  2. Hello fellas, I'm currently thinking of replacing my aging air-conditioning system at home, and am wondering if any kind (and hopefully experienced!) souls here know of any air-conditioning installer/dealers who can do a good job with the installation of the central unit, secondary units, piping, etc? Cost is secondary to workmanship although it would be nice to find a honest and reliable tradesman that charges reasonable prices as well. Advice on what brand/models that are cost-effective and reliable will also be appreciated, am currently undecided on inverter or non-inverter systems as I figure the cost-and-energy savings from the inverter system will take a really long period of time to reach the price differential on a non-inverter unit, by then which I would be looking to replace my air conditioning system again. Thanks in advance, and have a good week ahead everybody.
  3. I booked a used vehicle(non-passenger) in early august @ 55K from a reputable dealer. vehicle age is under 3yrs. despite higher than normal interest rate, i agreed to the deal cause it's something that I need for business use. now after about 1month+ later, dealer called said unable to get loan at decent amount, only able to get 30k MAX. There is NO way I'm able to fork out 20k cash and the dealer is asking me to find my own loan. Although I check a few finance company but without a bank giving approval, finance company not loaning. In this case, I like to check with fellow motorists here, what are the choices do I have?? I going to ask my deposit back if they die die cannot get loan in the range of 50k.. Do I have a case against them?? Since they can't secure a loan for me but during the neg time, they say No PROBLEM... they work with Hong Leong, DBS, UOB, many many banks... help needed.. thanks
  4. Hi all, Just curious, have any of you done a swap of car with 2nd hand car dealer before? Since some of you suggested that I looked at a used car, I was thinking how does the mechanic works in this case. Assuming your relatively new car price is almost at par with the used car that you want to take, what is the normal price to pay to the dealer? As I've seen in other threads that a 2nd car dealer typically earned 5K in a sales transaction. Any other advice? Thank you very much. Regards,
  5. SORRY I MEANT 2ND HAND DEALER http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...854&DL=1232 with the current market.. lets say the PQP is $9k... they are having a body value of a 18yr old car at $14k!!! [knife]
  6. my company need to sell off 3 company cars, anyone can help to adv any good and reliable 2nd car dealer?
  7. Happy New Year to the bros here! May 2009 be a better year for everyone! 2008 was a testing time for me as with the recent economical downturn and had to search to do some other businesses besides what I did before (that is why have been away from the forum for sometime.) But still driving the same power booster Skoda Superb. Recently my company, we became an Authorized Dealer for Garmin range of GPS products, warranty is covered by Garmin factory, unlike the PI models when there is a warranty issue the person is charged SG$120 for repairs. I have the complete range if you are looking for a unit. Hope you can support, well wishes to the family! Thanks for reading, Shane
  8. How can business be bad for car dealers? The total amount of cars sold by dealer per month can only be as much as the COE allocation no more and no less( unless coe undersubcribed) . Now the COE is trading around the 5k range, I am sure the dealers still make about the same margin? In fact the dealers like the coe to yoyo, cos they sell us a car+ coe package & when it crashes NOBODYl will give us the full rebate back anyway. So I think car dealers still ho seng lee? Btw if u think 5k coe is cheap, it will get cheaper!
  9. I was looking at a car price around S$90K with a loan of about S$36k. The dealer quoted a price of around S$40k for my Dec 2006 Picnic Deluxe as of 31/12/08. At sgmark & newspaper most of the sellers are asking more than S$55K. At BM a new Picnic is quoted at about S$75k. My total export rebate is 20379+11513 = S$31,892. Is the dealer trade-in price of S$40k way too low ?
  10. I had always come across Japanese Scrap Parts dealers commonly known as scrap yards usually located in Kranji or Woodland industrial Park E. They only have Japanese car parts. Anyone come across a scrap yard that deals with Korean Cars Parts?
  11. I saw the thread on "Guide on buying from PI" so I thought it might be good to know about the buying processes and DOs and Don'ts for buying a used car too. Frankly, I've not bought a used car from a second hand car dealer but I'm sure there are still good buys in the used cars market as we all know the first hand owner already stomach the huge chuck of the depreciation in the first few years. For those experienced one, please feel free to share your experience, feedback and to give advice. Thank you very much. Regards,
  12. Have you guys notice that in SgCarMart, most Direct Owner is asking higher price for their car as compared to dealers? In fact we always think dealer is asking for high price and tend to look to deal with direct owner. Buying from Dealer has some advantage which commands a premium. They touch up the car, can offer to take in your used car, do the admin for you (sometimes at a fee), arrange for loan, insurance and transfer. You can also view other cars in the dealer shop. But buying Direct from Owner, we have to sell our own car by ourselves, arrange loan by ourselves. More trouble. I think Direct Owner should be asking for a price in between what Dealer is offering them and Dealer selling price. Then there is benefit from dealing with Direct Owner. What you guys think?

    Dishonest Dealer

ok.. just wanna share...please be careful of these 2nd hand dealers.. last month..my car got into an accident that i decided not to repair but just scrap.. so naturally i would be looking for a car.. between new or used.. i decided to get a used one instead... the price is better compared to new as the bulk of depreciation being thrown on the new owner.. so i began scouting.. found a aveo5 that seems really good. sony mp3 w/6disc changer, solar film and leather seat. den i realised the seller is the same one as the one that selled me my old car.. gave him a call and arrange for a meeting at his showroom. upon arriving the next day, realised i was able to shop in peace as there wasnt anyone in the place.. as the price was very good, i began checking whether there was any signs of accident. nothing seems to be wrong except a small dent near the passenger door. ok fine. i ask him whether or not he will fix it. he agreed. swee.. now is checking the interior and the comfort of the cabin. first noticed all that he mentioned in the ad is not present! No sony mp3 with changer headunit, no solar film except factory tint which of course is damn light, no leather just the standard fabric. so asked him! eh.. dont have wadeva u mentioned in the ad leh! he swee swee agree, i will tint for u, fixed up a sony mp3, and also the leather. he still asked me wad colour i wanna put. den came the part where the docus are being process. i asked him how long will he take to tow my old car to scrap yard. he said once the loan approved he will tow away... loan will take 3 days max! swee.. cauz i cant possibly leave the car in my mech's place for too long also... paiseh mahz.. after 3 days i called him.. eh how!? loan??? he say no news leh.. nvm... i patiently wait and wait.. 5 days i called.. same answer... 7 days called again.. same answer given.. finally afetr nine days he called.. eh.. your loan hoseh liao! i can give u the car tmr.. i asked how? fix liao anot? the dent the HU, solar film and seats..solar film and all tmr i do for u! den said seats we must 50-50.. i was like wtf! eh siao eh u agreed de hor! den he came of stupid excuses say wad the loan money not enough to cover his profit... i said ok. nvm.. market price is $800. u drop in $500 back to me.. next day came.. went down late around 8plus cuz delayed by work. he parked the car at a super dark spot. so checked the car. ok dent fixed. but wtf! sony mp3 become panasonic!kNn! i asked eh siao eh! u not honest lehz! say sony now panasonic! u know how much diff anot!? den siao eh.. u say got solar film liao, u gonna coat it to be the standard legal! he sian 1/2 lot tio spot liao.. told me to go his friend's place.. and do under his account. called and went down on a saturday morning.. reach his place and the fellow tell me 2hrs later come back...only do 4 doors! knn where got do solar film do 4 dorrs nia! around 1hr later called me say sorry wor boss.. tdy cannot tmr. so tmr morning called hp off! now i super hot liao. called the agent fark until he agreed on solar filming the whole door.. so on monday which is few days ago.. went down again wasted 4hrs... finally tinted the whole car. so... please be careful make sure those peeps get your whole car done up before u collect... best is got black and white to double confirm.. just in case u all are curious who this dealer is... the name is similar to one of the super big organizations in sg.. somewhere in the entertainment line.. wanna know the name... gimme a pm. ps. sorry if my story is too long winded...
  14. any name/contact so that i can check the tyre price for my Suv. I know Autobac has but want to check the street price.
  15. I just sold my old car to a 2nd hand car dealer. The car is still with me and will transfer to him in about 2 weeks time. He has given me $1K deposits and I have banked in. The price he offered is actually close to $1K more than what the AD can offer me for trading in. Everything seems fine and smooth except... there is a finance form he said I am supposed to sign in order for him to check with the bank regarding my bank loan. After I signed on the line, he asked me to sign again on a blank portion a distance away from my first signature. The form was only printed on half of the paper with the other half empty. So he got me to sign again on the empty portion of the paper, saying the bank required it for verification on the first signature. I did what he told me without 2nd thot, but now i realised this is not really right. Will he make use of my 2nd signature on the empty part of the paper to work things out to trick me into some hefty loan or smtg like that? Does anyone who has this experience when selling his car? I intend to call the bank to verify if this is a standard practice, and will go into his office next week without calling him to catch him by surprise to demand an explanation and to scribble off my 2nd signature...i hope I will not be too late....

  17. Browse and found a black Latio (OPC) over the net which is selling at some reasonable price. Went down last Wednesday with some colleagues who offer to help look at the car and he manage to find repaint marks. On this day, one the sales person told me that the price of the car was $26500 with an interest rates of 2.68%. Then I told him that I would come over the weekend for a test drive. Come Saturday, I went over to Nissan showroom which is next to the car mart before meeting the sales person. Verified the area on a new car which my colleague said about the repaint spot and chat with the sales executives to find out current price and promotions. While at the car mart, I was attended by the sales person whom I initially contacted and was told that the price given by his colleague the other day was wrong as it was too low. I highlighted to him that he made an advertisement in Sat's newspapers which printed $330 per month which he denied until I show him the ad with his phone number and he gracefully denied blaming the clerk for making the wrong print. Then he claims that the interest rates is also wrong and says UOB doesn't give out loans for OPC cars and he had to make the switch to other banks which interest rates is 2.98. The advertisement over the net highlighted the low interest rates of 2.68. I showed him the repaint spot which is a strip on the lid of the boot and he quickly claims that black car owners are known to repaint their cars due to watermarks. I left the place with some disappointment and anger and plan to buy from someone else instead.
  18. Just a follow up from my previous other thread... Any good honest 2nd hand car dealer to recommend? Need in-house financing too. not for me, but for my friend. No commission for me, just helping out my friends in-need of car. Thanks
  19. I wonder is it safe to leave our car at car dealer (trade assist) for selling? I mean are they trustworthy? Willl they do anything funny to our ride?
  20. My friend, middle age lowly educated husband and wife, wanted to change their car. Husband saw an ads in paper and call them. Husband is driving an old car registered under friend's name for pass 4yrs and have left one more term to clear the loan, because friend got medical condition and unable to pay the car loan. Out of goodwill, my friend tookover the car and use. So husband went to this shop in the east to enquire. Dealer offer a 1991 HOnda civic ESI4M for $12400. With in house finance, payment $300 for 3.5yrs...where the car COE expire. Husband and wife dunno anything and agreed. Husband passed the current old car to dealer with his friend IC and signature for transfer and clearing of last repayment term of loan. Then only wife called me and ask my opinion. I said far too expensive for that car.... I check a few dealer offering about $10k-$11k....and I ask what is the interest rate they are charging. Both husband and wife dunno. So I call the dealer...dealer won't review and ask me come down along with them and chat. Apparently wife already sign on document for getting loan as "guarantor" and need my help to be the "hirer". Dealer said this is because wife was discharged BK and chances of getting it is very slim. I am not sure about the condition and ask dealer thru the phone what is it about. DEaler dun wanna say anything just ask me go down meet him and he will explain. When we went down to the shop the same day. Dealer explained to me. Said need me be the "hirer" of the car and registered under my name and my friend as guarantor. If anything happen, he will go for the guarantor. I think the dealer also think I'm also one of them easy to "eat". I ask him if I'm the "hirer" or "borrower", of course if something happen u will look for me first, right? He change subject. My friend then only knows that they need to register under my name for the car which they also won't agree too. They dun wanna bring trouble to me as well. Then I refuse and I ask them not to buy the car from them cos I can sense from they language they r not honest ppl. So my friend said he dun wanna buy the car, instead just scrap the old car. From then onwards, the dealer facial expression and language change totally to the common "pai kia" u can find anywhere in Spore. He refuse to let go of the old car n said they had already setttled it with the current finance and already transfered name. Mind u, the COE rebate for the car still ahve 0.3 x $16666 excluding car value. Dealer said they will not give back anything to them. This one we can't fight for it cos my friend did a stupid thing by transfering the car ownership to the dealer already. I asked my friend forget it and let the original owner settle with them. The 4yrs loan ($600 monthly) you have paid just take it that u have fully make used of the car. Then we walk away. The next day, dealer called my friend trying to persuade him to get the car and said now can use his wife's name as main applicator for the loan.... I was like...what the heck... first u said cannot, now u said can... but I think it's too late...see this kind of attitude and behavior still dares to get the loan and car from him ah?? Then I remember my friend's wife had sign the loan application form as guarantor and leave everything blank because they at first thought I would be the "hirer" to fill in my particulars, with her photostated IC. I ask her better get back the form else if not they use the form for other ppl to apply the loan and u already signed as guarantor. Husband afraid to talk to them anymore cos they even threathen them that they will sue my friend. I ask my friend what wrong have they done to be sued??? The dealer had taken my friend, as uneducated ppl for advantage. Now they afraid whether will them pass back all the signed document form to them or not. If not, I ask them better go lodge police report, in case anything happen.
  21. hello bros, Is it true that exporter can take in our car for higher price than selling to dealer?
  22. Hi all, can advise on how much can one negotiate on the published car price in SG Carmart from the 2nd Hand Car Dealer. Dun wish to get them pissed off at making ridculous offer but at the same dun want to get chop "Carrot". Example price as $61,000. Is 5k off the price too much to ask for? Thanks.
