  3. anyone know how many litre of fuel a 2L car will consume if it stay idling for an hour?
  4. My car's engine shudders when start up in the morning. The shuddering can be felt through the steering wheel and it is not a continuous shudder but an irregular beat every 2 to 3 seconds. This symptom was already felt when the car was new but as the car ages, the effect is just more pronounced. After the engine's water temp is at operating range, the symptom disappeared. Changed the spark plugs and the problem was still there. Need to gather ideas on what could be the other components e.g. sensors, idle up valve etc contributing to this problem before I bring it into the workshop. Thanks everyone.
  5. One day, the young lion asked his mom: "Mom, where is the happiness?" Mom replied: "It's on your tail." So the young lion keeps on chasing his tail. But after a whole day of trying, he failed to get the happiness that was on his tail. Then he told his mom about this, his mom smiled and said: "Son, you don't really need to chase after your happiness, as long as you keep going and moving forward, your happiness will always be with you." Wish everyone of you find your happiness. You can't decide the length of life, but you can control how you want to live it. You can't control the weather, but you can control your mood. You can't change your look, but you can smile. You can't control others, but you can control yourself. You can't foresee tomorrow, but you can utilize today wisely. You can't win everything, but you can try your very best to achieve that. Hope everyone can face the daily life positively and always happy...

  8. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1064090/1/.html Youth Olympic lane to facilitate travel for athletes, officials By Saifulbahri Ismail | Posted: 18 June 2010 1152 hrs SINGAPORE: A Youth Olympic lane will be introduced along selected roads to facilitate travel for athletes and officials during the Youth Olympic Games. The traffic scheme which will be in place from August 5 to 25 is designed to help ensure that athletes and officials get to their competition venues on time. It's based on a give-way concept, similar to what motorists would do when they see emergency service vehicles like ambulances. When you see the five Olympic rings, and the words "give way", it means this is a Youth Olympic Lane. During games time, the lanes are reserved for a fleet of 700 Youth Olympic vehicles which will operate between the youth Olympic village and the competition venue. These vehicles have special YOG licence plates, the Olympic Rings and the words 'Give Way' in white. They will also have their blinker lights on. The second left-most lane along seven expressways and 15 main roads will have designated Youth Olympic lanes. Motorists have to give way when they these vehicles approaching - just like they would for an emergency service vehicle. The same traffic penalties apply but the organisers are counting on motorists to see it as a part of being gracious hosts. Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Community Development, Youth and Sports, says: "So the give way concept requires all Singaporean drivers on the road support to make it work and as such if you give way to the Olympic vehicles, they can get there on time. "You play a part to make the Games successful, because all the athletes will be there on time, whether it's for training, for warm ups, for competition. I think the foreign athletes and our foreign visitors will be appreciative of the graciousness of Singaporeans." The Land Transport Authority, LTA, says more resources will be dedicated during the YOG period to clear incidents on the roads as quickly as possible. Chuai Chip Tiong, deputy director, Intelligent Transport System Centre, LTA, says: "To ensure that the scheme work even better, to facilitate this - the only concern would be incidents on the road. We have already tied up with a few agencies to ensure that we can execute quick response to the site, in case of incidents as well as clearance from obstructed obstacles from the road." The Youth Olympic vehicles will take to the roads from July 12 to August 4 to test the system. - CNA/jy
  9. Hi Bro, Recently encountered weak cranking during cold startup. Initially thought weak battery but workshop tested that it has 100% charge. However, during the cranking, they tested that voltage changed from 12V to 6V. They serviced the starter motor but still the problem persist. Any bro here can advise what could be the real cause and appropriate measures to diagnose? Warm startup is okay only cold startup.
  10. The driver of a Lamborghini Gallardo and his female passenger were killed in a one-car traffic accident in Wuppertal, Germany. Witnesses at the scene said the yellow supercar was being driven too fast for the wet motorway. An employee of the automaker, or one of its dealerships, was giving a test drive to a 28-year-old woman when the accident took place. Others on the road said the Lambo was dangerously overtaking other cars, using the median to speed past some on the highway. Eventually, the car launched into the air, slammed into a street light, and caught fire. The driver was killed instantly, but the 28-year-old passenger managed to escape. She later died at the scene while paramedics worked on her, awaiting the arrival of a rescue helicopter. Source: bild.de
  11. Safety is expected when you're Volvo, and when something goes wrong it's particularly embarrassing. Such was the case this week when media were invited to a demonstration of one of Volvo's latest latest safety technologies. The collision warning system on the S60 is supposed to detect an impending impacts and then autonomously apply the brakes to bring the vehicle to a halt, like this. Except it didn't! The S60 was launched at 30 mph toward the back of a parked truck and the crowd watched as it rolled straight into it without ever braking. Volvo representatives later claimed human error in the preparation of the vehicle for the test. On the plus side, the car showed no apparent damage to the passenger compartment, again demonstrating that, even if a Volvo does crash, it will protect its occupants. In the meantime, we'll just to go back to being active participants in the driving process. Check out the video after the jump. Hats off to all the tipsters! http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/07/volvo-s...olli/#continued [source: Wired, YouTube]

  15. Formula one living legend, Michael Schumacher could be returning to the GP circuit following his announcement that he has agreed to join back Mercedes nfrom the next season beginning 2010. A German daily newspaper Bild, adds that Schumacher and Mercedes have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract and will announce the deal sometime next week. 21. Read this piece of news at ESPN Soccernet : Fergie slams unfit Wiley Sir Alex Ferguson tonight launched a blistering attack on Alan Wiley, accusing the Staffordshire official of "not being fit enough'' to do his job. Wiley, the fourth official for last month's controversial Manchester derby, was in charge at Old Trafford this afternoon as an injury-time own-goal from Anton Ferdinand gave United a point against Sunderland in a 2-2 draw. Ferguson claimed Wiley had not played the correct amount of added time because he had failed to add on an additional minute to the four already signalled once United scored. "I was disappointed with the referee,'' said the United boss. "He didn't add on any time for the goal. He played four minutes and two seconds. He did not get what he expected like he got it against ManCity and he now slam the poor referee............... Smell something Fishy .........

  25. Salute to the driver for his multitasking driving skill behind the wheel. ---------- source: http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNew...413-135076.html OSLO, April 13, 2009 (AFP) - A Norwegian man faces a heavy fine and a driving ban after police caught him having sex with his girlfriend while speeding on the motorway, police said Monday. The unnamed couple, a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were caught in the act late on Easter Sunday by traffic police on the E18 highway, some 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Oslo. Officers who clocked the couple's silver Mazda 323 racing at 133 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone realised they were doing more than just breaking the speed limit, police told AFP. "It was veering from one side to the other because the woman was sitting on the man's lap while he was driving and doing the act, shall we say," said Tor Stein Hagen, a superintendent with Soendre Buskerund district police. "He couldn't see much because her back was in the way," he added. "Why they did it on a highway with such a high risk we don't know." After following the couple for nearly a kilometre, officers pulled the car over at a service station. "We have taken away his driving licence because of the danger that he caused," Hagen said. Prosecutors will decide within the next week what his punishment will be, with police having filmed the incident to use as evidence against the driver. Hagen said he expected the man to face a fine of "several thousand Norwegian crowns" (1,000 Norwegian crowns = S$230) and a lengthy driving ban.
