  2. Very often, I see the pro detailers showcasing their mirror-shine work on black cars only. I agree that black cars will produce the best results when well detailed. But what about other colours? Are they less likely to produce the high gloss as compared to black colour? I am asking this because I have yet to see that mirror shine on other colours. My ride is in gun metal but no matter how I detail it, I can never see that crisp reflection as those of black cars. In fact, I have yet to see such results on other colours like silver, champagne gold. All comments are welcomed

  4. After breakfast, i started work on my car. 1) Wash and Claybar 2) JW Prime 3) JW acrylic trigger 4) JW acrylic Gloss 5) Autoglym bumper care 6) Armourall tyre shine gel 7) Autoglym glass polish
  5. For convenience of having your car polished while you shop, some of you may have used the service above. I am keen to find out your experience with them. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Hi brothers, I have some questions in my mind and I hope to be able to get some advice from you all. I'm giving up on the Armourall Chamios to dry my Jazz. Instead, I will use it to clean the bottom sides of the car and rims if necessary. Also, I'm going to make some purchase from Detailogy - namely their Waffle weave drying towel and their Detailogy Sheepskin Mitten. Regarding the WWMF Drying Towel, I'm not sure if I should get the 16 by 24 or the 25 by 36 inch. The former cost $25.20 while the bigger one will cost $37. Will the smaller one be sufficient for drying my Honda Jazz? What is the best way of using the WWMF anyway? By using a chamios first, then final drying using WWMF, or using WWMF all the way from wet to dry surface. I am worried that once the WWMF is soaked with water, after squeezing out the water, will it be able to absorb lots of water and give a dry surface again on other parts of the car. Or a dry area is needed for throuogh drying. If it is able to squeeze and reuse, I guess the smaller one will be fine. I thought of getting some normal microfibre cloths to clean the windows too. Probably from Daiso, 2 bucks. Cheap. Mainly to use it with Autoglym Glass Polish. :) Will it harm the external window or the tinted windows?
  7. just want to vent a gripe with my efforts at detailing... well i have lots of products, and i think i'm doing my best as far as hand-polishing goes. my usual retinue includes : 1. wash weekly (meguiars's nxt) 2. claybar (once every few months) 3. AIO (once every few months) 4. klasse SG (once every few months) 5. menzerna HGAS (alternate weeks) and still, after 1 week from my last top up of AIO/SG, give it a couple of rains, the sleekness is gone and water marks (cannot be wiped off without using filler or scratchX) can be found... am i expecting too much? shouldn't we deserve more from our hours spent pampering the car? come on, admit it... you wish your detailing efforts would just last a wee bit longer...
  8. Juz for curiousity. Was wondering which is the top used product currently here in the detailing forum.

    Detailing Orgy

This is a story of a detailing slut, who likes gangbang. He loves detailing so much, that he did 8 cars in 1 day. Using his trusty vibraaaating DA and his assorted cum-stained pads, he set out to conquer all swirls, scratches and ice cream marks.
  15. i've got my car for 1 year 2 months already and yesterday was the first time i ever had a detailing session with my car with the help of another forumer. yes, i'm new to detailing. usually i only wash my car once a week and one in a while will wax it... but yesterday was different. the paintwork of my car probably suffered a bit during the 1 year. anyway, here's the result.
  16. The last detailing session was done before CNY, been a few months and some swirls + stains inevitably found their way onto the paint. Been maintaining it with OCW after weekly washes. Process 1) Rinse + Optimum car wash 2) Menzerna PO106FF + polishing pad @ speed 5 3) CarLack68 Nano + polishing pad @ speed 5 (left to cure for 6hrs after wiping off) 4) Meguiars #16 Professional Paste Wax + finishing pad @ speed 4 5) Meguairs #40 for interior trim, trim detailer for exterior and endurance tyre gel for tyres 6) Meguairs APC and trim detailer for engine bay
  17. Hi bros and sis, May I know where are the best places to buy detailing products? I shopped at HomeFix, but got a feeling their prices are not good? I want to learn detailing for my new ride. Cheers.
  18. Hi guys, have been following this thread for a while and learning everyday when I log in. Just out of curiosity, are there any detailing meetups where all the guys meetup at some place to wash, clay, polish, wax their rides together? Wouldn't it be great if all the detailing enthusiasts hand around together even for kopi?
  19. Just bought the JW from Gen2. Intend to use them on Monday. What's missing in the picutre is the claybar, which I'll be getting tomorrow. Clockwise from left: JW Prime + AJ, Menzerna wheel shine, 3M leather cleaner, Menzerna HGAS, Meg's NXT car wash, detailing MF cloth, wash mitt, Turtle wheel scrub, Meg's applicator pad, leather chamois.
  20. Hello forummers, I have put up some of my used detailing products for sale. U can browse them at the following links. PM me if you are interested. By the way, these are good products and the reason I stopped using them are not because they are no good. Like the wheel cleaner, its tiring for me to use it because I have multi-spokes rims; so a spray cleaner would suit me better. I have experiment with a number of products, and these are just some of them. http://www.mycarforum.com/classifieds/classifieds.pl?id=3351 http://www.mycarforum.com/classifieds/classifieds.pl?id=3352 http://www.mycarforum.com/classifieds/classifieds.pl?id=3353 http://www.mycarforum.com/classifieds/classifieds.pl?id=3354
