  1. Well, I won't argue that there are plenty of sports cars out there with retractable roofs. However, among all those convertibles, the MX-5 (Miata) from Japanese automaker Mazda may be one in particular that you should put your eyes on. Not only does it offer hair winding fun, but there's actually more to it than you might possibly imagine. Well, here's some proof. Recently, Mazda U.K., in collaboration with some Frisbee freaks and pro stunt drivers, just made this video which I would say is pretty cool. Watch the video and I believe you will think playing Frisbee on a car is something you should try too. At a glance, what these people did in the video may seem impossible. However, they managed to pull it off - and with a huge success in my opinion. Although the Mazda MX-5 isn't the type of car you can really count on when it comes to speed, it does offer you a fun steering, braking, gear shifting, and suspension. As a result, it makes something as fun as throwing the Frisbee disk from the car in front such that it lands in the car behind possible and it's unimaginably fun. To top it off, it can all be done while drifting, too! Hehe, I think you may even get addicted to it over times. However, don't swallow my words for it in an instance. Go check out the action and the fun yourself in the video.
  2. Anyone knows if there is going to be one this yr? Can't find anything about it online and its strange as its been held for past 5 yrs without fail.
  3. Have you ever wondered why the 2012 FD Champion, Daigo Saito, can't be seen drifting his Achilles Radial Lexus SC430 at the moment? Well, it's because this professional Japanese drifter is currently busy with this Dodge Challenger, a muscle car from the country of Uncle Sam, at the Ebisu Circuit. But if you think this is just a normal American muscle car, well, think again. The said Dodge Challenger

  6. The jointly developed new sports coupe (86, FR-S and BRZ) from Toyota and Subaru has yet to arrive in the showrooms around the world. But some tuners have made specially designed units of the abovementioned cars. And the car you see above is just one example of it. Scion unveiled this specially made car at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show and it is named as the Scion Racing Greddy FR-S race car. This car was built by team crews from Scion Racing and Greddy. Greddy is a performance parts company that has worked with Toyota previously and has been involved in racing for over twenty years. The car has been tuned to produce 600bhp. It will be used in the 2012 US Formula Drift season and it will be driven by professional drift race car driver, Ken Gushi. Toyota did not reveal much about the car except that it has been lowered, stripped-out and fitted with a huge GT wing spoiler and racing bodykit. Surprisingly, the exhaust appears to be missing from the car and some believed that it is still under development. It is also known that Greddy is developing a custom road legal exhaust system for the road going sports coupe. In other news, Toyota will start selling the 86 and FR-S by spring of 2012 and it will be the first car to offer a connected infotainment audio system called BeSpoke, powered by Pioneer's Zypr. Toyota is organising a program known as the First 86. This program will pick eighty-six lucky people to be the first owners of the FR-S. They will receive the cars even before the model goes on sale to the general public. Photo credit: GT Spirit

    Meeting Daigo Saito

Having slept at 3am and getting up at 5.30am for my 7.10am flight in the morning, I arrived in Kuala Lumpur feeling stoned. After queueing at customs for nearly an hour, I made my way to Dataran Merdeka where Formula Drift Malaysia is being held this year. The pre-event press conference on Friday started at about 10.30am where some of the drivers were present to answer questions from the media and also share their thoughts on the upcoming weekend. After that there were photo taking opportunities where the drivers were made to hold up alphabets spelling out F-O-R-M-U-L-A D-R-I-F-T. Out of the international 40-driver participant list, there was one name ready to fly the Singapore flag high at Formula Drift Malaysia 2010 - Ivan Lim of Team Goodyear Spark Motorsports. Unfortunately, his car is still stuck in Thailand due to customs issues (which caused him to miss Formula Drift Thailand as well) so he cannot take part. He is here though, to help team-mates Charles Ng and Ryuji Miki with their cars. There are no other Singaporeans on the competitors' list. Formula Drift USA co-founder Ryan Sage then took some of the media for a track walk where he explained the clipping points. The track this time is a first of its kind for Formula Drift Asia, with all three clipping points as rear clipping points. Finally, I did two driver interviews - with Charles Ng and Daigo Saito - before calling it a day. Charles is a cool guy from Hong Kong, who competes in circuit racing as well. Currently based in the United States, he finished his Masters in Economics and was working in investment banking before he quit to race full-time this year. He completed the full season of Formula Drift USA this year and finished second-best rookie. As for Daigo Saito.. who doesn't know him? He's the 2008 D1GP champion! Gold-dyed hair with matching gold-dyed eyebrows, he's a strong and silent man of few words but with a style so unique that it speaks for himself without having to use his mouth. He cannot speak the English language, so his best buddy Robb helped with the translation. I was curious to know what his favourite food is - guess? He likes pasta and Indian curry. Since he has been here in Malaysia, he has been eating Indian curry for breakfast every day! I got his autograph! It's his first time in Malaysia and his first time at a Formula Drift event. I can't wait to see him drift!
  17. This event may interest some enthusiasts out there. http://www.flamezgraphics.com/Dexperience.html Basically three of the Formula Drift Singapore team drifters from Falken will be conducting a full day drift class for beginners.
