  2. Thinking of doing PPS. Too many choices on MCF and too much price war going on. Looked around a few companies. I'm considering doing PPS for my Alfa with them but not sure if spending a few hundred on coating is worth it. Genuine feedbacks please on Groomers Lab or other recommended groomers will be appreciated.

  7. Usually after my car detailing, it would be night and surrounding low lights makes it quite impossible to perform a good paintwork inspection? Any suggestions and link to images would be helpful ! Also cost sensitive ! Thanks.
  8. As topic, anyone have any good details products, method to give the exterior rubber/plastic on exterior, like the door seals, the black plastic holding the side mirror & the black plastic at the B pillars a glossy feel. I tried those for interior plastic, but it worn out fast, & burry after rain. Some of these are getting dull & got white-ish powdery look liao.
  9. Hi anyonem anyone knows what is the difference od these 2 and which can help protect paint better? Tks all.

  11. Hi guys, Just like to share I have hit a new personal record for detailing my car, in just an hour. Here's what I done: - Rinse my car - Wash my car with car shampoo and clay it at the same time - Wash my rims with wheel cleaner - Rinse my car - Dry my car using a waffle weave, about 70% dry, 30% wet - Apply JW Prime whole car (using a wet soft sponge) - Buff it away - Apply Clearkote carnuba moose wax (wet applicator), wipe on and wipe off Everything done in just an hour =) Every steps were done in high speed. Would probably be 15 mins faster if I not for the fact my rims had stubborn stains on them. Who say you have no time to detail your car? =D But end of it, body damn weak and perfect for a nap.
  12. Is the paint available in Singapore ........... Yahoo news: Nissan tests self-cleaning paint that could make car washes obsolete During this vile, never-ending winter, motorists had three options to keep their cars clean: Shell out on regular car washes; slave away in the cold, wind and snow washing it yourself, or screw it and just drive a dirty car. I, like many, chose the last option. But if only I'd been able to test Nissan's self-cleaning car, all my troubles would have washed away. Nissan revealed today that it's testing a super-hydrophobic and oleophobic paint, impervious to water and oils. The technology, sold by UltraTech under the name of Ultra-Ever Dry, is in prototype form as applied by the carmaker's European engineers on a Nissan Note. In many ways, it works like Rain X (where the solution's polymers react with pores in the windshield glass to create a barrier that repels precipitation). Ultra-Ever dry creates a layer of air between the paint and environment; when mud, dirt or oils touch the surface, it rolls off leaving a clean, streak-free appearance. Water-resistant coatings aren't new, and Nissan has offered a self-healing product (Scratch Shield) on its cars for years. Researchers at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have been developing a surface coating that not only repels precipitation like Rain X, but combines the self-healing aspects of Scratch Shield. In 2012, those same researchers expected to be six to eight years away from a production-ready product. The paint being tested by Nissan is ready for production, and as you can see in the images and video, it appears to do its job as intended. No plans are being made to include the paint as standard on future Nissan vehicles; however, the Japanese automaker says it might sell the technology as an add-on — or perhaps as the ultimate in special dealer-pitched coatings. The cost of the paint has not been revealed – or how long its repellant features lasts before needing a re-coat (Scratch Shield lasts around 3 years). Something so simple makes you wonder why we aren't already driving self-cleaning cars. Nissan looks set to make that vision a reality. After this winter, my wife will be thrilled. 14. some how, due to the recent cold weather and the fact that i did not use the car often (some times not driven for a week), all the seats in the car has this white mold or fungi which causes a stench. can anyone recommend a good workshop to detail the car to solve the stench problem. The seats are leather. The mold grew within the leather pores, that is why normal wiping wouldn't help. Thanks.
  15. I noticed there's no showroom to share some of the hard work detailer's here go through. Care to post some before, during, after pictures of your work and products used? NB: Please don't use this to market other people's/groomers work. Anyone wish to start?

  21. Hi Guys, Another package came from good ol' USA with some stuff from Optimum and Carpro. 1st up is Optimum Hyper Polish which is a spray polish. Its around the consistent of the old formula of M205 from Meguiars, maybe even a tad thicker. But has no problems using the Meguiars chemical resistant spray head. The solution is slightly on the oily side and rather difficult to remove from the pad compared to things like IP or M205, i usually use APC to remove the excess OHP. I will update with pictures soon. Tried it on a Sirocco with the combo of LC orange hydrotech pads + makita, since its just a clean up and not any kind of paint correction. Working time is endless like most Optimum polish which i love. But the level of cut I would rate it slightly below M205. It removed around 50% of the lighter swirls on the car. I will try to find some 50/50 photos if possible. Removal have to wipe a couple of times if not it would just smudge. Its my current go to 1 stepper at the moment before i actually convince myself to go the Meguiars DA microfiber system, looks impressive so far. Pics up soon!
  22. Hi guys, Recently been reading quite a lot on detailing of engine bay. Mine is about 5yrs old, also thinking wanna do some DIY cleaning. I have 1 section which i still not clear on, which is the dressing portion. Is there anything which is a universal dresser like the hyper dressing meguairs in our Singapore market? Or rather, what do you guys use to dress your engine bay? Would appreciate any assistance.
