I think they made this video in response to another video of two guys doing 180km/hr on the expressway in a Suzuki Swift Sport. In my case, I would like to own a car and finance it with Grab driving, and also earn some side income. Currently doing self-sustaining investments, so don’t mind driving to burn all my spare time and also to ferry my family around. It is my hope that this thread can also guide new aspiring PHV drivers. Disclaimer: Lengthy post here Just touched down at Changi Airport terminal 1. Seems to have a few flights that touched down around the same time that caused a surge for Grab and Gojek. Been trying for roughly 10 minutes to get a grab but to no avail. *Fare shows $11* Finally we got a car from Gojek to pick up at T1 Arrival gate 9. *Fare is $14* This driver had been showing signs of weirdness when he picked us up. These are the questions he asked, Driver: 3 persons travelling? Us: Yes *light laughter* Driver: Welcome back to Singapore Us: Thank you Driver: Does that entitles me to a tip? Us: Awkward laughter Me: I can give you 5 stars rating Driver: 5 stars rating is of no use for Gojek, useful for Grab though Us: Well, different platform, sorry to hear about that. Driver: Grab surge is $21 for a trip to Tampines now, so it will be nice if you can leave me a tip. Do you mind? Normally I will suggest my clients to leave me a tip of $3 if they don’t mind. Do you mind? At this moment, I’m already kind of pissed. Having just arrived from a red-eye flight. It was silence and we ignored to whatever he was blabbering about. Can you believe it, he continued by asking us AGAIN, “Do you mind leaving me a tip?” Me: Yes I do mind *hoping that he will STFU* Of course he wouldn’t keep quiet and drive right. Guess what he said?! Driver: Well ok if you do mind, I guess I will have to drop you at the nearest bus stop. Me: Dude you serious?! Driver: Yes, because I asked if you mind tipping me and you said you mind. So do you mind me dropping you off here at the middle of the road? Me: You f*ing serious right now?! Driver: I don’t want to force you to tip me, so I will drop you off at the nearest drop off point and you can try using grab. Me: If you are so unhappy with the fare Gojek platform offers, why did you accept the job in the first place?! After picking up your passengers, here you are demanding a tip and kept comparing the benefits between both platforms (Grab & Gojek). If you are not happy with what Gojek offers you, then drive with Grab! Basically he cancelled the ride on route and dropped us off at a bus stop along the airport. (20 Airport boulevard). While we offload our bags and luggage, he got off the car and said everything is recorded. Me: Go ahead and bring the video to the police. Driver: Cause I know who really needs a ride now. Good luck my friends! What a night with a nutcase. PS: I’m not saying that I’m a saint here and trying to thrash someone or being difficult. Of course during the argument, there were fingers being exchanged (the most classic finger) and yes, the F word. -
A woman being a PUBIC nuisance on Middle Road. No, that's not a typo

You probably have seen a video that went viral recently about a woman removing her clothes in anger on Middle Road. She even went as far as pulling down her panties! If you haven’t, here’s the video courtesy of Roads.sg In the video, you can see a woman taking off her clothes in response to a man (a cab driver) walking away from her. She is believed to have done this to play the victim card and make false accusations that the cab driver was the one who did it to her. Crucial eye witness account An eye witness of the incident posted the video on Roads.sg According to the witness, he saw the lady kicking the cab. She then began chasing the cab driver, scratching, punching and going all bat shit crazy. The driver did not retaliate to her provocation. So what triggered this? There have been no reports (as of yet) as to what led to this behaviour, but theories are being thrown around on social media. Even I would be offended. At least give me $10 What happened in the end In a recent STOMP article posted earlier today, it’s been confirmed that the lady, a 31-year old woman was arrested for PUBLIC nuisance. Today is the 1st time I am so involved with an traffic accident (don't worry, I am not hit or affected in anyway). I just crossed the road, walking away from the T-junction between Boon Lay Way and Jurong West Central 2, when I heard a loud bang behind me. Turning around and I saw a Toyota Altis mounting the kerb and moving onto the walkway next to it. A few meters away on the extreme right lane of the road, a Honda Fit Hybrid came to a abrupt stop against the kerb, with fume coming out from it bonnet. I immediately headed towards the Altis, which was closer to me, to check out the occupant in it. The driver stepped out of his car, filled with white smoke from the airbags activation, and immediately seated on the walkway, appearing dazy. I asked if he is ok, whether he need any assistance, etc. By then, many onlookers started to crowd around the car, taking photos and kaypoing. I asked if anyone has called the police and all kept quiet. So I dialed 999 and report the accident to the officer on the phone (I will share the details later), and request for ambulance to be dispatch (as one foreign worker pointed out to me that the other driver might need assistance). After asking the onlookers to clear away from the driver, I ran cross road to check out the occupant of the Fit. The driver limped out of his car (again, it was filled with white smoke from the airbag activation) and half laying against the kerb, complaining of chest pain and breathing difficulty. I told him to try breathing in harder and that he should lie down if he is feeling really uncomfortable. I called 999 again, to update them the conditions of both drivers, and was told ambulance is on the way (that is fast, as everything happened within just ~2 min). By then, 2 foreign workers came forward to offer bottled water to the driver, which I stopped them, for medical reasons, but the driver still proceed to take a sip of it, before I manage to snatch it away, explaining to him of the medical implication (of get choked and such).

New rules set to be laid down next month stipulate that private-hire vehicle drivers must be Singapore citizens who are at least 30 years old. This comes amidst discussions between the National Taxi Association and National Private Hire Vehicles Associations. One of the key concerns prompting the proposed rule is the problem of youths taking to driving private-hire vehicles full-time. As of February 2019, there are 41,000 registered PHV drivers, of which 40 percent of them are under 40 years old. Over 6500 of them are below 30 years old. However, the data does not include non-registered PHV drivers who operate “hitch” services. Hitch drivers are allowed to only make 2 ride-sharing trips a day, however many are known to take on more rides across different ride-sharing operators. The NTA and NPHV are also in discussion about issues such as contracts between transport operators and drivers, drivers’ insurance and the issue of whether PHV can do roadside pick-ups. New saga! Cheapo rider take Gojek, according to her there's a route that can avoid ERP. When the driver ask which way, she says she don't know and then claims that driver is out to cheat her ERP money. Driver angry, drove to police station. She tries to record driver and accused him of driving recklessly. She says driver has no right to record her, even though she herself is trying to record the driver. She calls (presumably Gojek hotline) to report driver. They reach a place where there is a Malay policeman. She tried to exit the car but the car is auto locked, and shouts "kidnap!" Another bust up over parking space ... Singapore is really too stressful http://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2015/06/driver-allegedly-assaulted-over-dispute-of-parking-space/ An argument between two drivers over a parking space at a carpark ended up with a bruised face and a near-miss “accident” for one. The incident is said to had happened at carpark of Parkland Green, East Coast Park on 30 May (Saturday) around 6:10pm. Mr Yak was waiting for a parking lot after dropping off his wife and kids at the car park when a silver colored car came driving in against the flow of traffic. The car then parked in front of the space that Mr Yak was waiting for with his hazard light turned on. As a result, Mr Yak drove his car forward, in front of the silver colored car and wound down his car window to confront the driver. The driver in the silver colored car is said to be a middle-aged Caucasian, about 35 years old. And there were two kids seated at the back of the car. According to Mr Yak, the driver came down from his car and starting scolding him, “an idiot for being slow” resulting in an argument between the two. All of a sudden, the driver punched him through the car’s window and walked back to his car. The force of the punch was so great that it broke Mr Yak’s glasses and resulted in bleeding of his face. Despite being stunned from the punch, Mr Yak hurried down from his car and tried to take down the other car’s license plate number. “I came down from the car and tried to take down his car number. I stood in front of his car and he just stepped on the accelerator, trying to run me over while escaping.” said Mr Yak. He added, “Eyewitness told me his car plate was SGC9154K, but I am not 100%,” There was no video camera on his dashboard to record the incident. Mr Yak was subsequently treated at Changi Hospital for his injuries. Mr Yak recalled that there were some people around the area, as the car park was situated just in front of the Starbucks and St Marc cafe. He is, however, uncertain if there was any closed-circuit surveillance in the area as there was no electronic gantry at the carpark. He has since made a police report on his assault and beseech for eyewitness of the incident to come forward and give an account of the incident. Texas Police makes fun of driver who didn't park properly

Bad parking habits can be found in most parts of the world. It is no different in the United States of America and police in Texas found a creative way to call out an offender. Posted on Facebook by the Southlake Police Department in reference to a Ram truck which parked poorly, one of its officers in its department apparently created a funny note which reads “We noticed you had a little trouble staying in the lines when you parked next to a handicapped space….” “Maybe if you practice coloring our path and staying in the lines here, it could help you from avoid citations in the future.” An uncolored image of the police department’s shield was also in the note. While not everyone might find it funny, we thought at least the police there had a decent sense of humor and receiving that message is much better than actually getting a fine. -

Cars1 registered from 1 July 2018 to 31 December 2019 (both dates inclusive) will be assessed based on their emissions of five pollutants of HC, CO, NOx, PM and CO2. The VES rebate or surcharge will be determined by the worst performing pollutant. Aren't both taxes the same since both are taxed the emission from the car.

In the first clip, he mentioned that he would begin the shift at Changi Airport, acknowledging that it would be pretty hard to get many passengers on a Monday. “I strongly advise against driving such long hours because it’s actually very dangerous for yourself and the rider,” he urged. “Rest assured that I will stop if I feel too tired, but I’m very well rested over the weekend”. Grab driver challenges himself to work 24 hours. just how safe is it to drive 24 hours a day? thought commercial drivers got limitations to the number of hours they can drive a day? or not applicable to grab drivers? endangering other road users also.

A man who stabbed a BMW driver to death in a viral road rage incident last week in the Jiangsu city of Kunshan has been ruled to have acted in justifiable self-defense, a decision that has been the cause of celebration across the Chinese internet. The incident occurred at an intersection on Monday night at around 9:37 pm. Surveillance camera footage shows a BMW attempting to swerve into a bike-only lane ahead of a red light, bumping up against one cyclist who refuses to give way. Quickly, two passengers, one man and one woman, exit the car and approach the cyclist. The woman helps the cyclist, a 41-year-old man named Yu Haiming, move his electric bike to the sidewalk. After talking for a time, the two head back to the BMW. However, it’s then that the driver, a 36-year-old man named Liu Hailong, storms out of the vehicle and heads straight for Yu. Though the male passenger tries to hold him back, Liu continues to try to attack Yu. Eventually, Liu returns to his car and reemerges with a machete. This time, the passenger does not try to get in the way as Liu rushes at Yu and takes a number of swipes. Yu holds his ground long enough for the machete to get knocked out of Liu’s hand, falling on the road. The two men both scramble to pick up the weapon, however, it is Yu that gets to it first. With the machete in hand, Yu is able to throw Liu to the ground and stab once at his stomach. Liu then gets up and tries to run back to his car. Sharing. Today I met this driver, in front of my car, upon exit gantry at one of the shopping mall, that he held up so many people as he has insufficient cash card. He was so unreasonable as he wanted to reverse and i have to reverse and the cars behind me all have to reverse. He said that he has the right to do so , so that he can top up the card. Hence i make it a point to have a spare cash card so that in such a situation I can use it. Such inconsiderate driver he was .

My wife was hit by a car while crossing on a pedestrian crossing. She suffered a fractured knee for which she was hospitalised for 1 day and is on 2 month MC. according to the doctor, full recovery may take upto 6 months or more. We contacted the insurance company of the driver for the process about filing 3rd party claim. the insurance company has proposed that they will be appointing an investigator who will contact us and assess about the medical claims and other damages which the insurance company will pay us. however we have the option to counter propose and reject if we feel the offer is too low. No lawyers are involved in the process till now. 1. Our Hospitalisation expenses (including MRI scan & CT scan) and the subsequent follow up > 5k till now. There will be monthly follow ups and she will need to go for rehab and physio for at least 6 months( may be weekly sessions, not sure yet) 2. I understand that we can file for injury claims within 3 years following the accident. 3. we have filed a police report and case is under investigation. We have submitted all the documents to the IO. So my queries are- 1. How impartial are these 3rd party investigators in assessing the claims and offer of compensation. 2. as the follow up is prolonged should we wait for the injury to get better and see whether there are any complications or should we settle it now. Most of the friends i have talked to are asking me to talk to a lawyer, but i understand that they charge a lot or may take a portion of the compensation which is offered. so is it really necessary to engage a lawyer or we can just proceed without one. Any help and advise will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
