  1. PMDs may be somewhat affordable, but if you're not careful they can cost you your life. Like these guys may find out soon enough. What happened? A camcar was travelling on East Coast Parkway (ECP) at 2am in the morning yesterday when it cam across a gang of PMD riders speeding on the expressway. There was at first only one rider in view on the cam car’s left before a second zoomed past into the footage. A third soon zoomed from the camcar’s right. Speeding in a PMD on an expressway is two crimes in one as a PMD is not authorised for use on roads. The punishments for which are being fined up to $2,000 and/or jail time of up to 3 months. Online chatter. Plenty of people were criticising the PMD drivers, but they also criticised the government for not catching these riders as they endanger others as well. While dark, others told traffic police to get blue tents ready for the riders. As someone with a dark sense of humour I laughed. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. Tyres are important to any vehicle because they are the sole point of contact between the road and your vehicle. Regardless of the type of tyre equipped, it is always important to drive prudently and refrain from speeding, especially during wet weather conditions. Watch what befalls this speeding Audi on a rainy day: Location The incident location is on the ECP towards KPE (ECP) at exit 14. The image below is what the area looks like during good weather. What Happened? An Audi TT was travelling on lane 1 of ECP at a relatively high speed while it was raining. Due to its speed and the wet road conditions, the Audi sports car lost traction to its wheels, causing it to aquaplane. Within seconds, it spun out of control - it slid across the expressway, from lane one to the last lane. Just when it was about to smash into the railings, the Audi TT gained some traction in its wheels and seemingly executed a well-performed J-turn (out of pure luck). Miraculously, the Audi TT emerged unharmed - WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH. The Audi driver probably used up his entire year's worth of luck. Netizens' Comments Confirm shrink one. I am not surprised if he stops driving after this traumatic experience. NGL, this is the fastest way I have seen someone exit an expressway. How fast do y'all think he was going? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  3. Driver of McLaren 720s realise a car is a car, it can never fly 😳😂 https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/driver-taken-hospital-after-early-morning-crash-along-ecp 525cc210-79e0-47e1-a79a-fd243508c11d.MP4
  4. Earlier this week (Jul 7), a white McLaren 720S was spotted crashed into a row of plants along East Coast Parkway (ECP). Here's new video footage of the crash that just surfaced, via the perspective of a cam car witness: Driver lost control while trying to overtake The video footage here shows the white sports car which skidded from lane 3 to lane 1 while trying to overtake from the left side of the cam car. Close shave with Cam Car The cam car was fortunate enough to drive away unscathed, as the cam car driver was just a few meters behind when the McLaren skidded and crashed. The million-dollar sports car was visibly damaged after it crashed into the potted plants alongside the road divider. Driver has been taken to hospital The driver has been reportedly been taken to Raffles Hospital after the crash. We're still awaiting updates about the status of the driver. We strongly advise all drivers to drive within the speed limit, and to take extra care when navigating turns, especially during the recent wet weather conditions. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 5. The whole island was hit with a heavy rainstorm yesterday, with some experiencing more than just a heavy downpour. From this minute-long video, it seems that a Ferrari 458 was caught speeding down East Coast Road in 'not-safe-for-speeding' weather. The driver subsequently loses control of the vehicle as he attempts to accelerate, swerving left and right across three lanes before hitting an SBS bus and losing its rear bumper. Ouch! Netizens' reactions to the incident: This video ticked off a lot of netizens as they expressed their contempt for the Ferrari driver's dangerous decision: Although the Ferrari did not cause any major harm to other drivers on the road, it is crucial for drivers on the road to remember to slow down and be extra cautious as Singapore enters its next monsoon season in June. Thoughts and comments? Please and thank you!
  6. Despite many manufacturers equipping their cars with many safety systems onboard their cars, they do not make the car immune to the laws of physics as we can see from these videos below. front.MP4 We got hold of these videos via some of the various random group chats that have been circulating it and from the looks of it, the accident happened earlier this morning (9 Jan 2020) while the roads were greasy from the drizzle over the day. We are not sure which part of the ECP highway this is but what is clear is that the camera car was driving at his own pace on lane 2 before (what looks like) a group of 3 BMW F10 5 series overtaking the camera car. Unfortunately, one of them lost control while trying to overtake his mates due to the last min abrupt weight transfer as he did the sudden lane change from 1 to 3. 44db9e47-1ba5-44ab-a4c2-1ad0dc8180cd.MP4 We have no idea if the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) was turn off or was it too much even for the DSC to save in the first place? Kudos to BMW for building a decently strong car. Despite the seriousness of the crash, the car still looked like it held up pretty well. Anyway, with the recent rainy weather, do take extra care when on the roads and make sure your tyres have enough thread!
  7. My memories of Tour de France revolve around notable cyclists like Chris Froome, Lance Armstrong and perhaps Eddie Peng (the actor who have acted To the fore) Spotted on SG Road Vigilante YouTube, we have spotted a father and son figure taking their bicycle and cycle along ECP (East-Coast Park Expressway) And here's the video. I do respect this father who wants to train his son at the upmost perfect terrain for his son. However, according to our LTA rules. Under Rule 3 of the Road Traffic (Expressway – Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010, cyclists are not permitted to ride their bicycles, including Power Assisted Bicycles, on expressways. Cyclists who are found riding on expressways may be liable for a fine not exceeding S$2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months. The authorities will enforce against road users who choose to flout the traffic rules. For cycling enthusiasts. There is an on-road bicycle lane to open in Changi East, It is 10km-long, 2m-wide bicycle lane on both sides. Gambate! I will be rooting for you when you and your son when you guys are participating in Tour de Singapura France. But for now, please keep our expressway free of an accident!
  8. Are cyclists getting out of hand these days? We'd say so as more and more videos of cyclists ignoring traffic rules and getting angry with other road users have been surfacing. It doesn't help as COVID has encouraged more people to workout, with cycling fast becoming one of the more popular choices/excuses to get out of the house. According to SG Road Vigilante, this incident between 2 cyclists and the camera car happened on 30th August 2020 at 17:15 along east coast road. As the road is a single lane road, SGRV claims that the camera car wanted to overtake and horned at the cyclists that he/she is proceeding with an overtaking maneuver. Unfortunately, the cyclist wasn't happy and started some 'ah-beng taunting' actions. Do you think the cyclists in the videos are self-entitled? Or do you reckon the driver should have just queued up and drove slowly behind them? Let us know!
  9. Some people don't deserve to drive. Watch the video below and see whether you agree with our harsh comment or not. Posted by My Grandfather's Road, another traffic-shaming facebook page, is this video of a Honda City that almost came to a complete stop while on the first lane of the ECP. It is unclear how long ago this accident happened as the in-car camera video dates the incident on the 27th of Dec 2019 but the post was published today, 22nd of July 2020. We have no idea why the Honda driver attempted to slow down. Could it be that he or she realised that there is an exit and wanted to turn off at the last minute?

  11. Marine Cove reopens end-June: 5 things about the recreational enclave at East Coast Park The McDonald's outlet at Marine Cove features a new look: loft-like space, sleek metallic counter, yellow flooring and gigantic food decals. Photo: The Straits Times SINGAPORE - Marine Cove at East Coast Park reopens from this week, after being in development for two years. The National Parks Board (NParks) promises facilities that are family-friendly, great views of the sea and a 3,500 sqm playground with a marine theme. Here's more about the revamped park recreation area. 1. MEGA PLAY AREA FOR THE KIDS The highlight of the playground is a 8m tower modelled after a lighthouse. It comes with many play elements that include three slides, a rope bridge and climbing net courses. There are also inclusive play equipment to encourage children of different abilities to play together. They are designed to let children spin, rock and swing to improve muscle control. 2. MACS IS BACK Those hankering for the return of a 30-year-old icon can look forward to gourmet food options alongside the usual fast-food fare when McDonald's reopens on July 2. The beach-style 8,439 sq ft outlet will act as a test kitchen to incubate new products, and feature a salad bar, a dessert bar and a trio of premium burgers like the Spicy Chicken with Apple Slaw. 3. MORE DIVERSE FOOD OPTIONS While the children play, parents can chill at the new F&B outlets opening progressively from Tuesday (June 28). Family restaurant Babalicious will serve Peranakan dishes together with Hainanese chicken rice, while visitors can tuck into kopi and steamed kaya butter bread at Hill Street Coffee Shop. There is also halal-certified My Briyani House and a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlet. More details on their opening promotions here. 4. NO MORE PARKING WOES? Located at East Coast Park Area C, Marine Cove is accessible via East Coast Park Service Road. Its two carparks have been reconfigured to increase the number of parking lots. Carparks C2 and C3 will have a total of around 430 car parking lots - up from about 300 previously. 5. REMEMBER MARINE COVE'S PREVIOUS INCARNATION? Singaporeans who grew up in the 1980s will remember Marine Cove's former life as the East Coast Recreation Centre. It was developed by Mr George Wuu in 1980 and had replicas of nostalgic landmarks like the old Lido Theatre and Odeon cinemas. Marine Cove was then sold to Rock Productions, the business arm of New Creation Church which also manages The Rock Auditorium and The Star Vista, a shopping mall in Buona Vista. It bought the recreation and restaurant cluster from George Wuu in 2002 for about $10 million and renamed it Marine Cove. The land, managed by the Singapore Land Authority, was handed back to NParks in 2011 and the area closed in 2012 for redevelopment. http://news.asiaone.com/news/lifestyle/marine-cove-reopens-end-june-5-things-about-recreational-enclave-east-coast-park
  12. @scoryan done!. Hope you get witnesses coming forward "Urgent help needed for accident at about 6.50pm on 27/10/15 (Tuesday) Hi guys & gals, Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread. I'm really very unlucky to get into an accident on 27/10/15 ( Tuesday) at about 6.50pm after exiting the Bedok exit from ECP towards Changi. At the junction of Marine Parade Road and Bedok South Ave 1 (right after the ECP exit to Bedok), a lorry knocked off my left side view mirror and sped off. I stopped at the accident spot but the lorry continue driving away. As I could not see the lorry's licence plate clearly, I decided to speed over to stop his lorry. I did so but he insisted that he was right and didn't know he knocked my car although I have horned at him before and after he hit me. Maybe I should have just stayed put at the accident spot and called the police? Now, I believed it's his word against mine. Very sad... Are there any kind folks here or people you know who happened to witness this accident and captured it on his/her car camera? If yes, can you please pm me? Hopefully I can get the footage and it can be used for my insurance claim. Thanks a lot! *Thought of installing a car camera next month as a birthday present for myself but now it's too late... For those who wished to install a car camera, please don't wait. Please go and do it tomorrow." Thanks RadX and I hope to hear your kind and positive reply soon!
