Was planning an exotic family vacation this coming december but was thwarted by mis-timing. So it's back to our good old Northern neighbour. The unavoidable monsoon means beaches are off-limit. That leaves mountains, fabulous eating haunts and maybe some in-land sightseeing. This has been asked before, but I thought no harm asking again. Any interesting suggestions? PS: At least I get to drive, which I much prefer to flying.

Hi all, December COE is motivated by a few reasons: 1) Many people rushing to buy cheap cars, thinking can get $2 COE 2) Possible cut to quota after petition (Straits Times Snr Correspondent: Too many cars getting registered and too little being taken off the road - congestion, accident issues) but negated by the following: 1) few credit loans 2) gloomy financial outlook hence A) what is your guess COE next round (Dec) will be? Esp for CAT A cars? i also got a couple of personal questions: 1) I bought my axio for $54k, guaranteed bid ($10k), ZERO rebates (SIGH!), my 4 year matrix traded in for $27k My PI has not yet bought a COE for us, tho its been 1.5 months already, I should thank high heavens for that, right? Because mine is no rebate, if i kena $2 COE, next time i can't sell for nuts tho i paid so much? 2) Does my PI have a vested interest in not bidding for my COE in the current months also? Because now my matrix probably worth much lower now? 3) Should I wait till COE rise back to 10k then pressure my PI to bid for my COE or should I do it now? (given COE gonna hover about 5k?) Thanks!

Hi guys, Just a heads up. Update to the road trip to kl/genting/penang/krabi/phuket in december. Tentative date: 22nd - 1st jan (or before). So far, there are 1 wrx (joining us to penang/1 couple) 1 integra (1 couple) 3 rav4s (1 family, 2 couples) 1 rented car (probably odyssey, few horny guys) Total toll - Approx SGD100 per car (divide by passengers) Total Petrol - Approx SGD120 - SGD160 (divide by passengers) (total distance, abt 2200-2500km) We are intending to stay 1 night in genting, 1/2 nights in penang, 2 nights in krabi, phuket and then head back. Some may stay in resorts, some may stay in budget hotels depending. Those that wish to join us halfway, please let me know, not an issue.

For those who are interested, Autotomorrow, the distro of Genesis line of car audio equipment is arranging a meetup on the 17th of December 7.30-9.00 pm for car audio enthusiasts to bio the most recent IASCA (Malaysia) Champion's car as well as the 1st prize winner of the recent Pioneer 5.1 Sound challenge, venue is at 27 Ubi Road Celestica Building, 04-0/02. The new, sporty Saab 9-2X continues Saab's biggest-ever product offensive by taking the Swedish manufacturer into a new market segment with a fresh expression of Saab's traditional reputation for combining fun-to-drive enjoyment and smart versatility. Positioned below the 9-3 Sport Sedan in size, the 9-2X is the first production Saab to have all-wheel drive and will offer excellent driving dynamics, in addition to turbo performance and hatchback practicality. Two versions will be available, both with five-door bodystyles and all-wheel-drive as standard. The entry level Saab 9-2X will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine and the top Aero model will feature a 227 bhp, 2.0-liter turbo unit. Its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the US was confirmed today at the Tokyo Motor Show by Peter Augustsson, President and CEO of Saab Automobile AB.
