  3. Smoking can make your nipples fall off Women with breast implants should take care not to smoke - they face the risk of becoming nipple-less. That's what top plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn warned on CNN's health blog The Chart, that smoking before or after a breast lift surgery can cause a woman's nipples to turn black and fall off. 4. Beijing real estate prices drop as year ends hqsb posted on November 24, 2011 01:08 http://www.globaltimes.cn/DesktopModules/D...&PortalID=0 Homes in Beijing have seen a dramatic price drop as the year comes to a close. Insiders say the reduction comes as developers need cash returns that are not coming fast enough. A local property company has been promoting its houses in Beijingxiangsu community, located near the East Fifth Ring Road, for 11,600 yuan ($1,825) per square meter and some units are selling for as low as 480,000 yuan, according to the Beijing Morning Post. Figures from the Beijing Real Estate Trade and Management website show the average price of an apartment in this community has dropped from 22,500 yuan per square meter to 11,600 yuan, said the report. The company started pre-sales in June, but none of its apartment projects have sold out, a sharp contrast compared to last year's busy real estate market. Another builder, Vanke, has also reduced the price of several projects by 10 to 20 percent, indicating the housing market in Beijing is in a rapid decline, according to the report. Zhang Yue, a senior analyst at Beijing Homelink Real Estate, said many real estate companies followed Vanke's lead and reduced their price by between 10 and 20 percent. "It is unusual to see a 50 percent reduction," said Zhang. An anonymous staff member at a local property company told the paper a half-price home comes close to the original cost of the property, adding possible reasons for the huge discount. "At the end of the year, many real estate developers have to repay loans to the bank and pay the construction workers," he said. Yu Liang, the president of Vanke, recently told the press his company has "gone into hibernation." "Cash on hand is more important than profits now," he said. Zhang Dawei, marketing director of Centaline Real Estate Beijing, told the Global Times the decrease in home prices shows the government's policy on the housing market, such as purchase restrictions and loan regulations, has had an effect. "If the government doesn't loosen the policy, I think the prices might keep dropping lower," he said.
  5. If the parking attendant is 100m away.. and headed ur way.. My lot in question is just outside bukit timah shopping center, parallel lots by the road. I saw the parking attendant and thought: DAMN! now do i wait until she passes, assuming she comes my way, or just chiong up n take the risk? actually, it was a blessing in disguise. I was actually leaving the car when I saw her. decided to tear off 50c. reason being that if she see me waiting in the car, she might know i'm waiting for her to pass or make me tear coupon anyway. i probably escaped a 50 dollar (or whatever amount that offence is worth) fine today btw, the cheque was for a maid agency on the 3rd floor. i took my own sweet time, and was done in less than 10 min. if i chiong up, 5 min max

  8. ST News Jul 19, 2011 No reason for sharp drop in BTO prices: Khaw By Daryl Chin IT IS wrong to compare the prices of the latest Build-to-Order (BTO) flats - offered last week - and those launched in May and conclude that Housing Board's prices for new flats are coming down. National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said this yesterday and added that there is no reason for a sharp decline in prices unless market sentiments dip. Speaking to reporters after his first official visit to the HDB Hub, he noted that 'pricing a flat is quite tricky as there are many factors at play', citing variables like the floor the unit is on, location and proximity to amenities like MRT stations. The prices of HDB's new flats are typically pegged to prevailing resale prices but are discounted. Referring to previous media reports, Mr Khaw noted that in each BTO launch, there is a range of products 'so you cannot just look at the July BTO, the lowest is so much, and then the May one, and say there is a 18 per cent drop'. In last week's launch of 3,600 BTO flats in seven locations in Sengkang, Tampines, Jurong West, Bukit Panjang and Yishun, the indicative starting prices for three-, four- and five-room flats were $137,000, $217,000 and $274,000.

  17. My IU drop out from my car recently and I called up LTA to tell them about my problem and ask where I can get my IU fixed. They refer me to VICOM. I then drove to VICOM and waited for 20 mins plus to get my IU "inspected". The mechanics tell me this: "Either you buy the IU bracket or u go outside and buy the 3M tape to paste my IU back" Huh???!!? I was shocked and went on to say that "Hey aren't my IU under warranty?" and the VICOM guy tells me that "Only the IU is under warranty, not the holder" So now I think what the gahmen is telling me this. "The IU is what we treasure most cos it generates $$$ when you go pass our ERP but for your own safety.. nah.. its yours.. so better pay up to get the bracket replaced or get your own 3M tape or any tape to paste it back and hopefully during an accident, it won't fly out and hit your head!" I am absolutely appalled to hear that. Although it is just a small thing but come to think of that, this small thing can result in fatal accident. I remembered once that the media did focus on the safety of the IU and even showed the scene whereby one car kena accident and the IU was still intact and remains safe cos think the members of the public was worried about that. But now, this small thing happened to my car and no one bothers about it and even ask me to pay for the bracket. Oh c'mon, what is the price of the bracket when compared to the amount of ERP that we have been giving all these while. Isn't our safety worth more than that few dollars?
  18. SINGAPORE : Observers said the drop in the number of permanent residencies granted last year reflected a change in the type of immigrants the government is trying to attract. They said the move also needs to be seen against the backdrop of recent policies aimed at tightening the inflow of foreign workers, such as raising the criteria for S-Pass holders. Economists said given Singapore's strong economic growth and full employment, the policy may lead to labour shortage. This in turn may lead to a rise in wages and also higher inflation. Manu Bhaskaran, partner, Centennial Group, said: "When wages rise, businesses will find ways to economise on labour, and that will drive productivity up. "In the longer term, that would be good for Singapore. In the short term unfortunately, it will be painful for certain businesses and certain companies." - CNA/al SOURCE: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stori...105266/1/.html why singapore so funny 1... too many FT = higher inflation too little FT = higher inflation so how to lower inflation? too many also bad too little also bad!
