I do not have recorder on board yet (but seriously considering to do so cos of hell drivers like your good self), I have pleased to note that your antics are also caught on video and loaded unto Youtube. I have provided the authorities with the links. Pls consider your actions carefully. Regards

  9. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...wooden_bat.html Damn agressive .... man. Good thing the whole process was caught on camera. Just wondering whether the police will take action against the tatoo man .... have to siam him should i meet him on the road.
  10. Habit 1: Speed up to cheong red lights Habit 2: Move off before lights turn green When 1 and 2 (literally) meet, it becomes a serious accident. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out but a lot of motoring goondus continue to do it. Seriously, how much faster can one reach home by inching forward at the red lights? Another observation is that lane discipline has deteriorated. More and more drivers can't take a curve without encroaching into another lane. Best is they inadvertently switch lanes while turning and still have the audacity to horn.
  11. This joker really scare the living daylights of everyone, motorists and pedestrians alike : http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg..._to_others.html STOMPer Veron spotted this lorry, overloaded with junk travelling dangerously on Jurong West Ave 4. Said the STOMPer: "This lorry was seen loading lots of stuff and it was clearly over its height. "Many other vehicles had to keep a real safe distance away from it."
  12. Wanted to post this on Monday morning but need to meet my minimum post. Most drivers would have witnessed and encountered too often of a rude, selfish, road hogging, road bully, reckless and dangerous driver on our roads. Should you wish more can be done by our authority/traffic police? Witnessed and encountered yet another such driver last night (Sun 29Aug10) on ECP around East Coast area. The black/silver too tone color car (looks like a Honda Jazz/Fit?) with big "SPOON" sticker on the back windscreen. The driver was very selfish , road hogging (on lane1), refuse to let others to overtake, not signal correctly , jam break deliberately several occasions on lane1 and try to crash other vehicle by deliberately going into other vehicle lane (see video here of SGB658xT and judge for yourself). After i managed to overtake this reckless driver, the driver immediately changed several lanes fast and dangerously in fornt of other cars and headed to the next available exit on left. Maybe scare others may do the same to him or report his action . Hope the authority/traffic police (TP) quickly take necessary actions to this driver and/or charge driver with dangerous driving and road bully. So to the driver or who know this driver please tell him TP will soon sent him a letter soon It's about time we all act more to action/voice our concerns to TP and stop such reckless driver behaviors so as to have a safer road for us and our family to travel on. With so many car accidents on our roads and spiral insurance premium costs every year, i hope we can all do something as a community and just keep sending evidence like this to TP. Q: What actions should Traffic Police do to this driver? Q: What can we do to have these dangerous drivers off our road? You comments and valid suggestions are welcome. Cheers and be safe on our roads.
  13. I have a friend who work in the hospital who told me this incidient of a 21 year old who is paralyzed due to major injury to the spine. He is relaying on a machine to stay alive. He cant talk, he cant move ...poor parents only can stare as he look back, being the only son they are very unwilling to unplung him from the machine , still hoping for a glimpse of hope for him to recover. Previously he was involved in an accident as he was flung aside when a lorry hitted him from behind. His parents had stopped him from getting M/Bike licence as they know , he will definitely get a bike after gottn his licence. They had advice him to go for car licence and willing to sponser him 50/50 when it comes to getting a car. He refused. Very typical case of teenager wanting to own his own transport after getting licence. I have previously chatted with a few friends who own bikes for the reason why they choose it to be their source of transport and not a car???? Upon collation of the given reasons, the only reasonable and most logic reason given is "CHEAP" transport. I mean isnt ones life worth the money spent for a car???? Seeing bikers riding in the rain also have me thinking. No matter kana bang or you bang against anything, the damage done will be far more disastrous . Perhaps fellow road users here esp bikers can share with me why they choose to travel in a bike , having risk every ounce of their lifespan within the range of the lion's mouth ?????? One think for sure, I will never allow my daugther or son to own a bike. Unless he/she has a very strong reason of convincing me. I doubt so.....

  18. Below article from Channelnewsasia affrims the prevaling Die Hard Habits of motorists on our roads to date. I think driving licenses are too easily acuired these days as compared to the past, and possibly bad influences from the internet as well as movies depicting glamorous driving stunts like Drifting etc. What should be done to curb such dangerous and inconsiderate driving habits? >> Higher penalties? >> Revocation of License? >> Re-education? >> Revise the Qualifying Factors in Attaining a License? ================================================ Driving over speed limit, beating amber lights top dangerous driving habits By Zhang Tingjun, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 09 June 2009 1836 hrs SINGAPORE : A nationwide road safety survey has revealed that Singapore drivers are less inclined to signal when switching lanes or overtaking, but are more careful when it comes to drinking and driving than European motorists. The month-long survey by AXA Insurance was conducted with more than 500 Singapore drivers, made up of private car owners and taxi drivers. The survey showed that 60 per cent admitted to committing at least one dangerous driving practice. Driving at more than 10 kilometres per hour over the speed limit and beating an amber light topped the list. Drivers were more prudent, however, when it came to drink driving, with 24 per cent saying they do not drink at all before taking the wheel. When asked what would deter them from dangerous driving practices, the top three reasons cited pertained to law enforcement. Personal safety came in fourth, and the safety of others fifth. Another notable finding was that the only dangerous driving behaviour that women are more likely to engage in than men is answering the phone without a hands-free kit or text messaging while driving. Drivers who were married with young children were also found to be more likely to engage in unsafe driving practices compared to those married with older children. Younger motorists between 18 and 34 years of age were also found to be less likely to perceive a breach of safety rules as dangerous driving compared to motorists aged 35 and above. According to AXA, the most surprising finding, however, was that over 75% of those surveyed gave the wrong answer to the question "What is the speed limit on normal roads?" Some did not know, whereas others guessed 60, 50 or 30 kilometres per hour. The correct answer is 50 kilometres per hour. AXA said that going over the speed limit is not only dangerous, it can also be costly when it comes to filing claims. Henri Gurs, CEO, AXA Insurance Singapore, said: "Between an accident at 50 km/h or an accident at 70 km/h, the damages will be more than doubled." According to AXA, accident claims have risen from 13 to 16 per cent over the past four years. - CNA/ms
  19. Was forming up on the second lane for going straight (also can turn right) when this m/cycle suddenly cuts into my lane to turn right. Lucky my car was slow....good to have cam!.....
  20. Most ppl come across many different types of ppl in their life and on web sites. There are always signs ( even if these are not shown early) in most instances that you are dealing with a 'dangerous person ' Examples are : 1) complainers 2) boasting about their own wealth or accomplishments. 4) telling the whole world that they got a new toy 5) nothing better to do type of ppl 6) asking stupid or silly questions 7) having a large ego and getting flamed for it 8) attempting to advertise or seemingly trying to 'recommend a good source' out of 'goodwill' 9) Sticking to their views although many already said otherwise. 10) picking on a particular race of ppl and attempting to highlight their flaw. The above list is NOT exhaustive and I'm sure dangerous ppl come in both sexes, all shapes and sizes and as well as those who are not so clearly defined in their gener.
  21. Time: Around 8.00pm Location: Commonwealth Ave West towards Holland Direction Encounter: Honda Oddessy with 2 aunty passenger Was sending my wife back from dinner driving along Commonwealth Ave West coming down from Clementi, just after i entered into the Dover sector after the cross junction, this driver driving Honda Oddessy (SFK60*7*) came out cutting into my lane just after filtering out from clementi Rd (from Sunset way). He didn't care/see whether my car is coming from behind, at the filter lane, he should have stop to see approaching cars, instead he drove down the filter lane straight away cutting into the 2nd/center lane where my car was already approaching. I started to horn thinking that most probably he will be cutting into my lane...it happened to fast, not enough time to jam brakes, i swerve to the 1st lane almost hitting/brushing his back, luckily there isn't any car in the first lane. Seconds after driving pass his car along that stretch of road, he horned back at me and non-stop high beaming...i ignored him and maintained my cruising speed. i was about 8 car length away from him, remembered that he was quite far behind looking at the rear mirror... was still high beaming me... BueTaHan[shakehead]. I ignored then continued to drive, until he caught up with me along Dover Rd traffic light. It was red light ahead, i slowed down still in center lane, he drove pass me in the 1st lane while i'm slowing down. As the traffic light turns green, i started accelerating, the CRAZY waited for me driving at a slower speed in the first lane, when i was about to pass him, he swerve his whole car with 2 passengers inside to the left, i was shocked and stunned. Luckily i reacted fast enough to turn my car away from him. SIAO! I was damn pissed off. ] I drove behind his car don't want to get into any accident. Ahead was another traffic light along the Bouna Vista Mrt, i switched to the 3rd lane as i needed to make a left turn in front after the traffic lights, as i was driving to towards the traffic light, he slowed down again... i'm worried that he will do the same stunt again. Guess what, he swerve his car to my lane and JAM Brakes this time round. I forsee that he will do it again, i was prepared, JAM my brakes and screeching of my tyres was heard. f**king Hell ! After that i released my seat belt, put on hazard lights, open my door wanting to go down and the guy upside down. After that saw the green man was going to turn red in a few seconds. Changed my decision closed my door and continued driving, Highbeam him all the way till i make my left turn. Damn Pissed off! What are you trying to do? This is not bumper car! Seems like he don't mind getting involved in accident. Damn Dangerous!
  22. Hi Guys, Just wanna share another interesting sighting or experience today. Riding bike as usual with spouse behind to drop her off at bus stop in the morning & up behind came another middle aged rider riding Super Four who scared the daylight outta me. Swooshed past at high speed just inches besides, squeezing thru a vehicle infront of me and switching lane (w/o signal too! gosh!). Naturally w/o knowing y, I pressed my horn & he actually slowed down (esp when he's already in another lane? Y?) to give me the look & gesture,"hey what's wrong, mate?!" Sighed, cant bother trying to explain with all the hand or sign languages as that will become "chicken & duck" kinda game (he's gonna think he did nothing wrong whereas I will see that as pretty dangerous or even reckless and inconsiderate to another fellow biker). So I waved him to proceed on with his journey but what prompts me is just how some ppl will react even thou they are in a disadvantage situation with such reckless behaviour. I admit there are times all riders ride pretty fast and I m guilty of being fast too sometimes. But Goodness! I cant imagine he survive this long with his riding stunts skills. Nevertheless God make the world interesting with ppl like him, dun ya think so? Cheers!
